এরপর সেদিন রাতেই আমাদের বিয়ে হয়ে গেল। সবকিছু এত দ্রুত ঘটলো যে আমি ঠিকমতো বুঝতেই পারলাম না কী হচ্ছে।
যে মানুষটাকে আমি এত ভয় পেতাম, সেই মানুষটাই এখন আমার স্বামী। ভাবতেই আমার বুক কেঁপে উঠছিল।
আমি বাসর ঘরে চুপচাপ বসে সাদাতের অপেক্ষা করছিলাম। ভয়ে আমার হাত-পা ঠান্ডা হয়ে গিয়েছিল।
কিছুক্ষণ পরে সে ঘরে ঢুকে দরজাটা বন্ধ করে দিল। দরজা বন্ধ হওয়ার শব্দে আমার বুকটা কেমন যেন মোচড় দিয়ে উঠলো।
আমি এতটাই ভয় পেয়েছিলাম যে তার সাথে কোনো কথা না বলে চুপচাপ খাটের এক পাশে শুয়ে পড়লাম।
সাদাত এসে আমার পাশেই শুয়ে পড়লো। তারপর বললো,
"তাহমিনা, তোমাকে একটা কথা বলা হয়নি।"
সে একটু গম্ভীর মুখে বললো,
"তুমি কি জানো আমাদের বাসায় ভূত আছে? আর ওরা সুন্দরী মেয়ে দেখলে নিয়ে যায়।"
আমি ভূতকে খুব ভয় পাই। কথাটা শুনেই ভয়ে লাফ দিয়ে তার বুকে গিয়ে পড়লাম।
সাদাত মিটিমিটি হাসতে লাগলো।
সে বললো,
"এখন তো আমি তোমার স্যার না… এখন আমি তোমার বর।"
তার কণ্ঠস্বর নরম হয়ে গেল।
"আমাকে বাইরে থেকে রাগী মনে হলেও আমি আসলে খুব নরম মনের মানুষ। আজ থেকে আমাকে ভয় পাবে না। আমাদের সম্পর্কটা হবে
ভালোবাসায় ভরা।"
সে আমাকে শক্ত করে জড়িয়ে ধরলো। ভয়ে আমার বুক ধড়ফড় করছিল। তার ঠোঁটের আলতো ছোঁয়া আমি অনুভব করছিলাম।
এরপর আর কিছু মনে নেই আমার।
চোখ খুলে দেখি ভোর হয়ে গেছে।
