Chapter 4: The Party and the Fake Girlfriend
Ji-woo stood outside the Grand Jeju Hotel, nervously adjusting her dress. The warm lights of the hotel reflected on the ocean nearby, making the night feel magical — and terrifying.
She couldn't believe this was happening. A party filled with important business people, rich families, and influential CEOs… and she was supposed to pretend to be Min-jun's girlfriend.
Min-jun approached her silently, his usual calm and cold aura surrounding him.
"Remember," he said softly, "just follow my lead. Don't panic."
Ji-woo nodded, her heart racing.
Inside, the party was in full swing. People laughed, sipped champagne, and mingled. The moment Min-jun walked in with Ji-woo on his arm, all eyes turned toward them.
Whispers spread immediately.
"Who is she?"
"She's so beautiful…"
"The CEO has a girlfriend?"
Ji-woo tried to stay calm, but she could feel her cheeks heating up.
Hyun-tae was there too, and when he saw them, his face tightened. He stepped back, unsure how to react.
Min-jun guided Ji-woo through the crowd, holding her hand gently but firmly.
"Don't worry. I've got this," he whispered.
They reached a table where some of Min-jun's colleagues were already seated. He introduced Ji-woo as his girlfriend from Seoul, and everyone nodded politely.
The night continued, but Ji-woo couldn't stop thinking — why was Min-jun pretending she was his girlfriend?
As the music played and the party went on, Min-jun leaned close to her ear.
"Just a little longer," he murmured. "By the end of tonight, you'll understand."
Ji-woo looked up at him, confused and nervous, but a small spark of curiosity appeared.
She had no idea that this one night in Jeju would change her life forever.
And that the mysterious CEO standing beside her… was not just pretending.
