Eighteen years ago, Tjora Gemstone defied the Unoria Council in a desperate fight for justice after her sister's brutal murder.

She failed and lost her life.

Now she has a second chance.

Reborn in the body of Feyora, Tjora awakens with a dangerous gift—the ability to acquire any power of any creature she desires.

But every blessing comes with a curse.

This one came with two of them.

Determined to uncover the truth behind her sister's death, Tjora enrolls in Kridmorth University, the very school where the murder happened. To expose the council and claim justice for humanity, she must survive the brutal Kridorian Duel and seize the throne itself.

But the deadly trials aren't her greatest obstacle.

They are.

One prince hates her.

The other desires her.

Both are powerful enough to ruin everything she's fighting for.

And the more she resists them…

The more her body betrays her.

Tjora should hate them.

She should fear them.

Instead…

She's starting to want them.

PROLOGUE

Fall Apri, 1972.

Feyora's POV

I was stupid.

So stupid.

In what world did I believe I would ever have a happy ending?

A weak chuckle slipped past my lips as I stared at them, the two men I loved, standing on the brink of killing each other.

If only they knew…

I couldn't choose. Even if I wanted to.

My body felt weightless, like my soul was slowly slipping out of it. The world blurred at the edges, fading bit by bit. My fingers trembled beneath my gaze.

They looked pale. Thin. Weak.

Just like the rest of me.

The bond… it was breaking

No—

it had already begun to rot the moment they refused to claim me together.

And now… it was destroying me.

I tried to call out to them, to make them stop, but my throat refused to work. Each breath felt like glass slicing through my chest. My knees gave out, hitting the ground as darkness crept into my vision.

Still… They fought.

Power clashed against power—darkness against fury— neither willing to yield.

Then, it hit me.

The force of their collision tore through the air and slammed into my already fragile body.

A silent gasp left me.

That was it.

Their fight… would be the thing that finished me.

What a very pathetic way to die…

They froze.

Their heads snapped toward me at the same time—Finally.

"Kiron… Teroy…" I called out with the little strength I had left.

They were in front of me within seconds.

Teroy shifted instantly, his fur melting away to reveal bloodied skin and open wounds. Kiron wasn't any better—his body marked with fresh scars, his power still crackling violently around him, it pressed against me but I ignored the pain.

Kiron reached me first, pulling me into his arms, his grip firm but I felt nothing.

Only cold.

A deep, consuming cold that spread through my veins.

"Fey… Feyora, look at me." His voice broke at the end, his fingers tilting my chin up. His eyes glistened, but the tears never fell. He hated weakness—especially in front of me.

Teroy dropped beside us, his hand wrapping tightly around mine.

"No, Fey… Please don't die like this." I pressed down against his hand, trying to gather as much of him as I could, but the healing process wasn't working.

Kiron's head snapped toward him, fury blazing.

"This is your fault!"

I weakly lifted my hand, my fingers brushing against Kiron's arm.

"Please… don't…"

"Why?" Kiron's voice cracked, pain bleeding through every word. " Why shouldn't I? When you always defend him? Even now… even like this… you'd still choose him, wouldn't you?"

"No…" My voice came out barely above a whisper. "Kiron… I love you…I love you both."

His expression faltered.

"You can't love us both, it doesn't work that way…"

"Kiron, enough!" Teroy snapped. "She's dying!"

A tear slipped from the corner of my eye. As thick silence fell, offering no comfort.

"I'm sorry…"

The words barely formed before everything went still. The pain in my body faded into nothing but the ache in my heart— I knew that would follow me… even in death.

Kiron's POV

"Fey…?"

My voice came out broken as tears rolled down my face.

"Fey… no… no, no—Feyora!"

I shook her, my hands trembling as her body remained limp and cold in my arms. "No… no, wake up… look at me…"

She didn't move, her once calming breaths vanished with the mate bond, leaving this thick flame burning through me.

"She's dead… isn't she?"

Ryker's voice echoed in my head, hollow.

"Our mate… is gone."

Her hand slipped from Teroy's grasp, falling lifelessly to the ground.

And for the first time in my life—

There was nothing I could do but sob.

Teroy's POV

A shaky breath left me as I forced myself to stand.

My legs threatened to give out, but I didn't care. I had nothing left to care for.

My mate…

I looked down at her.

At the empty shell of the woman who once held my entire world in her eyes.

Gone.

A low, broken sound tore from my chest.

I did this.

We did this.

If I had just—

If I had agreed—

If I hadn't fought—

"Teroy…"

Sky's voice was faint. Panicked.

"Why can't I feel her? Why can't I hear her? Why isn't she breathing?"

I swallowed hard, my throat tightening as I forced the words out, I never thought I would say out.

"Our mate…"

My voice broke.

"…is gone."

****

In a world where finding your mate was the greatest blessing…

These two men lost theirs.

That night changed everything.

Teroy became distant. Quiet. Lost in the emptiness she left behind.

Kiron became something else entirely.

Obsessive. Unstable.

His darkness consumed him… leaving behind nothing but a burning, broken heart.
