Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Wansheng Film

Zhang Laifu was hired.

The other party even brought out the contract!

Zhang Laifu opened the contract and immediately looked for the salary clause: "One hundred sixty a day, right?"

"That's attendance pay," Old Song flipped the contract to page nineteen, "Your monthly salary also includes basic salary and performance bonus. Since it's your first day, you'll get the full basic salary for this month and half of the performance bonus. After deducting the five social insurances and one housing fund, you'll have a little over twenty thousand left."

"Paid every month?" Zhang Laifu had never encountered such a film crew; extras usually got paid daily.

"We are a legitimate company, of course, we pay every month!" Old Song began to pack up, all the documents on the table went into his bag.

"Twenty thousand? And five social insurances and one housing fund?" Zhang Laifu hadn't fully processed it yet, he was busy calculating how many chickens twenty thousand yuan could buy.

Twenty thousand was too large a number; one hundred sixty felt much more familiar!

Old Song held the application form and asked Zhang Laifu: "The card number on this is real, right?"

"It's real," Zhang Laifu double-checked, "Well, you don't need to transfer the one hundred sixty yuan to the card, you can just..."

"Old Zheng, transfer the money to his account."

"Alright." Old Zheng agreed and made a call to finance. Soon, Zhang Laifu's phone rang.

Salary income, twenty-one thousand eight hundred thirty-two yuan, credited.

Really?

Zhang Laifu looked at his phone, then up at Old Song.

Something's not right, is it?

Zhang Laifu wasn't an acting major; he had never played a role with lines.

Even if they were going to offer a formal job, shouldn't it at least wait until graduation?

Even without a probationary period, two hundred thousand a month was impossible, right?

"Where is your company located?"

Old Zheng replied: "Not far from here."

"Not far?" Zhang Laifu was deeply suspicious, "Is it still in the country?"

"Don't worry, we came by car, we'll be there soon." Old Zheng took down the banner, and the power was cut. It seemed this temporary office was about to be abandoned.

Zhang Laifu coughed twice: "I'm a bit excited, I'll go downstairs to buy a bottle of water."

Old Song handed Zhang Laifu a bottle of water: "Calm down first. If there are no problems, sign the contract."

Zhang Laifu unscrewed the cap but didn't drink, placing the bottle on the table. He carefully read through the contract in his hand.

Old Song looked at his watch: "We can look at the details on the way. What you need to do now is get into work mode as soon as possible. Let's go to the set."

Zhang Laifu said: "To the set now?"

Old Song nodded: "Didn't I say the set is short-staffed?"

Zhang Laifu tucked the contract into his embrace, then looked up and solemnly said to Old Song and Old Zheng: "I've read the contract, no major issues. Old Song, Old Zheng, you two have worked hard these past two days. Go back and pack up your things. Our set is short-staffed, we'll start working tonight."

"Uh..." Old Zheng looked at Zhang Laifu, bewildered, "What did you mean just now?"

Zhang Laifu frowned, sizing up Old Zheng: "Which part didn't you understand? I just said we're starting work tonight. Do you have any objections?"

With that, Zhang Laifu stormed off.

Old Zheng stood stunned, then turned to Old Song and asked: "Second Master, this person talks with the air of a Chief. Could he have been sent by the Chief...?"

Old Song was still busy packing. He impatiently pointed towards the door: "Sent by what Chief! He's trying to run away, quickly chase him back!"

Old Zheng wasn't particularly clever, but Old Song didn't like people who were too clever either.

Zhang Laifu scurried down the stairs, when suddenly he heard a song: "Hiss~ Cold! Summer wind blows in~"

Old Zheng sang as he walked beside Zhang Laifu.

He's singing?

This doesn't sound like a song.

I've heard it somewhere before.

He sings so beautifully.

Zhang Laifu felt he had never heard such a beautiful melody in his life. The tune seemed to drill into his ears, captivating his ear canals.

Now was not the time to listen to music; he had to leave this place quickly.

No, I can't move!

