Chapter 2 - The alpha unmasked

Jay’s POV

My phone vibrated once before the call connected.

“Hello, Alpha. What brings you?”

The voice was calm. Too calm.

“War,” I replied.

Silence. Then a low whistle.

“Location?”

“Warehouse 17. Bring backup.”

“Understood. Fifteen minutes.”

Fifteen minutes was too long â€" Kaizer could destroy a whole kingdom in less.

Section E stared at me â€" shocked, scared, bleeding â€" and completely clueless.

Aries was the first to speak.

“Alpha?” he asked quietly, eyes narrowing.

I didn’t respond. Couldn’t.

Because the moment I said the truth out loud… everything would change.

Keifer’s POV

She looked… different.

Cold. Mechanical. Dangerous.

Like someone who had killed before.

“Jay… who are you?” I whispered.

She didn’t turn.

She just picked up a dagger from the floor, blood glistening on her fingers like it belonged there.

“Someone you should’ve never crossed,” she murmured.

The others flinched.

But me?

I felt my heart drop.

Because I realized…

She wasn’t scared of Kaizer.

Kaizer was scared of her.

Author’s POV

A screech of tires.

Moonlight hitting black SUVs like armored shadows.

Masked figures spilled out â€" symbols of a crowned serpent marking their jackets.

The Mariano Mafia Syndicate.

Their leader â€" a tall woman with silver eyes â€" walked over and bowed before Jay.

“Alpha. Your command?”

Jay finally faced Section E.

“This,” she gestured at the elite soldiers, “is my world.”

Flashback Jays POV (Age 13)

Rain. Blood. Screams.

A tiny girl barely five " trembling on cracked pavement.

Her name was Beatrice. Bee.

Her mother ," a Maiden , killed for knowing too much.

Her father ," unknown.

Bee's eyes searched mine as men surrounded her.

Please dont hurt my sister she sobbed.

I wasnt her sister.

But from that moment I became one.

I killed for the first time that night.

And Bee never cried again as long as she was in my arms.

Present

Jay clenched her fist.

Kaizer threatening Bee was the one sin she could not forgive.

Her voice was steel:

Kaizer Watson thinks he can take whats mine? Let him try.

The ground shook as Alpha Mariano's soldiers marched inside.

And just so you know,she added, eyes locking with Keifer 

you didn't protect me from the Watson elders.

She stepped forward confidence in every stride.

Ive been the one protecting YOU.

Kaizer wasn’t gone.

He was hunting.

Her soldiers waited for her order.

Jay raised her gun.

“Lock down the city.”

Her eyes darkened â€" Alpha fully unleashed.

“No one touches Bee… and lives.”
