Chapter 7 - Chapter 7 DEBT.

Leonid Voss did not react publicly.

He did not question staff.

He did not call her back.

He did not mention the broken engagement.

But the silence that followed was not peace.

It was preparation.

Something had shifted inside Ignite.

And men like Leonid did not accept humiliation without response.

Days passed.

Then a week.

Aansi waited.

No transfer.

No call.

No message.

The hospital bills continued to rise. Her mother's condition remained fragile, suspended between improvement and decline.

Each day without money tightened the pressure around her chest.

Had she trusted the wrong person?

Had she destroyed her only chance?

Late one evening, her phone buzzed.

Unknown Number

Meet me at the car park. 10:30.

Her heart skipped.

She stared at the message.

Then another appeared.

Zaid.

She exhaled slowly, unsure whether relief or dread had arrived.

10:30 PM — Parking Lot

The parking area near her building was half-lit, shadows stretching between parked vehicles. A distant dog barked somewhere beyond the compound wall. The air carried the chill of late night stillness.

Aansi hugged her jacket tighter.

Her phone screen glowed in her hand as she typed:

I'm here—

Footsteps approached.

Slow. Measured.

She froze.

Turned.

He emerged from shadow as if the darkness had released him.

Black clothing. Controlled presence. Unhurried steps.

Zaid.

He stopped a few feet away.

A heavy duffel bag slipped from his hand and landed on the concrete with a dull thud.

Her pulse quickened.

"What do I get?" he asked.

Her breath caught.

"I… I ended it," she said. "Just like you wanted."

His gaze held hers — steady, unreadable.

"And you believe that settles the matter?"

"You have everything," she whispered. "What could I possibly give you?"

He studied her in silence long enough to make the night air feel heavier.

Then he nudged the bag forward with the tip of his boot.

He stared at her for a long moment — measuring, deciding.

Then he spoke, voice low and lethal:

"Kneel."

Her breath stopped.

"What?"

His boot nudged the bag slightly.

"If you want what's inside."

Shock flooded her face.

"This… this isn't necessary—"

"Now."

The word sliced through the night.

Her fingers trembled. Pride screamed inside her chest. But the image of her mother on the hospital bed crushed resistance.

Slowly… she lowered herself to her knees.

Cold concrete bit into her skin.

He didn't move.

Didn't look away.

"Lower, Oynx." he said.

Her hands clenched.

Her throat burned.

Humiliation spread like fire under her skin.

She bent forward just enough to brush her lips against the leather of his boot.

Silence swallowed the parking lot.

Then—Then, shutting her eyes, she touched her tongue briefly to the leather of his boot.

She didn't move.

"This isn't charity."

Her fingers trembled slightly.

"This is debt."

She swallowed.

"For now," he continued, "consider it an advance."

She slowly crouched and unzipped the bag.

Stacks of currency.

Her breath left her in a rush.

"How much…?"

"Twenty."

Her head snapped up.

"But you said—"

"Did you really think it would be that simple?"

His voice remained calm, almost bored. "The rest depends on you."

Her stomach tightened.

"I don't understand."

"You will," he said.

He stepped closer — not touching her, but near enough that she felt the weight of his presence.

"You walked away from Leonid Voss," he said quietly. "That creates consequences."

Fear flickered in her chest.

"For now, use the money," he continued. "Save your mother."

"And after that?" she asked.

A faint smirk touched his lips.

"You owe me."

He turned and began walking away, darkness swallowing him step by step.

She rose quickly.

"Zaid… wait."

He did not stop.

"What happens if I can't repay you?"

His voice came from the shadows ahead:

"Oh Oynx, You will or."

Paused.

He smirked.

And then he was gone.

Aansi stood alone beneath the dim parking lights, the weight of the bag heavy in her hands.

Twenty lakhs.

Relief flooded her — but it came chained to something darker.

This was not help.

This was an agreement she did not yet understand.

Across the city, inside Ignite, Leonid Voss stood before the vast glass window of his office, the city lights reflecting in his eyes.

A file lay open on his desk.

Aansi's name printed across the top.

He closed it slowly.

And reached for his phone.
