Chapter 3 - Chapter Three: Clue

It's... it's a USB drive with this... stone," Wen said as he was studying the things we brought earlier. I was applying medicine on my arm.

"Is it working?" Yi said as he was eating his burger.

"It is."

"Let's see what's in it," Lili said with strong determination.

Wen put the USB on the laptop and connected it to the screen. Soon, a tape started playing.

"If you're seeing this video, that means I'm dead or have disappeared. This USB contains confidential information that is unbelievable. So, if you are scared of it, throw it away.

I have been on a journey, and I came across something unnatural. To investigate it, I have to go further. I reached 'Ting Zhu Wu village.' The village is surrounded by a forest near the mountain 'Jiu Yang Ding.' As its name suggests, it has a high peak, but we don't know what secrets it holds inside it.

If I disappear, try to find me there. I might be there or not; it's all up to the future. Just remember when you enter that mountain what you have come for. That is far more dangerous than it looks. You will come across many unnatural things that are hard to believe, but they are the truth, whether you believe it or not.

Just remember this: 'Everything we see is not always true.'"

As soon as the tape came to an end, we all heard a terrifying voice. It almost burst our eardrums.

"What in the world was that thing?" Yi said as he steadied himself. Lili looked at me,up and down for any additional injury.

"I'm fine," I assured her.

"Good, but what should we do now?" she asked with doubt on her face.

We all shared a spectacular look. With all the doubts, Wen cleared his throat and said, "Should we go?"

Again, the silence filled the room completely. Everyone had their own doubt. "Come on, guys. We all have been training for more than ten years for this; it's not totally impossible," Yi said with confidence.

We all have been trained since our childhood to solve these types of puzzles and traps, and have learned different types of fighting styles. It was like we had been training since we were able to crawl. For some reason, Grandmother started our training at a very early age. She always tells us that difficulty and fortune never tell us when they're coming, so we need to be ready for everything.

"It's not impossible, but it's also not easy," Wen said as he was typing something on the laptop.

"But we need to go if we want to find the answer to this big question. That has been haunting us for years," Lili said as she touched her neck. I like silence, but not at a time like this.

"Let's go," I said with a steady voice.

The silence stayed for a few more seconds, then Wen handed over a paper to Yi.

"What is this?"

"List of equipments"

"Equipment?"

"Yes, we need equipment. We can't go on our adventure without it, can we?"

Yi hugged Wen tightly. "Buddy, you are the best. Let's finish this task together."

Lili joined them seconds later, "Let's do it together," all smiling brightly and hugging each other.

"We got a problem," I said, breaking their happy moment.

"What problem?" *The three of them said together.*

"Who is going to ask for permission?"

-Dead silence-
