Chapter 5 - FIVE

CHAPTER 005_TINGLING SENSATION

"Don't touch me." Those were the first words that came out of my mouth, when I opened my eyes.

I looked to the left side, I saw Dante standing at the door side, staring at me like I was a stray dog.

I help myself up, wincing in pain. The bed was too soft and the sheets was too clean. The air smelled of burnt cedar and something sharp.

"Where am I?" I asked, my voice rough.

"The Blackfang Palace," he said, his tone low. "You passed out after the storm."

My eyes darted around. The walls shimmered with faint light, glowing crystals embedded in the stone. It was beautiful and strange. I got off the bed. "You brought me here?"

"You saved me first," he said, folding his arms. "The energy that came from your mark... it pulled us out before the ground swallowed everything."

I frowned, trying to remember, but my mind was not in the right order. "You're saying I saved everyone?"

"Yes," he said simply. "But it also revealed us. Every hunter and seer across the lands now knows that the Luna has awakened now."

I stood quickly, ignoring the dizziness. "Then we need to leave. Right now."

He moved faster, stepping in front me and the door. "You can't and where are you going to?

"I'll find a place"

"This is my kingdom, there's no harm here, you're safe."

"Watch me."

"If you walk out that door, you'll collapse before you reach the gates."

I glared at him. "And why's that?"

"Because you're linked to me now." His voice was steady, but there was guilt in it. "If you go too far, the bond will weaken us both. It'll kill you first."

I froze. "Linked?"

He nodded. "The mate bond is sealed under the Blood Moon. You felt it too."

"No." My voice cracked. "No, I didn't ask for that. I didn't want this."

"You think I did?" His tone sharpened. "You think I wanted to be bound to a Luna who doesn't even know what she is?"

I felt pain and I know he felt it too but anger suddenly rose in me, I felt hot. "You think I care what you wanted? Because of you, I lost everything. My family, my pack, my—"

"I'm not your enemy, Leah."

"Then why do you look so much like him?" I snapped.

He stilled. "What does looks have to do with this?

"It does and I want to know be…"

His jaw tightened. "Because he's my brother." He completed.

"What?" I exclaimed.

He looked away. "Alpha Lucas. The one who killed your father and almost all your pack members, he's my blood brother."

I stumbled back. "You're lying."

"I wish I was."

I wanted to scream, to throw something, to tear his words, but he stood there calm, eyes dark gold and sad.

"So all this was what? Some twisted trick? You saved me for him?"

"No," he said firmly. "Saving you that night was treason. My pack would kill me for it. But I couldn't let him destroy everything."

My hands trembled. "Then why tell me now?"

"Because you deserve the truth," he said softly. "Even if it burns."

I stared at him, shaking my head. "The bond shouldn't have happened," I muttered. "You said it yourself."

"It shouldn't have," he agreed. "But fate doesn't always follow rules."

"Then break it," I said quickly. "Cut it, End it. Just do something to stop it. I just don't want to be tied to you."

He gave a dry laugh, bitter and sharp. "You think I haven't tried? The bond doesn't care what we want. It's alive. It's stronger than both of us."

I looked down at my wrist. The faint silver mark glowed softly again.

"You're the weak Luna," he said suddenly, his tone colder. "Running from your own power, and pretending you're just a girl. You just don't have the idea of what's coming."

The words hit me like a slap. "You don't get to call me weak."

"Then prove me wrong," he said, stepping closer. "Show me what you are instead of whining about it."

I pushed his chest, but immediately my hands touched him, everything changed.

The air in the room thickened. The mark on my wrist shine bright silver, and something hot shot through me. I gasped as a pulse—no, a heat wave rushed between us.

Images flashed in my mind.

There was Fire, blood in the world, a young boy crying under the Blood moon, wolves turning against themselves and killing each other. The world is in total chaos.

When I blinked, Dante was still there, his breathing rough. I realized he'd seen it too. His hand was still over mine.

"What was that?" I whispered.

He didn't answer.

The crystals on the wall flickered, one by one. The air shimmered, and Enoch's voice came from nowhere.

"Every choice you make now shapes what's to come," he said, his tone. "Your unborn child, Leah, carries both salvation and destruction. You cannot run from it."

My breath caught. "My child?" I place a hand on my stomach.

The voice faded, leaving me with an unasked question.

I stared at Dante. "What is he talking about?"

His jaw clenched. "You're not ready to know."

"Stop saying that," I snapped. "You talk like you're the only one who understands anything. But you're just as lost as I am."

He looked at me, his eyes gold. "Maybe, but at least I'm not lying to myself."

The tension between us was tensed. My heart beat too fast. The mark burned again, it was harder this time, like it was dragging me toward him.

I stepped back, but he grabbed my wrist.

"Let go," I said, breathlessly.

"You can't run from what's already inside of you." His voice dropped low, rough. "You can hate me all you want, but you can't fight the bond."

"Watch me," I whispered.

He pulled me closer. "You think this is just some spell? You think you can walk away from fate?"

His breath was hard against my face. The mark glowed between us, flooding the room with light.

Then thunder struck outside, it was so loud.

We both turned. Lightning flashed across the window, and in that brief light, I saw them—an army of dark wolves standing at an unknown gates. Their eyes gleamed red.

"Who are they?" Dante said under his breath.

My pulse spiked. "What do we do?"

He didn't answer. I was still staring out the window when another flash of lightning tore through the sky—and for a second, I saw a woman in the storm. Her face was hidden, but her voice whispered through my mind like a memory.

"Leah."

My chest tightened. It sounded like my mother, but before I could move, Dante grabbed me by the arm and pulled me away from the window.

"What are you doing?" I shouted.

"Thats not your mother. It's still a vision," he said. "You want to die here?"

I tried to pull free, but the mark burned again. I gasped and stumbled into him, and now we were too close, too warm, too drawn to each other.

"Dante," I breathe hard, "don't."

He didn't listen to me. His hands cupped my face, rough and trembling. "You can hate me later," he said. "But right now, I just need to feel something real before everything burns."

I wanted to push him away. I wanted to scream, but the mark glowed brighter, and before I could think, the space between us disappeared.

Dante crashed his lips into mine, sucking my lips, I breathed hard. We fall into the bed.

"Dante!" I moan into his mouth and he groans.

His hands find their way to my lap, sending a tingling sensation down my spine.

He kissed my neck, making a hickey on it, he kissed my earlobe. His hands finding its way down my gown, he pulled it up grabbing my ass and pinning me down to the bed.

I could feel his member hard beneath my stomach. I slipped my hands into his shirt and pulled the buttons off, staring at his abs made me gulp nothing down my throat.

He pressed my ass making my nipples harden, as he was about to start doing wonders to me, then the door swung open. Leaving us hanging in the middle of ecstasy.

"FUCK!" We both cussed at the same time.