It wasn't just his ear canals that were captivated, but also his legs. When Old Zheng sped up, Zhang Laifu sped up with him. When Old Zheng stopped, Zhang Laifu stopped with him.

What kind of technique is this? Psychological suggestion?

Zhang Laifu desperately tried to control his legs. Old Song walked over, smiling at Zhang Laifu: "Sounds good, doesn't it? Want to listen? Never heard it before, have you?"

People are most sincere when afraid. Old Song really wanted to see Zhang Laifu's fear.

Zhang Laifu was very calm, at least on the surface: "I've heard a few snippets online. This seems to be called pingtan."

Old Song was surprised by Zhang Laifu's composure: "Your knowledge base is good. Can you understand it?"

Zhang Laifu shook his head: "I don't understand the lyrics."

Old Song instructed: "It doesn't matter if you don't understand. But as an excellent actor, even if you don't understand, you must act like you do. You need to get into character!"

"Yes, I'll get into character quickly."

Zhang Laifu had to face reality; he was currently under Old Zheng's control.

When he was talking to Old Song just now, Zhang Laifu's legs were still following Old Zheng.

This person had special abilities. It wouldn't be easy to escape from him.

Where did their abilities come from? Is it some kind of high-tech tool?

What do they want to do by controlling me? Is such advanced equipment necessary to use on me?

It's definitely not for money; they shouldn't be looking for a poor student for that.

Perhaps to kill me? But I have no grievances with them.

Are they going to sell my organs?

The three left the prefabricated house and approached a commercial vehicle.

The driver, Old Yu, opened the car door. Zhang Laifu stepped forward, seemingly about to get in, then suddenly turned around and said: "I forgot my documents on the table."

He wanted to use the opportunity to retrieve his documents to escape. Turning his head, he saw that the Wansheng Film Company's prefabricated house was gone.

How could such a large two-story prefabricated house suddenly disappear?

He wanted to go back to the location of the prefabricated house to take another look, but then he heard Old Zheng singing again.

"Yilinmei~ emerald green!"

Zhang Laifu truly didn't understand pingtan; he didn't understand a single word.

But Old Zheng sang so well, every note and rhythm flowed as if from a pipa string, making Zhang Laifu unable to move his feet, and his guard slowly disappeared.

Where did the pipa come from?

Old Zheng wasn't playing a pipa, yet there was a faint pipa accompaniment in his singing!

I can't let my guard down, I can't be distracted by Old Zheng. Where did that prefabricated house go?

"Here it is!" Old Song took the documents out of his bag and handed them to Zhang Laifu. It was a cloth bag, its grayish-white color somewhat similar to the exterior of the prefabricated house.

"I saw you leave your documents on the table just now. You must change this habit of being forgetful in the future. Our set is very large, and if you leave your documents on the set, it will be hard to find them."

Splash~

Old Song lowered his head and carefully checked the car: "Where is it leaking?"

Driver Old Yu looked at Old Song: "Your bag! Your bag is leaking!"

Old Song picked it up and saw the grayish-white cloth bag gushing water.

He took a bottle of water out of the bag and found that the bottle had no cap.

"Laifu, this water, I gave it to you, right? This forgetful habit of yours will cause big problems in the future. Look what you've done to my bag."

Zhang Laifu knew that there was already a big problem.

This bottle of water was indeed given to Zhang Laifu by Old Song. Zhang Laifu hadn't drunk it at the time, unscrewed the cap, and placed it on the table.

He remembered very clearly that Old Song hadn't put this bottle of water in his bag, and a normal person shouldn't put an uncapped bottle of water in their bag.

So where did this bottle of water come from now?

Old Song took out an apple, eating it while lecturing: "You are no longer a temporary actor; you are an official employee of Wansheng Film Company. You must always maintain the basic qualities of an excellent actor.

Do you know what the basic qualities of an excellent actor are?"

Zhang Laifu thought for a moment. The issue of 'qualities' had been mentioned in the extras' guild: "Arrive on set on time, ensure no tardiness!"

