Chapter 1 - 1-A DragonKin

The End dinension.

A silent dimension of endless darkness and floating islands of pale End Stone. No sun ever rose there, no wind ever blew. Only the quiet hum of the void and the distant, echoing cries of Endermen wandering across the islands.

For ages, the dimension had a single ruler.

The Ender Dragon.

It guarded the portal that led back to the Overworld, circling high above the obsidian pillars. Many players entered the End seeking glory and treasure, but the dragon stood as the final challenge—an ancient guardian that ensured only the strongest could leave alive.

But even guardians fall.

On that day, the sky of the End trembled with a final roar as the Ender Dragon collapsed. Its enormous body crashed against the obsidian towers before falling toward the bedrock fountain below.

Standing beneath the fading glow of the dying dragon was the one who had defeated it.

A voidling.

His name was MinuteTech.

Most voidlings were creatures of chaos and ambition. If one of them had slain the Ender Dragon, they would have celebrated, claimed the End as their territory, and used its resources to build their power.

But MinuteTech did not celebrate.

As the dragon took its final breath, its glowing purple eyes turned toward something resting beside the portal fountain.

The egg.

The last remnant of its kind.

The dragon looked back at MinuteTech one last time. There was no rage in its gaze—only a quiet request.

A final wish.

Protect the child.

Protect the End.

MinuteTech remained silent for a long moment after the dragon's body dissolved into drifting particles of light.

Then he walked toward the egg and placed a hand gently against the smooth purple shell.

"I understand," he said quietly.

From that moment on, MinuteTech made a decision.

He would not rule the End.

He would guard it.

And he would honor the dragon's final wish.

Days passed.

Then weeks.

The egg remained silent atop the bedrock fountain, glowing faintly with a purple light.

MinuteTech visited it every day. He didn't quite know why he felt responsible for it, but every time he looked at the egg, he remembered the dragon's final gaze.

Then one day, the shell cracked.

A thin line appeared across the surface.

MinuteTech immediately knelt beside it.

Another crack followed.

Then another.

The egg finally split open.

A small creature slowly crawled out of the broken shell.

Tiny wings.

Soft purple scales that shimmered faintly in the dim light of the End.

Bright glowing eyes filled with curiosity.

A DragonKin.

The small dragon looked up at MinuteTech and chirped softly.

For a moment, the two stared at each other in silence.

MinuteTech blinked.

"Well… I guess you're mine now," he muttered.

He gently picked up the tiny creature.

After thinking for a moment, he smiled slightly.

"I'll call you Wemmbu."

The little dragon happily wrapped its tiny claws around his arm.

And just like that…

MinuteTech became a father.

Years later, the End was no longer as quiet as it once was.

"WEMMBU! WHERE ARE YOU?!"

MinuteTech's voice echoed across the floating islands.

Several Endermen turned their heads before returning to their silent wandering.

A purple blur flew between two chorus trees before landing behind a large pillar of End Stone.

MinuteTech narrowed his eyes.

"There you are, you little brat," he said, stepping closer.

Wemmbu slowly peeked out from behind the pillar.

"Hi, Dad."

MinuteTech crossed his arms.

"Where have you been?"

"I told you earlier," Wemmbu replied casually. "I was exploring the Outer Islands."

MinuteTech was about to lecture him.

Then he suddenly froze.

"…Why are you naked?"

Wemmbu looked down at himself.

"…Uh…"

MinuteTech grabbed a small set of clothes he had made.

Before Wemmbu could escape, MinuteTech tried forcing them onto him.

"GET AWAY FROM ME!"

"NOT UNTIL YOU PUT THESE ON!"

"THEY'RE ITCHY!"

"I SPENT THREE HOURS MAKING THEM!"

The struggle lasted several minutes.

Endermen nearby silently watched the chaotic battle between the guardian of the End and a very stubborn dragon child.

Eventually…

Wemmbu lost.

Later that night, the young DragonKin slept peacefully on a pile of End Stone.

The clothes were still on him.

MinuteTech sat nearby, watching the child quietly.

In his sleep, Wemmbu looked calm and innocent—nothing like the troublemaker he was during the day.

MinuteTech sighed.

"…Such a troublemaker."

But despite his complaints, a small smile appeared on his face.

Because deep down…

He knew the End was no longer empty.

And for the first time since the dragon's death, the silent dimension had something new.

A future.

Time passed differently in the End.

Days felt like years, and years slipped by like drifting particles in the void.

Wemmbu grew quickly.

The tiny dragon that once fit in MinuteTech's arms was no longer so small. His wings had grown wide and strong, his purple scales brighter, and his curiosity about everything in the End had only gotten worse.

MinuteTech had expected many things when he decided to raise the dragonling.

Chaos.

Trouble.

Endless questions.

What he didn't expect… was what happened next.

It began one quiet night near the bedrock fountain.

Wemmbu had been staring at the portal for a long time.

"Dad?" he asked.

MinuteTech looked up from the Netherite tools he was repairing.

"Yes?"

"Why do players look like… that?"

MinuteTech raised an eyebrow.

"Like what?"

"Like you," Wemmbu said.

MinuteTech sighed slightly.

"Because I took a human-like form long ago. It's easier to interact with the Overworld that way."

Wemmbu tilted his head.

"…Can I do that?"

MinuteTech paused.

DragonKin were powerful creatures. Far stronger than ordinary dragons in some ways. But they were also unpredictable.

"Maybe," MinuteTech said slowly. "But it usually takes many years of growth."

Wemmbu simply nodded and wandered off toward the edge of one of the islands.

MinuteTech returned to his work.

Then a loud crack of energy split the air.

MinuteTech's head snapped up.

A burst of purple light exploded across the island.

"Wemmbu?!"

He rushed toward the edge of the island.

When the light finally faded…

Wemmbu was standing there.

But something had changed.

His large dragon body was gone.

In its place stood a small boy with messy purple hair and glowing violet eyes. Small black horns curved slightly from the sides of his head, and behind him stretched a pair of sleek dragon wings.

MinuteTech blinked.

"…You've got to be kidding me."

Wemmbu looked down at himself in surprise.

"Whoa."

He flexed his fingers.

Then his wings.

Then he looked up at MinuteTech with a huge grin.

"DAD LOOK!"

Before MinuteTech could respond—

Wemmbu jumped.

His wings spread wide, catching the invisible currents of the void.

He shot into the air.

"WEMMBU—"

Too late.

The young DragonKin was already flying wildly above the islands.

"THIS IS AMAZING!" Wemmbu shouted as he looped through the air.

MinuteTech rubbed his forehead.

"…Of course the first thing he does is fly."

Wemmbu dived toward the island at incredible speed before pulling up at the last second.

Then he attempted a spin.

Then another.

Then—

CRASH.

He slammed into a chorus tree.

The entire tree burst into purple fruit and dust.

MinuteTech walked over slowly.

Wemmbu lay upside down in the branches.

"…I meant to do that," he muttered.

MinuteTech stared at him.

"…You lasted thirty seconds."

"Thirty-one," Wemmbu corrected.

MinuteTech sighed.

Then he tossed something toward him.

Clothes.

"Put them on."

Wemmbu groaned.

"Dad…"

"Put. Them. On."

Some things, it seemed…

would never change.

But as MinuteTech looked up at the sky of the End, watching the young DragonKin stretch his wings again…

He knew something important had happened.

Wemmbu was no longer just the child of the Ender Dragon.

He was something new.

A creature of two worlds.
