Chapter 3 - Taken by power

The world shifted beneath Lyra.

One moment, she was barely holding onto consciousness…

The next—

she was moving.

Fast.

The wind rushed past her, cool against her burning skin. Strong arms held her securely, effortlessly, as if she weighed nothing at all.

Her senses slowly sharpened.

The forest blurred around her, trees melting into shadows as whoever carried her moved at an inhuman speed.

She didn't need to open her eyes to know.

Alpha.

A powerful one.

No… not just one.

Three.

Her wolf stirred again, weaker this time—but restless.

Conflicted.

Drawn.

Her fingers twitched slightly against the chest beneath her.

Hard. Warm.

Steady.

The heartbeat she felt was calm… controlled… but powerful.

"Careful," a voice muttered nearby. "You're holding her too tightly."

"I know exactly what I'm doing," came the low reply beneath her.

The one carrying her.

Lyra's breathing hitched faintly.

That voice—

silver eyes.

"Do you?" another voice cut in, sharper this time. "Because if you hurt her—"

"I won't."

The response was immediate. Final.

Dangerous.

Silence followed, thick with tension.

Even half-conscious, Lyra could feel it.

The clash between them.

Like three storms colliding in the same sky.

Minutes passed—maybe longer.

Time felt strange, slipping through her fingers.

Until suddenly—

they stopped.

The movement ceased so abruptly it made her stomach twist.

The air changed.

Cooler.

Cleaner.

Safer.

Lyra's brows furrowed slightly as unfamiliar scents surrounded her—wood, earth, something rich… something powerful.

Territory.

Not just any territory.

An Alpha's domain.

"No."

The word came out sharp.

Firm.

It wasn't hers.

Lyra's eyes fluttered open weakly, her vision still blurred.

The first thing she saw was stone.

Dark walls. Tall ceilings.

A place that screamed authority.

Control.

"This isn't your land," the amber-eyed Alpha said, his tone edged with irritation.

"It is now," the silver-eyed one replied calmly.

"You're crossing a line."

"And you're still here," he countered.

A low growl rumbled somewhere behind them.

Lyra winced slightly at the sound.

Even in her state, the power behind it made her chest tighten.

"Put her down."

That voice—

the third one.

Dark. Heavy. Dangerous.

A command.

For a split second—

nothing happened.

Then slowly…

very slowly…

Lyra felt herself being lowered.

Carefully.

Gently.

Her body met something soft—a bed.

The sudden lack of warmth made her wolf whine weakly inside her.

Her fingers curled slightly, as if reaching for something that was no longer there.

The three Alphas noticed.

Of course they did.

"She's reacting to the bond already," the amber-eyed one said quietly.

"That fast?" the darker one muttered.

Silence followed again.

But this time…

it wasn't filled with anger.

It was something else.

Something heavier.

"Impossible," one of them said under his breath.

Lyra forced her eyes open again, this time clearer.

Three figures stood around her.

Three powerful men.

Each one different.

Each one dangerous.

Each one…

hers.

Her chest rose unevenly.

"I didn't choose this…" she whispered, her voice fragile.

For the first time—

none of them argued.

None of them interrupted.

Because the truth was…

neither had they.

The silver-eyed Alpha stepped forward, his gaze locked onto hers.

"You don't have to understand it yet," he said quietly.

His voice had changed.

Softer.

But still unbreakable.

"But you will."

Lyra's heart pounded.

Not from fear.

Not anymore.

But from something far more dangerous—

something pulling her deeper, binding her tighter.

Something she couldn't escape.

And as she looked at them…

really looked this time…

a strange realization settled into her bones.

These weren't just Alphas.

They were rivals.

Enemies.

Men who would destroy each other without hesitation.

And now—

they were bound to the same Omega.

Her.

A slow, uneasy breath left her lips.

"What happens now…?" she asked.

No one answered immediately.

Because none of them had an easy answer.

But one thing was certain—

This wasn't fate being kind.

This was fate being cruel.

And it had only just begun.