Old Song shook his head repeatedly: "That's labor discipline, not yet a quality. To be an excellent actor, the most basic requirement is to get into character. From now on, you must always think about the role."

Zhang Laifu first looked at the amiable Old Song, then at the kind-faced Old Zheng, then at the serious-faced driver Old Yu, and then around at the desolate wilderness.

He took out his phone.

"I never thought that I, a mere extra, would have the opportunity to become an official employee of Wansheng Film Company. I'm truly too excited. Can we take a group photo?"

Old Song shook his head: "What group photo now? We'll talk about it after the film wraps."

"Then can I take a selfie?"

"What's so good to photograph here? Let's go quickly."

Old Song didn't allow it, but Zhang Laifu insisted on taking photos.

He lit up his phone screen and glanced at it.

No signal.

It had full signal when he received his salary just now, how could it be gone here?

They have signal jamming tools.

Zhang Laifu opened the camera and took a few photos.

He needed to photograph the license plate number and these people too; these were important rescue clues.

Old Song and Old Zheng had already gotten into the car. Only driver Old Yu was still waiting by the car, but he deliberately avoided Zhang Laifu's lens; not a single photo captured Old Yu's face.

After taking the photos, Zhang Laifu suddenly shouted: "Your exhaust pipe isn't right, did someone stuff something in it?"

"Who did it!" Old Yu immediately turned off the engine and went to check the exhaust pipe.

Zhang Laifu noticed that Old Yu was very vigilant; he was worried about being ambushed.

After checking the exhaust pipe, there was nothing unusual. Old Yu looked up again, and Zhang Laifu had already run far away.

"This little rascal!" Old Yu got up to chase, but found that Old Song had already caught up.

Old Yu turned to Old Zheng and asked: "Is this person really a fool?"

Old Zheng also found it hard to judge: "I think so, but sometimes I don't."

Old Yu couldn't understand why they had to find such a person: "In such a big outer state, aren't there plenty of fools? Did Second Master have to come all the way here to find one?"

Old Zheng shook his head: "Ordinary fools won't do. We need a fool who doesn't look foolish but is actually truly foolish. Second Master said there are many such fools in the film city."

"Isn't that just to fool the Chief?"

Old Zheng waved his hands repeatedly: "This isn't fooling around, it's real. There must be a fool who doesn't look foolish to 'open the bowl' for the Chief."

Old Yu frowned: "This person knows how to run away, he's definitely not a fool!"

Old Zheng didn't think so: "When you slaughter a pig, the pig also knows how to run away. Is the pig not foolish? It depends on how foolish he is."

Old Yu squeezed his fingers and stretched his wrist: "Have you ever slaughtered a pig? You have to tie the pig up first before you can start. If we tie this kid up and carry him back, wouldn't that be it?"

"Don't rush, let's talk about it once we're on the train."

Soon, Old Song returned with Zhang Laifu, praising him continuously: "Laifu, that performance just now was very smooth, very natural, it truly showed the qualities of a professional actor."

Zhang Laifu chuckled honestly: "I was quite nervous. Under the pressure of you seniors, I felt a lot of stress. My performance just now was mainly to convey the sense of urgency and crisis in an emergency!"

The pressure was indeed not small. He really didn't expect Old Song, a middle-aged man, to run much faster than him.

Not only did he run fast, but Old Song only touched Zhang Laifu once, and Zhang Laifu felt as if he had stepped on cotton; he couldn't run anymore.

With Old Song present, escaping would be very difficult.

"Both seniors are very much in character." Zhang Laifu smiled at Old Yu and Old Zheng.

Old Yu said nothing.

Old Zheng opened the car door: "Yes, everyone's in character. Get in the car quickly."

Once in the car, Old Zheng and the driver sat in the front, while Zhang Laifu and Old Song sat in the back.

After the car started, Zhang Laifu took out his phone, still no signal.

Old Song tapped Zhang Laifu's phone: "Laifu, it's working hours now, don't play with your phone. Pay attention to labor discipline.

