Chapter 67 - Chapter 67 Lucifer

Chapter 67 Lucifer

As the first angel born and the first to be named by God.

Lucifer always considered himself superior to the other angels.

And that stinking raven?

Just a pet.

He was a creation of the Lord himself, and could rightfully call himself the Son of God, far surpassing that raven in status.

In terms of soul strength, he was far superior to the other angels. Ordinary angels had only one pair of wings, archangels had two or three pairs, and even that annoying Michael had only eight wings.

He had a full twelve wings!

His holy wings resembled a blooming lily.

Just from his aura, he was significantly more powerful than the other angels…

In reality, the other angels respected this seemingly aloof elder brother.

Furthermore, Michael and the other seven archangels generally did not object to obeying Lucifer's commands.

However, sometimes this aloof elder brother would inexplicably do things that baffled the other angels…

"Don't you think Heaven is too chaotic?"

"It's a mess, like a huge market, nobody knows what they're supposed to do…"

"I will assign responsibilities and establish rules for the angels!"

Lucifer stood atop the archway of Valhalla.

Below him were over a hundred bewildered angels, their twelve wings fluttering behind them like blooming petals.

The angels gathered in the open space before Valhalla, pondering Lucifer's words. They shook their heads, then nodded. Most of them felt there was some truth to what Lucifer said, but they didn't quite understand why.

At this moment, Michael, fresh from completing his mission and brimming with glory, stepped forward. He asked疑惑地问道:

"Brother Lucifer, I feel fine…"

"If I want to do anything, I just call out, and everyone comes to help…"

"We help each other like brothers and sisters…"

"Is it necessary to be like in the mortal realm, divided by rank, status, and position?"

For some reason, Lucifer felt annoyed at the sight of Michael.

He took a step forward, like a bolt of lightning, instantly standing before Michael.

Lucifer, with his dark hair and crimson pupils, stared into Michael's azure eyes. Six pairs of wings behind him spread wide, like a puffed-up cat. His tone carried a threatening undertone:

"Don't question my decision..."

"Michael, although you have fulfilled the Lord's task well..."

"But this is no reason for your arrogance..."

"You must respect me..."

"For I am Lucifer, the Morning Star, the eldest of all angels."

Michael, who had performed the task, saw a flash of anger in his eyes, but he suppressed his resentment and frustration for the time being.

He was no longer a child.

He was now a mature angel,

and so he said to Lucifer before him:

"Very well, but I hope your arrangement will satisfy everyone..."

"If the angels don't like it, then we cannot do it..."

Lucifer felt immense satisfaction at Michael's humiliation and resignation.

So he flew into the air again, his twelve wings almost obscuring the sky.

He looked down at the angels and said:

"I should be the ruler of the angels…"

"All angels should acknowledge me as their king…"

"Whether present or future…"

"For I am the eldest of the angels, I am Lucifer the Morning Star…"

The angels hesitated, asking:

"You are a king…"

"Then what is the Lord?"

"Do you intend to be equal to God?"2

Lucifer was startled.1

He looked around but did not see the Lord.

He breathed a sigh of relief and quickly explained:

"The Lord is our God…"

"And I… am your king…"1

"Normally you must obey me, but if the Lord has a will, then you must obey the Lord…"

The angels looked at each other, then fell silent.

Seeing that the angels had no objections, Lucifer, full of vigor, began to lay out his grand plan. He said:

"First, we must build an army!"

"I will be the commander-in-chief of this legion..."

"Anyone who dares to obstruct the Lord's will will be swept away by my legion!"

"..."

Lucifer flew through the air, speaking eloquently and incessantly.

But as he elaborated on his ideas, the angels on the clouds grew increasingly noisy and displeased.

"Ah... I don't like fighting at all... Why do I have to be the vanguard?"

"Why am I left to guard Heaven?!"

"I can't even fly, I can't be a scout..."

"..."

Even in the end, the seven archangels with immense power were assigned to insignificant positions, especially the archangel with powerful combat talent—Michael—

"Michael, you are responsible for reconnaissance and healing the wounded."3

"..."

When the last angel's name was read...

The godlike Michael...

his expression finally darkened...3

The remaining angels complained, feeling disappointed by this responsibility that didn't suit them.

In the end, those utterly disappointed angels...

They all turned their gazes to Michael, their eyes fervent and pleading. They needed someone to stand up for them...

But Michael was never a good-tempered angel. Knowing his angelic brethren's displeasure, and having long since had enough of Lucifer's arrogant demeanor...

So Michael stepped forward from among the angels, standing tall and angrily proclaiming:

"Lucifer..."

"I disagree!"

"You cannot be the King of Angels..."

"For we are the Lord's creation, and only the Lord can determine our will..."

"Only the Lord, who is God..." "It's the King again..."

"And your allocation of responsibilities is also unacceptable..."

"Because you don't care what the angels are good at or what they like; you just act according to your own ideas!"

"I am the most skilled in battle among all the angels, yet you assign me the responsibilities of reconnaissance and healing..."

"Raguel is the kindest and most righteous, yet you give him the position of vanguard!"

"Gabriel is skilled in communication and interaction with all things, yet you leave him to guard Heaven, doing nothing..."

"All of this..."

"It's utterly a mess!"

The moment these words were spoken,

Lucifer's crimson pupils, like a dragon's, fixed intently on Michael. Behind him, twelve wings, obscuring the sky, rose and fell with the air currents...

Michael, not to be outdone, instantly unleashed a burst of golden light, and eight holy wings grew with the wind, obscuring another half of the sky.

Soaring into the air, he confronted Lucifer...

For a moment, the atmosphere seemed to freeze...

The angels on the ground watched with anxious concern.

They hoped Michael could stop Lucifer's arrogant will, but they also feared that their fellow angels would lash out in anger, even turning on each other...

"What do you want?"1

Lucifer stood in the air, his red eyes seemingly piercing, instilling an unfathomable fear in everyone...

Michael stared directly into Lucifer's eyes and shouted:

"I want you to use your brain, sit down with the angels and discuss things properly!!"2

"Instead of standing here arrogantly—"

"To oppress the angels in the name of the Morning Star!"

*Swoosh—*

With a sound, the longsword was drawn... A longsword, wreathed in black and gold flames, appeared from the void...

He stood in the air, sword in hand, twelve wings unfurling behind him...

His crimson eyes stared at Michael, the man he loathed so deeply...

Lucifer's voice echoed from the heavens—

"Glorious Michael...my brother..."

"You have never respected me..."

"Fight me in Valhalla..."

"Let me tear off your hypocritical mask...remove your...false reputation for bravery!"

"Let me show you what...respect is!"
