Chapter 1 - CH 1 :The Question That Reached the Gods

Rain poured heavily over the city of Hyderabad.

Streetlights reflected off the wet roads, turning the empty streets into rivers of gold and silver. Thunder rolled across the sky like distant drums.

Rudra walked quickly through the rain, holding a thick book tightly against his chest.

The book was old, its pages slightly yellowed from age.

It was the Mahabharata.

Rudra had spent the last two months reading every version he could find—translations, commentaries, historical analysis. The epic fascinated him more than anything else in history.

But tonight, he had finished the final chapter.

And the ending left him restless.

He stopped in front of a small temple dedicated to Shiva. The temple stood quietly between two modern buildings, its stone structure looking out of place in the middle of the city.

Rain dripped from the roof as Arjun stepped inside.

The temple was empty.

Only the soft glow of oil lamps illuminated the black Shiva Lingam at the center.

Rudra sat cross-legged on the cold stone floor.

He opened the book again and looked at the final pages.

Kurukshetra.

The greatest war in ancient history.

Millions had died.

Kings, warriors, teachers, friends—almost an entire generation wiped out in just eighteen days.

Rudra sighed.

"Such a tragedy…"

He stared at the Shiva Lingam.

"Lord Shiva," he murmured quietly.

"Why did it have to end like that?"

His voice echoed softly inside the temple.

"If someone had stopped the conflict earlier…"

"If just a few events had changed…"

"Maybe the war could have been avoided."

Thunder cracked loudly outside.

The temple bells suddenly began ringing.

Rudra looked up in confusion.

He hadn't touched them.

Wind rushed through the temple, extinguishing half the lamps.

The remaining flames flickered violently.

Then something impossible happened.

The Shiva Lingam began glowing.

A faint blue light slowly spread across its surface.

Rudra 's heartbeat accelerated.

"What…?"

The air in the temple grew heavy, as if gravity itself had increased.

A deep voice suddenly echoed through the chamber.

It was not loud.

Yet it carried unimaginable power.

"You question destiny."

Rudra froze.

The blue light expanded, forming a massive silhouette above the Lingam.

The figure grew clearer.

Tall.

Towering.

A crescent moon rested upon his matted hair.

A serpent coiled around his neck.

In one hand appeared a trident.

Three eyes shone with cosmic light.

Rudra immediately dropped to the ground in shock.

"My… my lord…"

Before him stood the destroyer of worlds.

The god beyond time.

Shiva.

Rudra body trembled.

He had never been a deeply religious person.

Yet at this moment, standing before the deity himself, doubt was impossible.

Shiva looked down at him calmly.

"You read the Mahabharata," Shiva said.

"Yes… Lord," Rudra whispered.

"You wonder why the war occurred."

Rudra slowly raised his head.

"I do."

"Millions died."

"So many heroes… gone."

"If someone had changed a few events earlier… maybe history would have been different."

Shiva remained silent for a moment.

Then he spoke.

"Destiny is like a river."

"Many follow its flow."

"Few dare to change its course."

The god raised three fingers.

"I will grant you three wishes."

Rudra's mind exploded with possibilities.

Three wishes.

From Shiva himself.

He had to choose carefully.

After several seconds of deep thought, Arjun spoke.

"My first wish…"

"I want access to a library containing knowledge from the past, present, and possible futures."

The temple trembled slightly.

Shiva's third eye flickered faintly.

"A dangerous wish."

"But granted."

A flash of golden light entered Arjun's forehead.

He gasped.

Inside his mind, a gigantic golden gate appeared.

An endless library stretched behind it.

Shelves upon shelves of ancient books filled the horizon.

But chains sealed most of them.

Shiva spoke again.

"The Library of Heaven."

"Knowledge will unlock only when you prove worthy."

Rudra nodded.

"My second wish…"

"I want the ability to understand and learn knowledge faster than ordinary humans."

Shiva raised an eyebrow.

"Enhanced comprehension."

"You shall learn quickly… but effort will still be required."

"Granted."

A second wave of energy surged through Arjun's mind.

"My final wish…"

Rudra hesitated.

Then he said,

"I want a body that adapts and grows stronger through training."

Shiva smiled faintly.

"A body shaped by hardship."

"Granted."

Energy exploded through Arjun's muscles and bones.

He felt warmth spreading throughout his entire body.

Then glowing text appeared before his eyes.

Rudra looked up again.

"My lord…"

"What happens now?"

Shiva raised his trident.

"You wished to change the Mahabharata."

"Then go to its beginning."

The temple exploded with blinding light.

The world disappeared.

Arjun felt his body dissolving into particles.

The final words of Shiva echoed through the void.

"Rewrite destiny… if you can."

Darkness swallowed everything.

Moments later…

A baby cried somewhere in ancient Bharat.

The age of heroes had begun.

And the fate of the Mahabharata had just changed.