We're rushing to the set now. We'll start working as soon as we arrive. Change into your costume first."

Old Song took out a blue slanted-lapel long gown and a white felt hat and handed them to Zhang Laifu.

Zhang Laifu took off his jacket and put on the long gown. Having been an extra for over a year, he was very skilled at changing costumes, no matter the occasion or location, he could change instantly.

He had no choice but to change; Old Song and Old Zheng were constantly watching Zhang Laifu.

Donning the long gown, felt hat, and a pair of round-rimmed sunglasses, Zhang Laifu's attire made him look like a merchant from a hundred years ago.

Old Song exclaimed: "Clothes make the man! Once the costume is on, it immediately turns decay into magic!"

Zhang Laifu looked at Old Song: "'Turns decay into magic,' isn't that an inappropriate phrase?"

"How can it be inappropriate?" Old Yu thought it was well-used, "Our Second Master is a man of letters!"

Zhang Laifu looked left and right: "Who is Second Master?"

Old Song explained to Zhang Laifu: "When filming starts, we use the character's name instead of the person's real name. My character in this drama is Second Master, and the character's setting is a man of letters."

Zhang Laifu asked: "What 'Master' am I in the crew?"

Old Yu felt there was no need to hide it from Zhang Laifu anymore: "You are the 'Seedling'."

Zhang Laifu still didn't understand: "What is a 'Seedling'?"

Old Song felt the act had to continue: "'Seedling' is a character's nickname, just like Old Yu's nickname is 'Yu the Calculator,' and Old Zheng's nickname is 'Zheng the Pipa.' Soon you'll also meet Old Liang, whose nickname is 'Liang the Wholehearted.' If you hear people calling each other by nicknames, don't be surprised; these are all requirements of the script."

Old Yu's hand rubbed the steering wheel: "Yu the Calculator is indeed my nickname. I'm good at calculating."

Old Zheng chuckled: "They call me Zheng the Pipa because I like to sing pingtan, and pingtan needs pipa accompaniment."

Zhang Laifu also laughed: "They like to call me 'Seedling' because I plant rice seedlings?"

Old Song nodded repeatedly: "That's right, you are meant for planting seedlings. When filming starts, we'll call you 'Seedling,' and when we stop, we'll still call you Laifu."

Old Song and Old Zheng also changed clothes. Even Old Yu, who was driving, changed his clothes during a red light. All three wore long gowns and felt hats, with slight differences in style. Old Song's clothes were more refined in material and craftsmanship.

After changing clothes, Old Song was not satisfied with Zhang Laifu's hairstyle: "Your hair needs to be tidied up to match the era of the script."

Zhang Laifu specifically asked: "No need to shave my head, right? Shaving sideburns costs an extra ten yuan, shaving bald costs forty. There are rules for all this."

Old Song ate his apple and said: "You must change your temporary actor habits. You are now an official employee, and everything you do must follow rules and regulations.

You must actively overcome difficulties in your work. If the crew's requirements affect your image, the company will provide appropriate compensation through performance bonuses."

Zhang Laifu asked: "What are the rules?"

"Rules cannot be introduced generally. You will undergo systematic learning once you arrive at the company."

Zhang Laifu looked at the apple in Old Song's hand. Although it wasn't a rare item, the apple's fragrance was very enticing.

"Where did you buy this apple?"

Before Old Song could answer, Old Yu interjected: "This was given by our Quartermaster. Every fruit carries the Quartermaster's deep affection and effort!"

Zhang Laifu hadn't heard this term: "What is a Quartermaster?"

"The Quartermaster manages money and provisions..."

Old Song took over: "Quartermaster is the nickname we gave him. He's a middle-level manager in our company, the head of the logistics department."

After finishing one apple, Old Song took another.

Zhang Laifu suddenly realized: "This head of the logistics department must be a woman, right? She gave you so many apples, your relationship must be quite deep."

Assistant Old Zheng turned his head and looked at Old Song.

