Branik, A rough, cynical officer, is whom Aren assists to the first assignment.
While Aren reads the info file,
"You look like the kind who wants to save world, for real" , Branik says

Just doing my job", Aren replies
Branik smirks, "You'll learn rookie, let's just hope you will not be broken"
Staring for a second, Aren focuses back to the file. Ravel Dorne, a small time gang collector who forces shopkeepers to pay protection money. With a little worry, Aren looks at the road
At the market, with chaos everywhere, and the shopkeeper crying for life. Ravel shouts: "Stay back, I know the law, you can't shoot unless I attack!!"
Branik whispers "let's see what you can do"
Aren steps forward calmly.
"Ravel Dorne"
The man is confused
"You have been extorting this market for months", slowly lowering his gun, "But you are not a killer, let the man go, It's okay"
He hesitates but doesn't lowers his knife
"We are not going to move unless you would let go of the shopkeeper. I promise i won't beat you after you let go of that shipkeeper" Arens speaks in his firm voice.
Ravel starts to cry,
After a tense moment, he drops the knife
Aren arrests him without using Violence.
The civilians are shocked.
At the station later,
Aren finishes the arrest report carefully.
But then, Branik returns
"Your guy just walked out, Aren"
"What?!!" Confused Aren rushes out
Out, he sees few men taking ravel with them.
"His Boss paid the right people"
Aren is visibly flustered
