Chapter 6 - Chapter 6 — A Day in the Kingdom of Steel

Morning in Germa 66 never came gently.

There were no birds singing.

No sunlight warming peaceful streets.

Instead, the day began with the deep metallic horns of warships echoing across the ocean.

BWOOOOOOOM

The sound vibrated through the massive snail-shaped castles that carried the kingdom across the sea.

Inside the royal dormitory wing, a small pair of eyes opened instantly.

White hair fell messily across the pillow.

Reiji was already awake.

He didn't stretch.

He didn't yawn.

His eyes were sharp the moment they opened.

For a few seconds he simply stared at the ceiling.

His Observation Haki spread out like invisible threads.

Hundreds of minds filled his senses.

Soldiers marching.

Scientists preparing laboratories.

Mechanics repairing ships.

And somewhere far above…

A cold, calculating presence already awake.

Vinsmoke Judge.

Reiji exhaled slowly.

Reiji (thinking calmly):

Another day in hell.

From the bed beside him came a groan.

Pink hair poked out from under a blanket.

Vinsmoke Reiju slowly rolled onto her back.

She squinted at him.

Reiju (half-asleep):

"Why are you always awake before the alarm?"

Reiji stood up and stretched his arms lazily.

Reiji (casually):

"Because someone has to carry the team."

Reiju threw a pillow at his face.

He caught it without even looking.

Her sleepy expression turned into a small grin.

Reiju:

"You're insufferable in the morning."

Reiji smirked.

Reiji:

"You love it."

She stood up and fixed her messy hair.

Even at only two years old, their movements were controlled and precise.

Genetic enhancement made them grow faster.

Stronger.

Sharper.

But Reiji knew something else too.

Something deeper.

Something that had nothing to do with Judge's experiments.

Morning Training

The training hall was massive.

Steel walls.

Reinforced floors.

Rows of mechanical drones waiting to activate.

Judge stood on the upper balcony watching silently.

Scientists surrounded him with tablets and data screens.

Below, Reiji and Reiju stood in the center of the arena.

Judge's voice echoed through the speakers.

Judge (cold and commanding):

"Begin."

Instantly the drones activated.

CLANG

Mechanical legs slammed against the floor.

Three drones rushed toward Reiju.

Five charged Reiji.

Rubber bullets fired.

POP POP POP

Reiji moved instantly.

His body twisted sideways.

Three shots missed his head by centimeters.

Another grazed his shoulder.

He rolled forward and kicked one drone in the leg joint.

CRACK

The machine collapsed.

He grabbed its metal arm and swung it like a bat—

BANG

Another drone smashed against the wall.

Across the arena, Reiju moved with elegant precision.

Her kicks were faster than normal humans could see.

Two drones collapsed instantly.

But the third managed to fire.

POP

The projectile hit her leg.

She stumbled slightly.

Reiji noticed immediately.

His Observation Haki had already predicted it.

He jumped across the arena.

Mid-air he grabbed the drone's head.

Then—

CRUNCH

The metal skull crushed in his small hands.

Silence filled the training hall.

The remaining drones shut down automatically.

On the balcony above, the scientists murmured in surprise.

Scientist:

"His physical output keeps increasing beyond projection."

Judge adjusted his glasses.

His eyes focused only on Reiji.

Reiji stood in the middle of the arena breathing lightly.

Not exhausted.

Not even close.

Reiju limped toward him.

She frowned.

Reiju (annoyed):

"I had that one."

Reiji crossed his arms smugly.

Reiji:

"Sure you did."

She punched his shoulder.

Not hard.

But enough to show her irritation.

Then she smiled.

But Reiji's eyes had already shifted upward.

Toward the balcony.

Toward Judge.

And inside his chest…

A familiar emotion stirred again.

Hatred.

The Laboratory

Later that morning…

The twins stood inside the cold laboratory.

Metal tables.

Bright surgical lights.

Rows of syringes.

Reiji's jaw tightened.

He hated this room more than anywhere else.

Judge walked slowly around them like a man inspecting machines.