Driver Old Yu also looked at Old Song through the rearview mirror.

Old Song looked at the apple, pursing his lips.

"Actually, it's just collegial affection, all for the sake of acting..." Old Song handed the apple in his hand to Zhang Laifu: "Laifu, you have good talent, you have a lot of 'drama' in your heart."

...

The car left the film city and drove to the distant suburbs, arriving at an office building. Zhang Laifu followed Old Song out of the car.

This office building had twenty or thirty floors. Judging by its grandeur, it should be a legitimate company. Zheng the Pipa's pingtan continuously echoed in his ears, and Zhang Laifu realized his wariness was slowly diminishing.

"Such a beautiful building, I must take a photo!" Zhang Laifu took out his phone again. Old Song didn't stop him.

Photos of this building had to be taken. Like the license plate number, these were important rescue information.

After taking more than a dozen photos, Old Yu urged: "It's almost time to go, a group of people are waiting for you here!"

Zhang Laifu put away his phone and asked Old Yu: "How many floors does this building have?"

Old Yu looked up: "Thirty-one floors."

Counted so fast?

Isn't that just a wild guess?

Old Yu was clearly unfamiliar with this building.

Zhang Laifu had counted just now; this building had thirty-two floors.

Old Zheng seriously counted behind him: "It really is thirty-one floors."

Zhang Laifu said nothing. It seemed these people were all unfamiliar with this building.

So why were they coming to this building?

Arriving at the building entrance, Old Song instructed: "Laifu, it's your first day at work, and you don't have a work pass yet. When we go through the turnstile later, you must stick close to me."

"Okay!" Zhang Laifu looked up at the office building again, seemingly feeling it had shrunk a bit.

Driver Old Yu urged from behind: "What are you looking at? We are a legitimate company, hurry and follow Second Master."

Old Song reached the door, took out a card, and passed through the first turnstile.

Before the gate closed, Old Yu pushed Zhang Laifu from behind, and he followed Old Song through the turnstile.

Ahead was a spacious hall, wider than any office building hall Zhang Laifu had ever seen.

And the decor didn't look like an office building either.

The floor was made of square stone slabs, surrounded by thick stone pillars. The ceiling was very high, looking like the dome of a Western church, with glass windows embedded high in the walls, letting in faint yellow light.

What kind of place is this?

It seems familiar, yet not quite.

People came and went in the lobby on the first floor. Some wore suits, some wore Zhongshan suits, some wore long robes, and some wore short jackets with frog buttons.

A person in uniform hurried past. Zhang Laifu wanted to go up and ask a few questions, but about ten people blocked his way. These people all bowed to Old Song.

Old Song looked at Zhang Laifu: "These are all actors. They are all seniors in the company, and you should learn more from them. On set, everyone must address each other by their character names.

This is Old Yan, this is Old Zhao, this is Old Gu, this is Old Qiao, this is Old Liang, these two are..."

There were two new faces in the crowd. Liang the Wholehearted quickly stepped forward to introduce: "This is Xiao Han, this is Xiao Meng. These are our two newly recruited actors."

Old Yu looked at Old Liang: "What actors are you recruiting? Didn't we agree before that this is our business, you don't need to worry about it!"

Old Liang smiled: "I was afraid you wouldn't have enough time, so I recruited these two from another set. Don't worry, it's not the same film base, so there won't be any trouble..."

Old Song waved his hand: "It's fine, everyone's thinking for the company. I think these two new recruits are quite good too."

Xiao Han was a man of twenty-seven or twenty-eight, impeccably dressed in a suit, dignified and professional-looking.

He was very respectful to Old Song, bowing repeatedly as he shook hands: "Manager Song, my name is Han Yucheng. It's an honor to meet you today."

Zhang Laifu said from the side: "Don't be so polite, just call him Old Song."

Old Zheng glared at Zhang Laifu: "In a work setting, pay attention to your manners."

Zhang Laifu quickly corrected himself: "In a work setting, I should call him Second Master, and I'm the Seedling."

