Chapter 131 - Chapter 40: A Sweet Misunderstanding

The young maid trembled under David's intense, predatory gaze, backing away slightly. "N-No, Sir... nothing at all..."

David leaned in, his dark eyes narrowing into slits. "Really...?"

Tears spilled down her pale cheeks in sheer terror. David rolled his eyes in annoyance, shoving her hard onto the stone floor. "Get out of my sight, you pathetic trash."

The maid collapsed onto her knees, lowering her head to the cold floor. "I am so sorry, my Lord..."

David smirked down at her. "Yeah... keep your voice low like that." He turned on his heel and walked out of the grand court, his black cape trailing behind him.

Left alone in the quiet hall, the maid looked up at the empty air, her eyes brimming with tears. "Lady Nyxara... if you're watching us from wherever you are... please look at what he's doing..."

She clutched her hands tightly over her chest, whispering in a broken voice, "He killed my mother and my father... and now he blackmails me, threatening to kill my younger brother if I don't serve as his personal maid..."

Wiping her tears, she slowly pushed herself up and smoothed out her dress.

Down the long, dimly lit corridor, David strolled side by side with the brainwashed succubus.

"I will do anything for you..." David murmured softly, putting on a gentle, charming smile.

The succubus smiled back mindlessly, holding his arm tightly. "Me too, my Lord..."

"Then let's make a promise," David whispered, resting his hand over hers as they walked deeper into the castle.

Unbeknownst to anyone in the fortress, the lingering ghost of the dead demon husband was floating through the grand hallways. He stared at David with wet, tear-stained eyes, filled with unbearable agony.

You monster... the ghost wept silently. You killed me, took my wife, and threw my helpless children into the human world...

With a final, heartbroken sigh, the ghost's spiritual form dissolved into golden dust, vanishing into thin air.

Meanwhile, on Earth, a spatial ripple tore open in front of the massive Redgrave Group skyscraper. Two small children tumbled onto the sidewalk, looking around in complete confusion and fear.

The tiny demon girl held onto her older brother's sleeve tightly, trembling. "B-Brother... where are we? What are these tall metal towers? And what are those metal monsters eating humans and rolling down the street?!"

The young boy gripped her hand firmly, shielding her behind his back. "Arue, don't be scared. Look closely... those metal monsters aren't attacking anyone."

Arue blinked her big eyes, nodding softly. "O-Okay, Brother..."

SQUEAL!

A sleek black sedan driven by Renjiro pulled up near the main gates. As he prepared to enter the underground parking, he caught sight of the two bewildered children standing near the entrance.

Parking the car to the side, Renjiro stepped out and walked toward them with a friendly smile. "Hey there! What are you two doing out here all by yourselves?"

The young boy immediately stepped in front of his sister, pointing a finger at the car in awe. "Uncle! That metal monster ate you earlier! How did you get out of its stomach?!"

Renjiro burst into a warm laugh, though a curious thought crossed his mind: Wait... they think a car is a monster? Normal human kids wouldn't say that... Are they from another realm?

He reached out to hold their hands, but Arue suddenly panicked, screaming at the top of her lungs, "Brother! Run! He's going to catch us!"

Her sharp scream instantly attracted the attention of nearby pedestrians and office workers. Everyone stopped in their tracks, staring at Renjiro and the two frightened children.

Some passing employees recognized Renjiro and chuckled, reassuring the kids. "Don't worry, little ones! That's Master Renjiro! He fights alongside Mr. Redgrave to protect the city. He won't kidnap you!"

Renjiro offered a sheepish bow to the crowd before kneeling down in front of the children. "What are your names?"

ROAR!

A gleaming white Lamborghini skidded to a graceful stop behind Renjiro's car. The door opened, and Sarina stepped out, looking effortlessly stylish in a sharp white corporate suit and dark sunglasses. Her long pink hair swayed softly in the breeze.

Seeing Renjiro hovering over the terrified kids, Sarina walked up behind him and delivered a swift, playful punch to the back of his head!

