Chapter 39 - Chapter 39

Even with Alex's cultivation as a mighty expert of the Supreme Realm, he still shuddered slightly under the impact of that roar.

"Heh. Quite lively, aren't you."

A trace of amusement appeared at the corners of Alex's mouth as he calmly continued walking deeper into the cave.

After he had taken about a dozen steps forward, another roar burst out.

Compared with the previous one, this roar sounded even more powerful and violent. It was filled with boiling killing intent, as if issuing a clear warning to Alex not to advance any further.

However, two roars were naturally far from enough to frighten Alex.

Spiritual energy surged beneath his feet.

His figure flickered forward.

In the blink of an eye he had already crossed the remaining distance and arrived at the deepest part of the cave.

At the end of the cavern stood dozens of iron pillars arranged in perfect order.

Using the ceiling as the roof and the ground as its base, they formed a massive prison cage.

Golden sacred characters were carved across every iron pillar.

This was a defensive formation personally laid down by the First Elder, Cedric.

Inside that enormous prison cell was a giant dragon.

The dragon was thirty meters long.

Its entire body was covered in pitch black scales that reflected a cold metallic luster.

A pair of enormous wings stretched from its back. If fully extended they would be large enough to blot out the sun and clouds.

Two sharp horns rose from its head.

Its blood soaked maw revealed rows of razor sharp fangs.

Its eyes burned with a deep crimson glow.

Although its cultivation had only reached the Enlightenment Realm, the terrifying aura it emitted was enough to silence even powerful experts of the Void Amalgamation Realm and the Mahayana Realm.

"So this is the Obsidian Jade Dragon raised with the blood of more than two thousand human lives."

A glimmer of light flashed in Alex's eyes.

He nodded with satisfaction.

"Not bad."

"The previous fellow really left behind a fine weapon for me."

"It just so happens that I recently mastered the Animal Path and happen to be lacking a suitable sparring partner."

"You wicked beast. You will serve as my punching bag."

Alex's expression grew sharp.

He raised his index and middle fingers together.

A dense karmic aura erupted from his body.

Behind him a radiant white wheel slowly appeared.

"Six Paths Wheel of Destruction Art. Animal Path."

"Blood Sucking Demonic Lizards. Manifest."

As the incantation finished, Alex bent down and slammed his palm against the ground.

The white wheel behind him slowly opened like a massive gate.

One after another crimson figures crawled out from inside.

Hundreds of Blood Sucking Demonic Lizards emerged from the gateway.

Every demonic lizard measured three meters long.

Their bodies were deep crimson.

For ordinary lizards this size was already enormous.

However when standing before the Obsidian Jade Dragon they looked as insignificant as mice.

Under Alex's mental command the demonic lizards rushed forward.

They squeezed through the gaps between the iron pillars and crawled into the cage.

Opening their bloody jaws they revealed rows of razor sharp teeth.

Then they launched their attack against the Obsidian Jade Dragon.

The Obsidian Jade Dragon had been imprisoned inside this cave for decades.

Although it had never fought in real battle, endless rage and killing intent had accumulated inside its heart.

Now these demonic lizards dared to pierce its claws and drink its blood.

The dragon instantly erupted in furious rage.

It opened its massive mouth.

A torrent of blazing flames erupted outward.

The flames carried the terrifying power of Dragon Breath.

The originally cold and damp cave immediately became unbearably hot.

Every Blood Sucking Demonic Lizard possessed the strength of the Nascent Soul Realm.

Yet before the Obsidian Jade Dragon they were as fragile as ants facing a hurricane.

With a single breath of dragon fire dozens of demonic lizards were instantly reduced to ashes.

Once it tasted slaughter the dragon's feral nature burst free completely.

It unleashed every natural ability it possessed.

Dragon claws crushed enemies beneath them.

Dragon fangs tore through flesh.

Dragon wings smashed everything in their path.

Alex watched as the hundreds of demonic lizards he summoned were slaughtered in brutal fashion.

Instead of anger he only became more excited.

The smile on his face grew wider.

"Truly worthy of the noble Dragon Clan bloodline."

"When it comes to strength and destructive power no demonic beast can compare."

"At only the Enlightenment Realm it can already produce power comparable to the Mahayana Realm."

"If it breaks through to the Void Amalgamation Realm it could probably destroy Supreme Realm experts directly."

In a short time all the Blood Sucking Demonic Lizards were completely wiped out.

However the Obsidian Jade Dragon still had not vented its anger.

Its wild instincts were fully awakened.

It began smashing its body violently against the iron pillars.

It wanted nothing more than to tear Alex apart.

The iron pillars were reinforced by Cedric's defensive seals so they were extremely sturdy.

However the entire cave trembled violently.

The mountain seemed ready to collapse at any moment.

"You wicked beast. Do you have too much energy?"

Alex laughed lightly.

"This seat likes battle companions with some wild spirit."

"But if you dare show your fangs at your master..."

"...then you are no longer adorable."

Alex slowly raised his hand.

A thin strand of eerie blue flame appeared on his fingertip.

"Rakshasa Demonic Fire. Strike."

The flame was no thicker than a thumb.

Compared with the enormous Obsidian Jade Dragon it seemed incredibly small.

Yet the moment the flame touched the dragon's body...

The Obsidian Jade Dragon was blasted backward more than ten meters.

Its body slammed violently against the stone wall with a loud crash.

The dragon collapsed onto the ground.

Its body trembled uncontrollably.

Every trace of killing intent disappeared instantly.

A casual strike from a Supreme Realm expert was enough to make even the fearless dragon feel the terror of death.

"Very good."

Alex opened the Providence Secret Mall and browsed briefly.

He spent five hundred Providence Points to purchase three hundred pounds of fresh Demonic Tiger meat.

With a thought the meat appeared directly inside the cage.

Seeing the enormous pile of meat suddenly appear before it, the Obsidian Jade Dragon froze in confusion.

For a moment it even suspected its own eyes.

"Eat."

Alex spoke calmly.

"I allow you to enjoy this food."

The Obsidian Jade Dragon seemed to understand.

It nodded slightly.

Then it lowered its head and tore a large piece of meat into its mouth.

Slowly it began chewing and devouring the meat.

"Good boy."

Alex watched quietly as the dragon finished its meal.

Then he calmly stepped inside the cage and raised his hand.

The Obsidian Jade Dragon instantly understood.

It lowered its massive head directly before Alex.

Alex gently stroked its head several times.

Seeing the dragon's obedient and submissive behavior, he nodded with satisfaction.

"Good child. That's the way."
