Chapter 5 - Memories

I didn't look back when I walked out.

The hallway felt longer than usual.

Behind me, the door to the room was still closed. Inside it were the boys… and everything that had just shattered.

I used you.

The words replayed in my head, calm and sharp like a blade.

But I didn't stop walking.

Not when I crossed the corridor.

Not when I stepped outside the school gate.

The evening air was cool against my face.

For a moment, I just stood there.

Then I pulled out my phone and made one call.

"That plan we discussed," I said quietly when the call connected. "Send the car."

I hung up before the person on the other side could say anything else.

Five minutes later, headlights appeared at the end of the road.

A sleek BMW M5 rolled to a stop in front of me.

The driver's door opened.

A man in a black suit stepped out — the same butler who had served my family for years.

"Miss Jay."

He held out the keys respectfully.

No questions.

No curiosity.

Just loyalty.

I took the keys and slid into the driver's seat.

The engine roared softly when I started it.

And within seconds, the school disappeared behind me.

The city lights blurred as I drove.

My mind kept replaying moments.

Keifer standing too close.

His stupid smirk.

The way the boys laughed together.

The times they had my back.

The fights.

The teasing.

The nights when everything actually felt… real.

Each memory surfaced slowly.

One by one.

I didn't push them away.

I just let them sit there.

Let them sink in.

Like water soaking into the ground.

By the time the tall iron gates of my mansion appeared, the last bit of warmth in those memories had already faded.

The gates opened automatically.

The driveway stretched long and quiet, leading to the massive house hidden from the world.

No one from Section E knew about this place.

No one knew who I really was.

I parked the car and stepped out.

Inside, the familiar marble floors echoed softly beneath my footsteps.

At the end of the hall, the doors opened.

And there they were.

My old people.

The ones who had known me long before Section E ever existed.

The ones who knew the truth.

One of them stepped forward.

"Welcome back."

I didn't smile.

I didn't cry.

I just stood there for a moment, letting the last memory pass through my mind.

Keifer's voice.

I used you.

The feeling settled deep inside my chest.