POW!

"Hey! What do you think you're doing, scaring these poor kids?!" Sarina scolded.

The surrounding crowd gasped in shock, whispering among themselves.

"Is she crazy?!" a passerby murmured. "Punching Master Renjiro like that?! The Vrenj Group is going to get wiped out!"

Renjiro rubbed his head, straightening his back with a pained smile. "Hey! Is that any way to treat someone in public?!"

Sarina removed her sunglasses, smirking playfully. "And is that any way to talk to little kids?"

The two demon children stared at the couple in utter bewilderment.

Sarina kneeled down gently, stroking their hair with a warm, comforting smile. "Don't mind him. Tell me, what are your names?"

The young boy hesitated for a second before answering softly, "I'm Sarue..."

Sarina repeated it warmly, "Sa-ru-e?"

He nodded, pointing to his sister. "And she is my younger sister, Arue."

"Aa-ru-e," Sarina repeated with a smile. "Got it!" She stood up and took both of their hands gently. "Come on, let's head inside the office. This building belongs to my brother-in-law."

The onlookers were stunned, instantly assuming she meant Rexon was her boyfriend. But before anyone could spread more rumors, Sarina reached over and grabbed Renjiro's hand, winking at him.

"Let's go, boyfriend!" she teased cleanly.

The crowd's wild theories vanished instantly as the valet took the Lamborghini key.

Sarina led Renjiro, Sarue, and Arue through the private executive elevator directly up to Kael's top-floor office.

When the heavy doors slid open, an absurd scene greeted them.

Kael's five ancient souls were currently manifested in their physical forms throughout the room!

Drakes was lounging casually on the leather sofa, holding a light novel and laughing hysterically at the comedy scenes. Nyxara stood near the floor-to-ceiling glass window, her glowing red eyes staring quietly out at the city skyline. Vajr sat at the coffee table, calmly sipping a cup of hot black coffee. Azune was floating aimlessly near the ceiling, while Xiyan sat behind Kael's executive desk, casually reviewing financial documents.

Meanwhile, Kael himself was fast asleep on another sofa, snoring quietly with a pillow over his face.

Sarina slapped her hand against her forehead in disbelief. "Unbelievable... He's literally taking the best break in corporate history."

Renjiro stepped into the office, looking around. "Where is he—oh, there he is."

The two demon children stepped into the room, their eyes scanning the strange figures. But the moment their gazes landed on Nyxara, their breath hitched in pure shock.

They recognized that dark, majestic aura instantly—it was the ancient Supreme Demon Lord their grandfather used to tell them bedtime stories about!

Without a second thought, Sarue and Arue ran straight toward Nyxara, dropping to their knees before her. "My Lord!"

Nyxara turned around, her red eyes softening in surprise. "Wait... aren't you two the grandchildren of old Tomokashi?"

The children looked up, tears of relief welling in their eyes as they smiled brightly. "Yes, Lady Nyxara!"

The commotion finally woke Kael up. He pulled the pillow off his face and rubbed his eyes. Seeing Sarina and Renjiro was normal, but when his eyes landed on the two strange children kneeling before Nyxara, he nearly jumped off the sofa in shock!

"WHAT THE HELL?!" Kael yelled, pointing a trembling finger at them. "Where did these kids come from?!"

Renjiro raised an eyebrow, smirking. "What's wrong?"

Kael stared between Renjiro and Sarina, panic in his voice. "Since when did you two have children before getting married?!"

Sarina burst into a bright, amused laugh. "Why? Is it impossible for us to have kids?"

Kael shook his head rapidly, stumbling over his words. "N-No! You can! But I literally saw you this morning! Your stomach wasn't bloated—you weren't pregnant!"

Sarina giggled, shaking her head. "Kael, you idiot... they're orphans we just found outside."

Kael blinked, his panic deflating instantly as he let out a long sigh. "Oh... Right. That makes way more sense."
