Chapter 1 - The incomplete story of true love

In the narrow streets of Varanasi lived a simple and quiet boy named Aarav. He was a calm person whose life revolved around studies, family, and a few small dreams. He never expected anything extraordinary from life. But one day, someone entered his life and changed everything.

It was the first day of college. New books, new faces, and a completely new environment surrounded him. Aarav felt a little nervous. While walking through the college corridor, his eyes suddenly stopped on someone. A girl was standing near the classroom window. Her name was Kavya. She had long black hair, a gentle smile, and eyes that seemed full of light.

For a moment, Aarav couldn't look away. He didn't understand why his heart started beating faster, but something felt different.

After a few days, they became friends. They often met in the library, studied together, and talked for hours. Kavya was cheerful and lively. She had a way of finding happiness in the smallest things. Aarav admired that about her.

As time passed, Aarav slowly realized that he had fallen in love with Kavya. But he never had the courage to tell her how he felt. He was afraid that if he confessed his love, he might lose their beautiful friendship.

One evening, they were sitting together on the ghats of the Ganges River. The cool breeze was blowing softly, and the sun was slowly setting behind the river. Everything looked peaceful and magical.

Suddenly Kavya asked,

"Aarav, what would you do if you truly loved someone?"

Aarav smiled slightly and replied,

"Maybe I would never be able to tell that person."

Kavya looked surprised.

"Why?"

Aarav looked at the flowing river and said quietly,

"Because I would be afraid of losing them."

Kavya stayed silent for a moment and then said softly,

"Sometimes we should say what our heart feels… otherwise it becomes too late."

After that day, Aarav thought many times about confessing his love. But every time he tried, fear stopped his words.

Time continued to pass. Soon their final year of college arrived. One day, Kavya looked unusually quiet and sad. Aarav noticed it immediately.

"What happened?" he asked gently.

Kavya took a deep breath and said,

"My family has fixed my marriage."

Those words felt like a storm inside Aarav's heart. For a moment he felt as if everything around him had stopped. But he forced himself to stay calm.

"Are you happy?" he asked.

Kavya looked away and replied softly,

"I don't know… maybe."

That night Aarav couldn't sleep. His mind was filled with memories of Kavya — their laughter, their conversations, and the silent moments they shared.

He realized that if he didn't tell her the truth now, he would regret it forever.

The next day he asked Kavya to meet him at the same ghat where they used to sit together.

Evening had fallen. The river flowed quietly under the soft lights of the ghats. Kavya was already standing there when Aarav arrived.

His heart was beating very fast. Gathering all his courage, he said,

"Kavya… I want to tell you something."

She looked at him curiously.

"What is it?"

Aarav took a deep breath and said,

"I love you."

For a few seconds, everything felt silent. Even the wind seemed to stop.

Tears slowly filled Kavya's eyes.

"Aarav… why didn't you say this earlier?" she asked.

Aarav lowered his head and replied,

"I was afraid."

Kavya gave a faint, painful smile and said,

"If only you had said this a little earlier… because I love you too."

Those words broke Aarav's heart even more. They both realized that the truth had come too late.

Kavya's wedding was only a few days away. They both knew that nothing could change now.

That evening, they sat together for a long time beside the river. Neither of them spoke. Silence filled the air, but their hearts were full of emotions and unspoken words.

When it was time to leave, Kavya said softly,

"If destiny wants… maybe we will meet again someday."

Aarav simply stood there and watched her walk away. Tears rolled down his eyes, but he knew there was nothing he could do.

A few days later, Kavya got married. Aarav tried to move forward with his life, but somewhere deep inside his heart, Kavya always remained.

Years passed, but whenever he visited the Ganges ghats, that evening came back to his mind — the moment when love was finally spoken, yet already lost.

Aarav eventually understood something important.

True love is not always about staying together forever. Sometimes, true love lives only in memories.

And maybe that is why some stories never get a happy ending…

because their beauty lies in remaining incomplete. 💔✨
