That evening Autumn worked late in the art room.
The building was nearly empty.
She didn't hear the door open behind her.
But she felt it.
That presence.
"You really do watch people."
She turned.
Luca stood in the doorway.
"What are you doing here?"
"Looking for you."
Her pulse jumped.
"You found me."
He stepped inside.
The room felt smaller instantly.
Paint, charcoal, scattered sketches.
He stopped beside her work.
"You drew this tonight?"
She nodded.
It was a sketch of the beach.
And the bonfire.
And two figures standing near the water.
Luca looked at it for a long moment.
"Is that us?"
Autumn swallowed.
"Maybe."
