Chapter 1 - The Invisible Friend I Found in the Jungle

Once upon a time, I lived in a small village surrounded by hills and forests. Life in the village was simple and peaceful. People worked during the day and rested at night, and everyone knew each other.

I had a small dog named Tommy. He was not a big hunting dog, but he was very loyal and always followed me wherever I went. Tommy was like a member of my family. Whenever I prepared to go somewhere, he would wag his tail excitedly, as if he already knew he was coming with me.

One of my biggest hobbies was hunting in the jungle.

About three to four hours away from my village, there was a very large and dense forest. The forest was famous for its beauty, but it was also known to be dangerous. Many villagers said strange things happened there at night.

Some people said they had heard mysterious voices.

Some said they had seen strange lights moving between the trees.

But I never believed those stories.

To me, the forest was simply a place full of adventure.

One morning, I packed my hunting bag, took my water bottle, and called Tommy.

"Come on, Tommy. Let's go hunting."

Tommy barked happily and ran beside me.

We walked for almost three hours through narrow paths and rocky trails. The deeper we went into the forest, the quieter everything became. Tall trees covered the sky, and sunlight barely reached the ground.

The air smelled fresh and slightly wet, as if it had rained recently.

After walking for a long time, we reached a very quiet part of the forest. There was a big flat rock near some bushes, so I decided to sit there and wait for prey.

Tommy sat beside me, quietly watching the surroundings.

For several minutes, everything was silent.

Then suddenly I heard something.

Crunch… crunch… crunch…

It was the sound of something stepping on dry leaves.

My eyes immediately focused in that direction.

I thought, Maybe it's a wild chicken… or a rabbit.

If I was lucky, I might even find a deer.

I stayed completely still and listened carefully.

The sound continued for a few seconds… and then stopped.

I waited patiently for about thirty minutes.

Then I slowly stood up and walked toward the place where I had heard the sound.

But when I reached there, I found nothing.

No animal.

No bird.

Not even footprints.

The ground was covered with dry leaves, but there was no sign that anything had been there.

A strange feeling suddenly came over me.

By now the sun had almost disappeared and darkness had started spreading through the forest.

The trees looked taller and more frightening at night.

For the first time that day, I began to feel nervous.

I looked at Tommy and said,

"Come on, Tommy… I think today we won't find any prey. Let's go home."

Just as we were about to leave, I suddenly heard a voice behind me.

"Brother…!"

I froze.

My heart started beating very fast.

I slowly turned around.

"Who's there?" I shouted.

There was no one.

But the voice came again.

"Brother… please help me."

I looked around carefully.

"Where are you? Show yourself!"

Then the voice replied calmly,

"Brother… you cannot see me."

I felt confused and slightly scared.

"What do you mean I can't see you?"

Then the voice said something that shocked me completely.

"Brother… I am invisible."

For a moment I thought someone was joking with me.

But the voice sounded serious.

"I can see you… but you cannot see me."

I swallowed nervously and asked,

"Who are you?"

He replied,

"I am not from this world. I came from another world with my friends."

My mind was filled with questions.

Another world?

Invisible?

Was this real or was I imagining things?

He continued speaking.

"My friends and I came here for a picnic. We were exploring this forest, but I walked too far and got lost. When I came back, they were already gone."

His voice sounded sad.

"I don't know how to go back now."

I looked around again, but of course I could not see him.

Tommy also seemed confused. He kept looking around and sniffing the air.

For a moment I thought about running away.

But then I felt sorry for him.

If he was telling the truth, then he was alone in a strange world.

So I said,

"Alright. Come with me. I will help you."

That night I brought him home.

Of course, no one else could see him, so I didn't tell anyone about him.

In my room, there were two beds.

I said jokingly,

"You can take that bed. Even if I can't see you."

He laughed.

His laugh sounded friendly and warm.

That night we talked for many hours.

He told me amazing things about his world.

In his world, people had many special abilities.

Some could become invisible.

Some could travel between worlds.

Some could even see the future.

I was fascinated by his stories.

Days passed, and slowly we became very close friends.

One day we decided to go to the market.

He said,

"Brother, I want to see what the markets in your world look like."

I agreed.

When we reached the market, it was crowded with people, shops, and noise.

He seemed very curious about everything.

He asked questions about food, clothes, vehicles, and even street vendors.

Then we stopped in front of a lottery shop.

The first prize was one crore rupees.

I stood there thinking about which ticket to buy.

Suddenly he said quietly,

"Brother… take this ticket."

I looked at the ticket number.

"Why this one?"

He smiled and said,

"Because this one will win."

I laughed.

But for fun, I bought it.

That night when I checked the result…

I couldn't believe my eyes.

I had actually won one crore rupees.

I jumped up in shock.

"How did you know?!"

He laughed and said,

"I told you… I can see the future."

From that day on, everything changed.

With his help, I bought lottery tickets many times.

And every time, we won.

Slowly I won ten to twelve crores.

I bought a big house.

I bought a car.

I even made a special room for my invisible friend with a TV, gaming setup, and comfortable furniture.

Even though no one else knew about him, he became the most important friend in my life.

Years passed.

About fifteen years later, we decided to go hunting again in the same forest.

It was night, and light rain was falling.

The forest looked mysterious and beautiful.

After hunting, we sat near a small river and rested.

The sound of flowing water was peaceful.

Then he asked,

"Brother… what do you want now? I can give you anything."

I thought for a moment.

Then I said,

"We come here for hunting many times. It would be nice if we had a farmhouse here."

He laughed.

"Close your eyes."

I closed them.

I heard a small snapping sound.

"Now open them."

When I opened my eyes…

I was speechless.

A beautiful farmhouse stood beside the river.

It looked warm and comfortable, with lights glowing inside.

We went inside.

There was food, beds, television, and everything we needed.

We spent many wonderful nights there.

One day something unexpected happened.

A loud sound suddenly came from the sky.

It sounded like a mix of a helicopter and a jet.

We looked up.

A large round flying machine, shaped like a plate, slowly descended from the sky.

My friend became excited.

"Brother… those are my friends!"

Soon I heard several voices.

I could not see them, but they were there.

They all came to the farmhouse.

We had a big picnic together.

They laughed, told stories, and shared food.

Even though I could not see them, I felt like I was among friends.

The next day it was time for them to return to their world.

I looked at my friend and said,

"You should go with them. Your family must be waiting for you."

He became quiet for a moment.

Then he said,

"Brother… I will come back to visit you."

Before leaving, he gave me a small remote.

"Whenever you miss me, press this button."

Then he left with his friends in the flying machine.

After he left, the farmhouse felt empty.

Months passed.

One day I went back to the farmhouse.

I remembered the remote.

I pressed the button.

About fifteen minutes later, the sky filled with that same loud sound again.

And my invisible friend returned.

From that day on, we kept meeting again and again.

Sometimes we stayed for three days.

Sometimes for a whole week.

We fished in the river, swam in the water, cooked food, and talked for hours.

Years turned into decades.

Now twenty to twenty-five years have passed.

But our friendship is still strong.

Whenever I visit the farmhouse in the jungle, I press the remote button.

Soon the round flying machine appears in the sky again.

My invisible friend and his companions come back.

And once again we enjoy picnics together like the old days.

Sometimes I sit quietly beside the river and think about that first night in the forest.

If I had never heard the sound of those dry leaves…

If I had walked away just a few minutes earlier…

Maybe I would never have met the most unusual friend of my life.

And that is why I believe something today.

Sometimes the forest doesn't just hide animals.

Sometimes…

it hides destiny. 🌲✨
