The toads explained: If he wanted to ascend to Heaven, An Bao had to sleep—and truly fall asleep. As for becoming a god, that depended on how much knowledge An Bao had left behind in the mortal world and in Hell.
An Bao thought that, in his current state, there was no way he could fall asleep.
The toads told him not to worry. While he slept, Emotion Regulators would clear the thoughts from his cerebral cortex, and he would fall asleep before long. As for the knowledge he had left in the mortal world and Hell, it had already been spread and consolidated through the students in Hell, his books, and the children of the Emotion Regulators.
That night, An Bao began to sleep. At first, he heard many people talking all at once—some saying that if becoming a god was this easy, maybe they should be the one; others asking what would happen to his mortal parents after he became a god. Then, he heard murmuring from the next room. It was the sleep-talking voices of his mortal parents, shielding him: "He was born to become a god. There's nothing we can do to stop it. If he's no longer here, it means he's gone back to become an official and live well. If he stayed here, there's nothing he could do anyway. We should be happy for him." Their voices drove away the other noises.
Then, one voice stood out—shouting repeatedly at every other voice: "Get lost!"—it was actually the Emotion Regulator who had seen An Bao taking his mother to the market. Finally, all the voices were completely driven away by that roar.
An Bao's cerebral cortex relaxed considerably. The world fell completely silent.
An Bao gradually grew drowsy, sinking deeper and deeper into sleep.
He dreamed of a group of people across from him saying "Thank you." The toads beside him whispered in explanation: "These are your Emotion Regulators. You taught their children so much."
He dreamed of his parents in Heaven saying to him: "We've been waiting for you for so long, son."
His soul departed from his body and arrived in Heaven. His physical form transformed into material that reshaped itself into a new divine body.
When he awoke, Chu Zhi, the Creator God of this world, announced that An Bao had become the God of Consensus of Heaven, granted the power of thought transmission.
