Chapter 2 - THE ACCIDENTAL GENIUS OF THE UCHIHA

It had been six years since Kai Takahiro was reborn into this world. In the beginning, his struggle to adapt was so profound that people mistook him for a simpleton. Now, however, he was hailed as a once-in-a-century prodigy, an Uchiha destined to surpass even the legendary Uchiha Madara.

The irony was not lost on him. When you force a forty-year-old man to relearn the basics meant for toddlers, progression tends to look miraculous. For six years, Kai Takahiro had spent his days refining chakra and mastering ninjutsu, enjoying a peaceful, albeit disciplined, childhood.

His father, noticing Kai Takahiro's mind wandering during practice, snapped him back to reality with a sudden palm strike that sent him flying into the nearby lake. With a graceful mid-air twist, Kai Takahiro landed firmly on the water's surface. By instinct, his fingers blurred through a sequence of hand signs: Snake—Ram—Monkey—Boar—Horse—Tiger.

"Great Fireball Technique!" he roared.

A massive sphere of flame erupted from his mouth, surging toward his father. Simultaneously, his father's hands mirrored the speed of his own, forming the signs for Dragon—Ox—Rabbit.

"Water Style: Wild Water Wave!".

The collision of elements was instantaneous. The fireball was snuffed out in a hiss of steam, but the relentless surge of the water wave continued toward Kai Takahiro. Retreating rapidly, he gauged the timing and wove a new set of signs: Tiger—Snake—Tiger—Snake—Tiger—Snake.

"Water Formation Wall!".

A geyser-like barrier of water rose around him, shielding him perfectly from his father's assault. His father approached and placed a heavy hand on his shoulder.

"Releasing two high-level ninjutsu in a row is your current limit," his father noted. "You have the talent, but you lack the foundation. The Second Hokage has established a Ninja Academy. You should go there to broaden your horizons. I cannot teach you forever; a ninja's missions are never-ending".

Kai Takahiro glanced at him flatly. "I'm not going. I don't have the time". Without another word, he turned and walked away.

His father watched him go with a heavy sigh. "A six-year-old capable of multiple B-rank techniques... you've already drawn too much attention, my son," he whispered to himself. "The Academy is a place of protection under the Second Hokage, but more importantly, it's a place for you to meet children who aren't Uchiha. You are simply too different".

Kai Takahiro wandered the streets of Konoha, his gaze drifting toward the two colossal statues overlooking the village. He felt a deep sense of reluctance. In his past life, if he had been good at school, he wouldn't have ended up washing dishes. To him, a classroom was a terrifying prospect. He much preferred the quiet solitude of the Library.

Inside the library, he immersed himself in the history of this world. Konoha was the premier hidden village of the Land of Fire, founded by the First Hokage, Hashirama Senju, and the leader of the Uchiha, Madara Uchiha. As their fame as the world's strongest shinobi grew, other clans flocked to join them, eventually consolidating power until they became the ultimate weapon for the Land of Fire. In an era where Samurai and Onmyoji had faded, Ninjutsu—created by the Sage of the Six Paths—became the law of the land.

He read about the four other Great Nations—Wind, Water, Earth, and Lightning—and their respective hidden villages: the Sand, Mist, Stone, and Cloud. They struggled to keep pace with Konoha, especially after Madara Uchiha once forced the Hidden Stone into submission through sheer power.

However, peace came with a cost. Madara eventually left the village and returned to challenge Hashirama, only to be killed at the site now known as the Valley of the End. Following the battle, the Uchiha clan underwent a "cleansing" and was restructured. Hashirama's wife, Mito Uzumaki, became the first Jinchuriki of the Nine-Tails.

When Hashirama stepped down, he passed the mantle to his brother, Tobirama Senju. The Second Hokage was a man of fierce integrity who revolutionized the village's infrastructure, creating the Anbu, the Police Force, and the Ninja Academy.

"Sigh... I guess I'm going to school," Kai Takahiro muttered, closing his book. "I can't refuse the old man. I waited forty years to have parents again; I suppose I should cherish being a 'spoiled brat'". He fell asleep in the library with a faint, happy smile on his face.

Standing before the Academy the next morning, Kai Takahiro felt a massive headache brewing. He missed his old routine: sleeping in, reading at the library, and practicing chakra control in the afternoon. Now, he had to be up at 6:00 AM—a feat he hadn't performed in nearly thirty years.

"Hey, kid! You're in the way! Move it!" a loud, arrogant voice barked from behind him.

Kai Takahiro turned to see a white-haired boy with distinct red lines under his eyes. Is that a birthmark or stage makeup? Kai Takahiro wondered, staring a bit too long due to his height advantage.

The boy, sensing a look of disdain in Kai Takahiro's silence, lunged forward with a fist. Before the punch could connect, a sharp cry echoed out.

"Get lost!".

A sudden kick sent the white-haired boy flying out of Kai Takahiro's field of vision. Standing before him was a young girl with golden pigtails. She was so adorable that even Kai Takahiro's forty-year-old soul felt a bit flustered.

"Hello! I am Tsunade Senju," she said brightly. "You can call me Lady Tsunade".

"Uh, hello," Kai Takahiro replied, catching himself. "I am Uchiha Aki. You can call me Aki".

"I've known you for a year and you barely let me call you that! Why does this guy get a pass?" the white-haired boy yelled, charging back. He pointed a finger at Aki. "Listen, kid! I am Jiraiya, the man who will become Hokage! Stay away from my Tsunade!".

A second kick promptly sent Jiraiya flying again.

"So you're Uchiha Aki," Tsunade said, ignoring the flying boy. "I've heard my grandfather and Uncle Tobirama talk about you. They say you're the greatest genius the Uchiha have ever produced and the future hope of the village".

Kai Takahiro felt a chill. As the grandson of Madara Uchiha, being "noticed" by the men who killed his grandfather and restructured his clan was terrifying. He knew the Police Force Tobirama created was a double-edged sword: a position of trust that was actually a gilded cage monitored by the Anbu.

Future hope? he thought grimly. Or just the first one they intend to extinguish if things go wrong?.

With a heavy heart and two very noisy companions, Kai Takahiro stepped into his first classroom.