His black cape dragged across the floor.

Judge (calmly):

"The next stage of enhancement begins today."

Reiju nodded obediently.

She trusted her father.

Even if the experiments hurt.

Reiju felt the chains in her mind tighten.

That genetic command.

Absolute obedience.

Judge turned to the scientists.

Judge:

"Prepare the injections."

Reiji felt the hatred rise inside his chest.

But his face remained calm.

He sat on the metal table without resisting.

A syringe pierced his arm.

The liquid burned instantly.

His muscles tightened violently.

Electric pain spread through his body.

His teeth clenched.

Reiji (thinking through the pain):

You monster…

Across the room, Reiju winced as her own injection activated.

Her poison-based enhancements were evolving.

Judge watched carefully.

Judge (thinking analytically):

Reiju's stable.

Reiji's… unusual.

Reiji's body reacted differently to every experiment.

Sometimes faster adaptation.

Sometimes unexpected resistance.

Sometimes growth beyond prediction.

The truth was simple.

Judge had created powerful soldiers.

But Reiji carried something else.

Two lifetimes of willpower.

The genetic chains inside him tried to tighten again.

Trying to force loyalty.

Trying to enforce obedience.

But his mind pushed back harder every day.

Lunch With Mother

After the experiments ended, the twins visited the royal dining room.

Sunlight finally appeared through the large windows.

A woman sat at the table waiting for them.

Her face looked tired.

But warm.

Vinsmoke Sora.

When she saw them, her eyes brightened immediately.

Sora (smiling gently):

"There you are."

Reiju ran over first and hugged her.

Sora kissed her head softly.

Reiji walked over more calmly.

But when Sora pulled him into a hug…

He didn't resist.

Her warmth felt different from everything else in this kingdom.

Real.

Human.

She looked at his white hair and smiled.

Sora:

"You're growing so fast."

Reiji sat beside her.

He could feel something new with his haki.

Inside her body.

Four small presences.

Weak.

But alive.

Reiji (thinking quietly):

They're getting stronger.

Sora rested a hand on her stomach.

Her smile faded slightly.

But she still looked determined.

Reiji understood.

She was still fighting the experiments.

Still protecting her unborn children.

And that made his hatred toward Judge burn even hotter.

Evening Realization

Later that evening, the twins returned to the training yard.

Reiju stretched while Reiji practiced punching a reinforced steel post.

BANG

BANG

BANG

Each strike dented the metal slightly.

Reiju stared in disbelief.

Reiju (wide-eyed):

"How are you doing that?"

Reiji stopped.

He looked at his fist.

Then at the dented steel.

He frowned slightly.

Reiju walked closer and poked the dent.

Reiju:

"I can't even move this thing."

Reiji tilted his head.

His Observation Haki scanned his own body.

Muscles.

Bones.

Energy.

Something felt… different.

Stronger than expected.

Stronger than Reiju.

And Judge's data predicted they should be nearly equal.

Reiji's eyes narrowed.

A thought formed slowly.

Reiji (thinking carefully):

Maybe it's not just the experiments…

His mind returned to the moment inside the womb.

The awakening of his haki.

The resistance to genetic commands.

The memories of another life.

Then the realization struck him.

His lips slowly curved into a small grin.

Reiji (thinking):

I might be something Judge never planned.

He clenched his fist again.

This time… with purpose.

If his strength kept growing beyond expectations…

Then maybe he had something even more valuable than genetic enhancement.

A hidden advantage.

One that none of his future brothers would possess.

Reiju leaned against the wall beside him.

Reiju (smiling):

"You're thinking again."

Reiji laughed quietly.

Reiji:

"Yeah."

He looked out at the dark ocean surrounding the kingdom.

His white hair moved softly in the wind.

Reiji (thinking calmly):

Good.

The stronger I get…

His eyes sharpened.

The easier it will be to destroy everything Judge built.

And somewhere deep inside the castle…

Judge continued planning the birth of his next four sons.

Unaware that his first son was already preparing to surpass them all.
