Chapter 3 - Lighthouse

One of the top 3 academies, hosting nearly a million students, at any given time a student was present in almost every inch of the school's ground.

Today, the sun yet to reach its peak, the students dressed in the black uniform of the academy, the image of a black flower with a red interior printed on their back and arm sleeves, moved through the school ground like ants.

People were engaged in different discussions, looking for where to relax, or hurrying to a class.

Surprisingly, one of the least busiest places was the tallest building in the school, its structure round and a bright white light shining at its top.

A continuous stream of students moved in and out of the building, the streets outside filled with people wearing black.

Everyone was absorbed in their business, but then two white horses came walking through, their hooves stamping on the paved road, a carriage coated in the darkest black carrying the crest of a black flower being pulled behind them.

A carriage walking through the street wasn't unique, there were several carriages which transported the students to their various destinations, but these carriages though were all strictly painted brown.

For a carriage to be painted black and carry the crest of the school indicated extreme importance, and just as the students noticed the uniqueness of the carriage, they also noticed the white flag at its top, one which bore the image of a coiling flood dragon.

"A supreme!"

One person said it and quickly the words were on the lips of everyone, people's gazes transforming to ones of admiration and envy.

The streets which had already been noisy became noisier, squeals from girls erupting from different corners.

Everyone wondered who was in the carriage and where it was going and they were all surprised when it stopped in front of a tall building.

"Did someone important die!!" a voice whispered, several other voices echoing, suggesting the reason for such a presence.

"Maybe it's a secret lover who's gone missing!!" a girl whispered to her friends.

"Do you think a supreme maybe died!" someone daringly suggested, getting gazes of disgust from around him, one of his friends rebuking him.

"Are you mad, do you understand the people you're talking about."

No one was moving, all eyes were on the carriage, everyone wishing to see which of the most exalted figures in the school had decided to bless them with their presence.

Quickly getting off his position at the front, the driver of the carriage informed its occupant of their arrival and from the carriage a young handsome man stepped out.

He had on blue pants and a white shirt, unlike the others the school uniform wasn't mandatory for him, the two black bands on his wrist which carried the school insignia met the school's requirement of him.

Stepping into the sunlight, the silver earring he had on gleamed in the sun, and not just it, but also his bald head.

"That's Hulio Demoore, number 33 on the supreme list, what's he doing here..."

"He's 33 on the supreme list but that's wrong, it's all manipulation….."

Gossip immediately flew into the air, fanaticism of different kinds lighting up in people's gazes but none of that concerned Hulio.

Hulio's expression was one of disinterest, but within he was annoyed and his eyes twitched when he looked down at the small black scroll in his right hand.

Before departing early this morning, Lilly had handed him the scroll and it was an immediate summon to the lighthouse, one he could not refuse.

Pocketing it, he walked towards the building and when he stepped in, a beep rang throughout the entire building, golden light flashing above.

As he approached the receptionist desk, the queue which had formed in front of it dispersed, the students moving to the side, inadvertently creating an honor guard for him.

The receptionist behind the desk swallowed and trembled as Hulio moved toward her but luckily before she could be forced to interact with him, a strong wind blew from behind and a man dressed in a suit carrying the academy's emblem on the left chest appeared behind.

"Lord Hulio, sorry for the delay, please follow me to my office."

The man who had just arrived was Celian Caswall, the head of the lighthouse.

Turning with a bored look, Hulio began walking towards Celian, giving no acknowledgement.

His gaze went past the man, and when he reached him, he dropped the scroll in his hand to the ground.

"You've seen me."

With those words, Hulio resumed moving, going past the man and exiting the building.

Behind him, Celian watched Hulio depart with helplessness and around him the students watched in bubbling envy.

To so openly defy and disrespect a director, who did not want to be capable of such, but then wishes weren't horses.

Just thinking of the requirements to reach such heights, many students shuddered, their fantasies collapsing.

Outside of the building, Hulio's senses tingled.

The students who felt dread at the thought of reaching his heights weren't wrong to be wary.

What just seemed like a harmless interaction, disrespectful on his side even, was in fact a sinister plot.

The second Hulio had stepped into the lighthouse he had felt it, energy from powerful scanners going through his body, providing his opponents information on his most basic strength composition.
