Chapter 1 - Chapter 1:The Silent Car

Winter had wrapped the city in a cold, quiet embrace.

Only a week remained before Christmas Eve, and the streets were already glowing with festive decorations.

Red ribbons hung from street lamps, shop windows sparkled with golden lights, and artificial snow covered the glass displays of crowded stores.

Children laughed as they walked with their parents, pointing excitedly at Christmas trees and toy shops.

But not every corner of the city was filled with joy.

A few streets away from the lively shopping district stood the Central Police Station, a gray concrete building that looked lifeless compared to the festive surroundings.

The street beside the station was quiet.

Too quiet.

Snowflakes drifted slowly through the air, carried by a freezing wind that whispered through the empty road..

It was nearly midnight.

Inside the police station, the night shift officers struggled to stay awake.

Officer Daniel Morris leaned back in his chair, staring at the monitor in front of him.

"Another boring night," he muttered.

Across the room, Officer Blake chuckled while sipping coffee.

"Enjoy it while it lasts. Christmas week always gets crazy."

Daniel sighed.

"Yeah, but tonight feels dead. Not even a drunk driver."

Blake shrugged.

"Maybe the city finally decided to behave."

Outside the station, a single streetlamp flickered weakly.

And beneath that light—

A black car sat quietly on the roadside.

It looked ordinary at first glance.

But something about it felt… wrong.

The headlights were off.

The engine was silent.

And the license plate was missing.

Snow had begun collecting on the hood, indicating the car had been there for some time.

Yet no one had noticed it.

Not until Officer Daniel glanced at the security camera.

His eyes narrowed.

"Hey… Blake."

Blake didn't look up.

"What?"

Daniel pointed at the screen.

"When did that car get there?"

Blake lazily walked over and stared at the monitor.

The grainy security footage showed the vehicle parked just outside the station.

Blake frowned.

"I didn't see anyone park there."

Daniel checked the recording timeline.

"Strange…"

He rewound the footage.

The two officers leaned closer to the monitor.

The video skipped back several minutes.

The road appeared empty.

Then suddenly—

The car was there.

Daniel blinked.

"Wait… what?"

Blake scratched his head.

"Did the camera glitch?"

Daniel rewound again.

Same result.

One moment the road was empty.

The next moment, the black car had appeared as if it had materialized out of nowhere.

A chill ran down Daniel's spine.

"That's impossible."

Blake forced a laugh.

"Relax. Probably just a frame skip."

Still, the uneasy feeling remained.

Daniel stood up.

"I'm going to check it."

Blake groaned.

"Seriously? It's probably nothing."

Daniel grabbed his jacket.

"Still suspicious."

The cold wind hit his face as he stepped outside the station.

The street was silent.

Christmas lights flickered faintly in the distance, but here, everything felt strangely empty.

Daniel slowly approached the car.

Crunch.Crunch.

His boots pressed into the thin layer of snow.

The black vehicle looked old.

Dust and frost covered the windows.

Daniel tried to peek inside.

He wiped a small patch of frost from the glass.

Darkness filled the interior.

No driver.No passengers.

Just an empty seat.

Daniel circled the vehicle.

Still no license plate.

"What the hell…" he muttered.

He tried the door handle.Locked.

Blake stepped outside behind him.

"So?"

Daniel shrugged.

"No one inside."

Blake glanced around.

"Maybe it was abandoned."

Daniel frowned.

"Near a police station? Without plates?"

Blake didn't respond.

Instead, he noticed something unusual.

"Daniel…"

"What?"

Blake pointed toward the back of the car.

"Look at that."

Daniel walked around to the rear.

There, barely visible beneath the snow, was a small metal box attached to the underside of the vehicle.

Daniel leaned closer.

His eyes widened.

"Is that…?"

Blake's voice trembled.

"A bomb."

For a moment, neither of them moved.

Then Daniel shouted—

"GET BACK!"

But it was already too late.

Inside the car—

A tiny red light began blinking.

Beep.Beep.Beep.

Daniel's heart pounded violently.

"RUN!"

The two officers sprinted toward the station.

The red light blinked faster.

Beep.Beep.Beepbeepbeep—

Then—

BOOOOOOOOM!!!

The explosion tore through the night like a thunderclap from hell.

A massive fireball erupted from the car, sending shockwaves across the entire street.

Glass shattered.

Concrete cracked.

The roadway split apart as flames engulfed the surrounding area.

The police station windows exploded inward.

Inside the building, officers were thrown to the ground by the violent blast.

Smoke and debris filled the air.

Outside, flames rose into the freezing night sky.

Cars parked nearby were flipped over like toys.

The once quiet street had become a burning battlefield.

Sirens began screaming across the city.

Fire trucks and ambulances rushed toward the scene.

Panic spread quickly.

Residents poured out of their homes, staring at the destruction in shock.

"What happened?!"

"Was it a terrorist attack?!"

"No… it came from the police station!"

The explosion had destroyed half the roadway.

A deep crater now burned where the car once stood.

Emergency responders rushed to rescue the injured officers.

Miraculously, Daniel and Blake had survived—though both were severely injured.

But the mystery had only just begun.

Because when investigators searched the area…

They found nothing. No vehicle fragments. No license plate. No identification numbers.

Even the bomb components were strangely missing.

It was as if the car had never existed.

Detective Laura Hayes stood near the burning crater, her expression dark.

"This doesn't make sense," she murmured.

Her partner shook his head.

"It's like the evidence disappeared."

Laura stared at the destroyed street.

A single thought echoed in her mind.

This wasn't an ordinary crime.

Someone had planned this perfectly.

And this explosion…

Was only the beginning.

Far away from the burning street, on top of a tall building overlooking the city—

A lone figure stood in the shadows.

The cold wind blew through his dark coat as he watched the distant flames.

Police sirens echoed through the night.

The figure smiled faintly.

"Phase one…"

His voice was calm.Almost amused.

From his pocket, he pulled out a small photograph.

The image showed several police officers standing together in front of the station.

One by one, their faces had been marked with red crosses.

Except for one.

The figure gently traced the remaining face with his finger.

"Christmas is a time for celebration…"

His smile widened slightly.

"But for you…"

"…it will be a time for judgment."

He folded the photograph and slipped it back into his pocket.

Snow began falling harder, covering the city in white silence.

Behind him, a small Christmas decoration flickered weakly.

And beneath the dim light, the shadowed figure whispered softly—

"Let the game begin."
