Chapter 6 - The beat that finds its way.

The morning sun pierced through the gaps of the east tower, spreading warm light onto the cold stone floor. Kael stood at the edge of the balcony, his hand gripping his training sword tightly, but now there was no anxiety controlling him.

Tick….

Tick….

Tick….

The sound of his heartbeat could still be heard, but it was more stable, more connected with the world around him. Fast footsteps were heard from the stairs.

"I arrived right on time," Aether's voice was heard, full of energy, but Kael only nodded without turning.

Aether smiled, but his eyes caught something different in Kael. "You look… more… present. As if the rhythm within you has begun to synchronize." Kael took a deep breath. "Maybe… I'm starting to understand. It feels… no longer about controlling power, but aligning myself with it."

Aether nodded. "That is the essence of Chrono Halo. Not a power that forces the world to adjust to you, but instead you adjust yourself to the flow of time."

Kael looked at his sword. A thin light from the Chrono Halo still glowed, soft, dancing at the tip of the blade. He smiled faintly. "So… my power is not about destroying, but… giving a second chance?"

Aether smiled wider this time. "Exactly. And you are not alone. 'Maren will always be a reminder, even when the world forgets'."

Kael lowered his head for a moment, letting his thoughts and feelings calm down. Then, slowly, he stepped into the center of the training room.

Tick…

Tick…

Tick…

The beat now felt like music, not a threat.

One movement after another, his training sword danced in the air. Every swing followed the beat of his own heart, every step felt… right. There was no worry. No guilt. Only… rhythm.

"I understand now," he whispered. "This power… will be mine, but also this world's. I will find my path… without destroying what should be protected."

Aether nodded, satisfied. "Begin today. Slowly, but surely. This world is waiting, Kael. And I know you are ready."

Outside the tower, the morning wind blew gently, sweeping away the thin mist covering the academy garden. Sunlight struck Kael's sword, making it glow as if welcoming a new day. Tick… tick… tick… and for the first time, that beat felt like home.
