Later that afternoon Emily noticed something unexpected.
An elderly janitor was struggling to push a heavy cleaning cart down the hallway.
Before Emily could help—
Alexander stepped forward.
Without saying anything, he grabbed the cart and pushed it for him.
The old man smiled gratefully.
"Thank you, Mr. Knight."
Alexander nodded and walked away.
Emily stared.
She hurried after him.
"You just helped him."

Emily crossed her arms.
"You act cold all the time."