Song Yongchang gave a dry laugh: "We're talking about characters..."

Hearing Zhang Laifu call himself 'Seedling,' the group praised him.

"Second Master is amazing, this young man looks decent, but he's actually a fool."

"Second Master's judgment is never wrong, Second Master is a man of letters!"

Zhang Laifu said to Han Yucheng: "I said my name is Seedling, did you hear me?"

Does this Han know who he is?

Han Yucheng ignored Zhang Laifu and continued speaking to Old Song: "Manager Song, I just returned from abroad. During my studies, I mainly focused on acting, and I also dabbled in directing and screenwriting. This time, I came back mainly to gain experience in the industry's top companies in China. In my future work, if there are any shortcomings..."

Han Yucheng talked too much, holding Old Song in an endless conversation.

Xiao Meng was a young woman, very beautiful, and about the same age as Zhang Laifu.

"Hello, Manager Song, my name is Meng Xuanxuan. This is my first time acting."

As she spoke, Meng Xuanxuan's face flushed, from her cheeks to her ears. She gently held Old Song's hand, holding it for a long time, reluctant to let go.

She was treating Old Song as a sugar daddy. Old Song knew what the girl was thinking, smiled, and said nothing.

Zhang Laifu couldn't stand it anymore. He glared at Meng Xuanxuan: "Don't be like that. Our Second Master already has someone in his heart."

Meng Xuanxuan pretended not to understand: "Who?"

"Our Quartermaster! Do you understand Quartermaster? The one who manages provisions and money. Our Quartermaster has apples..."

Old Song took an apple and stuffed it into Zhang Laifu's mouth, then instructed Old Yu and Old Zheng: "Go get passes for the new employees."

The two went together, but Old Yu didn't understand Old Song's order: "What passes?"

Old Zheng chuckled: "It's just buying tickets."

"If it's buying tickets, just say buying tickets. Why all the roundabout talk?"

"Isn't it so they don't figure it out? We can't let them get suspicious."

"You say Old Liang loves to show off so much, does he need to meddle in this? He just had to bring two more fools!"

"Two more fools means two more layers of insurance. What if something goes wrong on the way?"

"If you don't want anything to go wrong, you should do as I say: tie them all up, gag them, put each in a sack, and send them directly to the mountain."

Old Zheng laughed: "If you carry three sacks onto a train, will they let you on?"

"Then you sing a tune and make them follow."

"I sing all the way? Aren't you afraid of tiring me to death?"

"Then let our Second Master use his methods..."

Old Zheng shook his head: "See, you're rushing again. The ticket inspectors at the station aren't easy to fool. If you try any tricks, they'll see right through it. Let's wait until we're on the train."

The two bought the tickets. A dozen people walked through the hall and arrived at a corridor. There were more than a dozen elevators on both sides of the corridor.

Zhang Laifu exclaimed: "Why so many elevators?"

Xiao Han and Xiao Meng didn't want to bother with Zhang Laifu. This person spoke incoherently and without restraint, and he was making a fuss about an elevator. How such a fool got into the crew was beyond them.

Old Song patiently explained to Zhang Laifu: "Our company is a leader in the industry. Dozens of productions are being filmed simultaneously. To ensure the smooth operation of the crews, naturally, there are more elevators."

The elevator door opened. Old Song handed Zhang Laifu a ticket: "Hold onto this ticket, it's for the elevator operator."

What era is this? There are still elevator operators?

"What's this ticket for?"

"Haven't you heard of a work ticket? Everyone entering the crew needs a work ticket. We are a legitimate company." Old Song handed the ticket to the elevator operator, who clipped a notch in it with pliers.

Zhang Laifu looked down at the ticket in his hand. The blue cardboard ticket was densely covered with words.

He only made out the four largest numbers:

Before he could read further, Old Yu urged from behind: "Hurry up and give them the ticket, what are you dawdling for?"

