Levi stood at the fork in the narrow mountain path, quietly observing the surroundings.
This was the fourth location he had searched based on the vague memories buried deep within his mind.
Nearly eighteen years ago, Levi was born into this world where humans and Pokémon lived together.
To Levi, this world felt both familiar and unfamiliar.
Familiar… because of the countless memories he had of watching Ash Ketchum and Pikachu in the Pokémon anime.
Unfamiliar… because this was no longer a screen or a game cartridge.
This was real life.
The towering forests, the crisp mountain air, and the distant cries of wild Pokémon were all tangible.
Everything that had once existed only in anime and video games was now the reality he lived in every single day.
Recently, his home had been temporarily demolished for renovation, and the Pokémon Breeding House his family managed had also closed for reconstruction.
His parents had taken the opportunity to travel across several regions for inspiration.

"That Metang has a terrible temper. Honestly, I hope no one else gets hurt trying to catch it."
Levi's eyes lit up instantly.
He approached their table with a polite smile.
"Excuse me… would you mind telling me more about it?"
"I'll pay for your ramen."
Seeing Levi's sincere expression and hearing the word free meal the two trainers naturally didn't refuse.
A short while later…
After paying the bill and gathering the information he needed, Levi headed straight toward Rikai Town's back mountain.
Standing on the mountain trail, Levi took out two Luxury Balls.
With a smooth motion, he threw them forward.
"Lucario. Arcanine."
"I'm counting on you."
Two flashes of light appeared.
A majestic Arcanine landed on the ground first—its thick orange fur flowing like flames, black stripes across its body, and a magnificent bushy tail swaying proudly behind it.
Beside it stood Lucario, tall and calm, its blue-and-black body radiating quiet strength. The white spike on its chest glinted under the sunlight.
Lucario placed one fist against its chest respectfully.
Leave it to me.
Through Aura, Lucario transmitted its voice directly into Levi's mind.
Arcanine raised its head proudly and let out a confident howl.
"Awooo!"

Levi chuckled.
Lucario then knelt on one knee and gently placed its palm against the ground.
A faint blue ripple spread outward.

Within moments, the entire surrounding landscape appeared in Lucario's mind.
Meanwhile, Arcanine sprinted off like an arrow released from a bow, lowering its head as it sniffed the air.
Its nose twitched rapidly.
Less than fifteen minutes later
Lucario suddenly opened its eyes.
Found it.
Excitement flickered in its voice.
Following the path along the mountainside, Levi soon reached a rocky cliff overlooking a deep gully.
Lucario pointed downward.
It's below.
Levi stepped forward and shouted into the valley.
"Metang!"
"Come out!"
His voice echoed through the mountains.
A moment later
A metallic buzzing sound echoed from below.
A disc-shaped Pokémon suddenly rose into the air.
Its body gleamed brilliantly under the sunlight.
Two powerful arms extended from its sides, and sharp golden spikes protruded from its joints.
But what made Levi's eyes widen
Was its color.
Normal Metang possessed a steel-blue body.
But this one…
Shone with a dazzling silver metallic luster.
A Shiny Metang.
Levi couldn't help grinning.
"Seriously… how can a Pokémon look this cool?"
The diameter of the Pokémon's disc-shaped body was nearly one meter wide, significantly larger than the average Metang.
The silver Pokémon stared down at Levi with its crimson eyes, expression unreadable.

Arcanine stepped forward proudly.
A powerful pressure suddenly radiated from its body.

Normally, this ability would lower the opponent's Attack.

The silver Metang's body briefly shimmered with metallic light.
Arcanine tilted its head.
"Woof?"
Levi quickly understood.
"So that's it…"
"Your ability is Clear Body."
Clear Body prevents a Pokémon's stats from being lowered by opponents.
"Looks like Intimidate won't work."
Before Levi could give another command
The Shiny Metang attacked first.
Its right claw glowed with metallic energy.
Metal Claw!
The attack slashed downward toward Arcanine's head.
"Endure it!"
"Use Will-O-Wisp at close range!"
CLANG!
Metal Claw struck Arcanine squarely.
But at the same moment
Three eerie purple flames erupted around Arcanine's body.
They spiraled forward and exploded against Metang.
BOOM!
Ghostly flames clung to Metang's body.
Burn status inflicted.
Levi nodded with satisfaction.
"Clear Body blocks stat drops… but it can't stop status conditions."
The Shiny Metang's eyes flickered with pain.
"Arcanine!"
"Flamethrower!"
Arcanine opened its jaws.
A torrent of blazing fire burst forward.
The flames engulfed Metang and slammed it against the cliff wall.

A faint blue glow suddenly surrounded Arcanine.
Its body lifted off the ground.
"What?!"
Arcanine floated awkwardly in midair, its legs paddling helplessly.
Levi frowned.
"Psychic-type move… Confusion."
Even while burned, the Shiny Metang still managed to retaliate.
Levi's eyes lit up.
"This Pokémon really is talented."
"Arcanine!"
"Break free!"
"Use Flare Blitz!"
"Awoooo!"
Arcanine roared.
Flames erupted across its body as it broke free from the psychic grip and launched forward like a blazing comet.
Metang attempted to dodge.
But the burn damage slowed its movement.
CRASH!
Flare Blitz struck directly.
Metang was blasted backward into the cliff wall.
"Finish it!"
"Extreme Speed!"
This wasn't a turn-based battle like in the games.
When an opportunity appeared
You had to press the advantage.
Before Metang could recover
Arcanine pushed off the cliffside.
Its body glowed white as it accelerated to blinding speed.
In an instant
It appeared directly in front of the falling Metang.
BOOM!
The impact echoed across the valley.
Metang crashed to the ground.
Its eyes spun.
It had fainted.
Levi exhaled.
"Huh… people made it sound much harder."
"That was actually pretty straightforward."
He took out a Luxury Ball.
Black body.
Golden center stripe.
Red accents.
One of the most comfortable Poké Balls available.
"Alright…"
"Go!"
The ball flew through the air.
A red beam absorbed the unconscious Metang instantly.
The Luxury Ball dropped to the ground.
It didn't even shake once.

Capture complete.
Levi picked up the Poké Ball.
Lucario reappeared beside him.
Arcanine wagged its tail proudly.
Levi raised the Luxury Ball high into the sky.
"Silver Metang"
"Get☆Daze!"
"Lucario!"
"Awooo!"
At that exact moment
Levi's Pokétch suddenly chimed.
Then a translucent blue screen appeared in front of him.
