Chapter 438 - Chapter 438: Steamrolled

Chapter 438: Steamrolled

Eyeing the Obito who'd apparently eaten the Mera Mera no Mi, Eriri's fine brows drew together slightly. She glanced over at an unconscious boy lying nearby.

This was the boy she'd pulled free from the Reincarnation Space's Obito just moments earlier — the attacker had seemed genuinely invested in him for some reason.

Putting that together with what the group quest briefing had said, Eriri found herself idly wondering: Is this boy Admin-sama's own world's Obito? Or is he Uzumaki Nagato?

Not that she was especially curious, honestly — just a passing thought.

The boy lying at her feet was still out cold, a strip of bandages wrapped around his eyes — presumably some kind of eye injury.

So this was one of the Reincarnation Space Obito's actual targets, then...

At a glance, nothing special about him, honestly. Didn't hold a candle to Admin-sama's looks, and his presence wasn't anywhere near as striking either.

Having silently grumbled her way through that thought, Eriri stopped paying the unconscious main-world Obito any further attention.

Her focus shifted back to the apparent Mera Mera no Mi user. Personally, Eriri didn't find this opponent especially strong.

Probably somewhere around her own level, if she had to guess. And Umaru was considerably stronger than she was — beating this guy senseless fell well within the range of expected outcomes.

"No wonder this only rated a Tier 5 quest. If it hadn't actually triggered a quest, Admin-sama probably wouldn't have even bothered calling anyone in — he could've crushed this guy with one finger himself."

Eriri shook her head, and her gaze, settling on the Reincarnation Space's Obito, carried a flicker of genuine pity.

"Besides, this world's got Ōtsutsuki Kaguya as a chat-group member too, on top of Admin-sama. Even if Admin-sama doesn't step in, she probably would've, right?"

Eriri remembered that Ōtsutsuki Kaguya, despite being a relatively recent addition to the group, already sat at Tier 2.

Given that, an Obito who couldn't even beat a Tier 5 member was basically dead on arrival the moment he set foot in this world — walking straight into a losing proposition without realizing it.

The Reincarnation Space's Obito had no idea what Eriri was thinking, of course.

He didn't even know who she was. As far as his own knowledge of Konoha went, there was no such person in the village at all.

Suddenly, a rush of wind tore in from one side, and Obito's pupils contracted sharply — his Sharingan simply couldn't keep pace with her movement.

A whipping kick struck him hard across the ribs, an overwhelming, savage force erupting outward in that instant.

Armament Haki had already wrapped around her leg, catching his "substance" with ease despite his flame form.

Crack...

Crack...

A faint sound of cracking bone rang out, and Obito coughed up a mouthful of crimson blood, his whole body sent flying uncontrollably in one direction.

Umaru stood calmly, having already retracted the leg she'd struck with. Observation Haki instantly locked onto where he'd landed, but she didn't press the advantage.

She'd noticed a growing crowd of onlookers nearby. The Konoha bystanders didn't concern her much.

What did catch her attention, though, were two specific faces among them — Admin-sama, and Ōtsutsuki Kaguya.

Umaru gave a small nod in Ryū's direction before turning her focus back to Obito, ignoring the drifting dust and smoke around her. "This guy's kind of weak, honestly... his Sharingan's decent, and the flame-transformation ability's not bad either, but his hand-to-hand's genuinely lacking."

Umaru wasn't a dedicated physical-combat specialist. She fell into the "hybrid mage-warrior" category — meaning, beyond Haki and the Six Powers, she'd also picked up Gensokyo's magic from Yukari, and consulted the Ancient One on sorcery as well.

Whether her hand-to-hand or her magic was actually stronger, even Umaru herself couldn't say for sure. Honestly, she just found both disciplines interesting enough to pick up both.

In the few short minutes she'd spent fighting Obito, she'd already concluded that, barring some hidden trump card, he was simply no match for her.

Hand-to-hand alone had been enough to steamroll him completely. If she'd layered magic on top of it, this Reincarnation Space Obito would've died faster — and considerably uglier.

Meanwhile, beyond Ryū and Ōtsutsuki Kaguya watching the situation unfold, Konoha's own senior leadership had now gathered at the scene as well.

With a disturbance this massive tearing through the village, there was no way they'd stay away — this was, after all, the village they'd sworn to protect.

But the moment they arrived, they found themselves genuinely stunned to discover their own presence was entirely superfluous.

There was nothing for them to do here. This was a one-sided beatdown, plain for anyone to see — the "intruder" wreaking havoc across Konoha was getting thoroughly dismantled by an unfamiliar young girl!

Which raised the obvious question — who exactly was this stranger, stepping in to defend their village?

Power on this level was genuinely hard to process. She looked to be, what, barely a teenager?

And she was apparently relying purely on hand-to-hand technique — not a single ninjutsu in sight. They couldn't even detect the faintest trace of chakra flowing from her!

Minato, Konoha's own Fourth Hokage, watched the scene unfold not far off, thoroughly astonished.

Especially when he watched that "intruder" get sent flying over a thousand meters by a single kick — a genuine shiver ran through him.

If he'd taken a hit like that himself, he doubted he'd walk away without at least crippling injuries. And that kick had looked like it caught the man square in the kidney.

Hiss... genuinely terrifying.

"That strength, that overwhelming hand-to-hand style, that speed — and the reaction time, utterly absurd. Power, technique, and speed, all pushed to a level that defies belief. She's practically a monster."

Minato murmured the observation gravely, having sensed an overwhelming, unmatched presence radiating off Umaru.

If he ever actually fought that girl himself, he suspected speed might be the only edge he'd have.

He even found himself doubting whether his Rasengan, landed square on her, would do anything at all.

Hand-to-hand technique on that level had to be backed by an equally monstrous physical constitution. Which meant even a direct hit from his Rasengan might not be enough to seriously injure her.