Zhang Laifu handed the ticket to the elevator operator. The operator clipped a notch in the ticket and was about to hand it back to Zhang Laifu when Old Song took it.

Xiao Han and Xiao Meng's tickets were also taken.

The elevator operator shouted: "Are these all for ?"

Some responded, some remained silent, but no one said no.

The elevator operator pressed the four numbers on the touchscreen. The elevator shuddered and began to ascend.

This office building only had about thirty floors. Zhang Laifu didn't understand what meant. He asked: "Are we going to the thousandth floor?"

Han Yucheng didn't even want to look at Zhang Laifu.

Old Song also laughed: "What building can have over a thousand floors? is our crew's code name. Our crew is on a designated floor."

Whoosh!

The elevator doors opened.

The operator shouted: " has arrived!"

Outside the elevator was a narrow corridor, with tightly packed doors on both sides.

Zhang Laifu asked: "Is this our crew?"

Old Song nodded: "Let's go to the set first, filming will start soon. You need to get into character quickly."

Everyone held their tickets, looking at the numbers on them, and found their corresponding rooms.

Old Yan and Old Qiao took Han Yucheng into Room Old Song, Old Yu, and Old Zheng took Zhang Laifu into Room Old Zhao and Old Liang took Meng Xuanxuan into Room

Room 's layout looked very familiar: two -meter wide beds, a table, a wardrobe, a coat rack, and items like cups and teapots. It looked very much like a hotel twin room, except this room had no windows. At the end of the room, there was also a green-painted wooden door.

Old Zheng and Old Yu occupied both beds. Old Song led Zhang Laifu through the green-painted wooden door into the inner room.

It turned out to be a suite.

The inner room also had two beds, and it was more spacious than the outer room. The beds were meters wide, with bedside tables, paintings on the walls, bookshelves in the corners, and two French windows.

Zhang Laifu stood by the window and opened it.

The view outside the window was beautiful. Green mountains were faintly visible in the mist, and with the light drizzle, it created a misty, rainy, and poetic atmosphere.

He looked down from the window, but due to the fog, he couldn't see the ground for now.

Estimating the height from this, Zhang Laifu began to ponder a question: could he jump out of the window?

"Laifu, be careful, prevent falling from a height." Old Song was packing his luggage and casually reminded him.

Whoosh! A shadow flashed by.

Zhang Laifu suddenly looked up, feeling as if something had flown past.

Old Song sat on the bed by the window, pointed to the bed by the door, and said to Zhang Laifu: "Laifu, stop looking. Filming will start soon. You sleep on this bed."

Zhang Laifu turned back and said: "Aren't we here to act? Why are we sleeping in a hotel?"

Old Song said earnestly: "Laifu, if you want to achieve something in your acting career, you must abandon the habits of a temporary actor. You must put yourself in the right position and have the right attitude.

Is sleeping not acting? Can't you get into character while sleeping? Look at the performance state of these seniors. Can you find any traces of acting on them?

You are now playing an ordinary hotel guest, and you must, like these seniors, seamlessly get into character!"

As he spoke, Old Song pushed open the green-painted wooden door. Old Zheng and Old Yu were already asleep in the outer room.

Zhang Laifu also got into bed, pulled the covers over himself, and assumed a sleeping posture.

He took out his phone under the covers and glanced at it again, still no signal.

Hiss!

"What's that sound?"

Zhang Laifu turned his head and saw the view outside the window moving.

Old Song lay on the bed, impatiently waving his hand: "There's no sound, it's just coming from other sets. Get into character quickly."

Zhang Laifu got out of bed and took a step forward.

He first felt his legs were heavy, unable to move.

After finally taking two steps, he felt his body was very light, unable to exert force.

He walked three steps forward, then slid two steps back, feeling as if the room was tilting.

He used great effort to reach the window and peered outside.

Hiss! Hiss!

The surrounding mist was thicker than before.

In the distance, the scenery was slowly receding.

Turning his head, he glanced at the floors above and below, and Zhang Laifu was dumbfounded.

"This floor... it flew away..."
