Endless Chaos – Chaos Void Plane: The Path of Story

Chapter 17 – The Library of Infinite Stories

The cheers inside the Narrative Arena slowly faded.

Raphael stood in the center of the battlefield, still holding the glowing silver scroll that Seraphel had given him.

The scroll floated slightly above his palm.

Strange symbols slowly moved across its surface like living ink.

Lina rushed down from the stands.

"You actually did it!"

She grabbed his arm and shook him excitedly.

"You defeated a Path Rank storyteller!"

Raphael chuckled.

"Barely."

Caelum approached calmly behind her.

"But victory is victory."

He looked at the glowing scroll.

"And receiving an invitation from Seraphel… that is even more impressive."

Raphael raised an eyebrow.

"She's really that important?"

Caelum nodded.

"She is one of the Myth Rank Narrators of Aurelis."

"Few storytellers ever reach that level."

Raphael looked up at the balcony where she had stood earlier.

But she was already gone.

Raphael finally opened the glowing scroll.

The silver symbols rearranged themselves instantly.

A message appeared in clear writing.

Invitation to the Grand Archive of Aurelis

Bearer: Raphael – Dragon Slayer Path

Purpose: Narrative Examination

Location: The Library of Infinite Stories

Raphael blinked.

"…Library?"

Lina tilted her head.

"That sounds harmless."

Caelum shook his head slightly.

"The Grand Archive is the most important place in Aurelis."

"It contains millions of stories."

"Some ancient."

"Some forbidden."

"Some… dangerous."

Raphael smiled.

"Now that sounds interesting."

The three of them left the arena together.

As they walked through the glowing streets of Aurelis, more people began recognizing Raphael.

"Hey, that's the Dragon Slayer!"

"The guy who defeated Veyron!"

"His story is spreading already!"

Raphael scratched his head awkwardly.

"…I just got here and I'm already famous."

Lina grinned.

"That's what happens when you write good stories."

Eventually the streets opened into a massive plaza.

At the center stood a tower unlike anything Raphael had seen before.

The Grand Archive.

The building stretched into the sky like an endless spiral of books.

Entire walls were made of floating pages.

Massive glowing scripts moved across the structure like living constellations.

Raphael stopped walking.

"…Okay."

"That's the biggest library I've ever seen."

Caelum nodded.

"Every story recorded in Aurelis eventually finds its way here."

At the entrance stood enormous gates shaped like two closing books.

Guardians stood nearby.

But these were not ordinary guards.

Each one carried a staff made of solid narrative energy.

Their robes were covered in ancient script.

One of them stepped forward.

"Invitation."

Raphael held up the silver scroll.

The guardian studied it briefly.

Then bowed slightly.

"You may enter."

The gates slowly opened.

A soft golden light poured from inside.

Raphael stepped through first.

And immediately froze.

Because the inside of the library was even more unbelievable.

The Library of Infinite Stories stretched endlessly in every direction.

Towering shelves filled the space.

Floating stairways connected different levels.

Entire books flew through the air on their own.

Some books glowed brightly.

Others whispered faint words as if telling their stories aloud.

Lina spun around in amazement.

"This place is magical!"

Raphael nodded slowly.

"This is basically heaven for writers."

A quiet voice spoke from behind them.

"Welcome to the Grand Archive."

They turned.

A woman in silver robes approached them.

It was Seraphel.

Up close, her presence felt overwhelming.

The air itself seemed to bend slightly around her.

Raphael scratched his head.

"Thanks for the invitation."

Seraphel smiled faintly.

"You earned it."

She began walking deeper into the library.

"Come."

"There is something you need to see."

They followed her through countless shelves.

Some books radiated powerful narrative energy.

Others felt dark and ominous.

Finally they stopped in front of a large circular chamber.

At the center floated a single ancient book.

Its cover was cracked and worn.

But the energy coming from it was immense.

Raphael felt the Dragon Slayer narrative inside him react immediately.

"…What is that?"

Seraphel answered quietly.

"A Lost Narrative Fragment."

Raphael stepped closer.

Strange symbols covered the book's surface.

Symbols that looked… chaotic.

Almost like they didn't belong to the Chaos Void Plane.

Seraphel looked directly at him.

"That story…"

"…came from beyond this plane."

Raphael frowned.

"Beyond?"

Seraphel nodded.

"From the depths of the Chaos Void Sea."

Raphael's eyes widened slightly.

That name again.

The same endless chaos he had heard about since arriving in this world.

Seraphel continued speaking.

"Your Dragon Slayer story triggered something in this fragment."

Raphael looked at the ancient book again.

"…Why?"

Seraphel's expression turned serious.

"Because it may belong to the same Narrative Origin as your story."

The room fell silent.

Then suddenly—

The ancient book trembled.

A faint black mist began leaking from its pages.

Caelum's expression changed instantly.

"That's not good."

Seraphel narrowed her eyes.

"…It's awakening."

Raphael stepped back.

"Awakening what?"

The black mist gathered into a shape.

Something twisted.

Something hungry.

Something that did not belong in the library.

Seraphel spoke a single word.

"Story Devourer."

And the creature opened its glowing eyes.
