Chapter 3 - 3:An elf.

He had to admit that it was a bit strange to have his previous life consciousness awaken.

He couldn't help but feel that his body was strange as though he was feeling it for the first time even if it had been twenty years since his birth.

Despite all the negatives, he was thankful for the grace period those twenty years had given him.

Atheline could already imagine the disaster it would have been if his adult consciousness had been shoved into a newborn baby's body.

One could already imagine the disaster and helplessness it would have brought.

It would have been a pain to learn the new elven language which was complicated even for his current brain.

Talking had been easy and natural but writing it down had been a journey of punishments for the smallest of mistakes.

Being able to learn about the world's traditions and etiquette naturally without outside influence had been a plus for him.

Right now he had fully adapted and integrated with the elven traditions so a few memories from his past life held no weight in his development.

While admittedly he was still young since elves have long lives, he had already reached adulthood in both human and elven tradition.

Approaching footsteps got him out of his reverie and he waited patiently for them to arrive while smoothing his hair.

A knock came to his bedroom door before a deep male voice followed.

"Young master, the master requests your presence for breakfast," his personal servant, Luther, said.

Atheline smiled and stood up from his dressing table. He took one last glance at his reflection to confirm his overall appearance.

He was tall (190) having gotten his height from his father and the body of a warrior. Not overly muscled but just a perfect balance of both.

He was dressed in a long white robe lined with golden lining that glimmered in the sunlight that was spilling into his room through the open windows.

Perfection.

He had been taught to maintain Perfection in everything he did. He couldn't stand a single disary within himself.

'Would I even have been able to do this if I had gotten my memories earlier. I would've probably struggled with the merging.'

He hurriedly walked to the door and pulled it open before he got called again.

Luther stepped back and bowed heavily his black long hair spilling over before he lifted his face to look at him his green eyes filled with worship and respect.

Luther, Athelines' agemate, was also the last son of one of the Sylavis who worked under Athelines' father. To put it simply, a Sylavis was equivalent to a marquis in human terms.

They were responsible for guarding the forest borders.

Even in this world, hierarchy was strictly maintained. Being the son of an Aetherion lord he had a group of lower nobility trying to work as his servant.

The benefits were too good for anyone to pass over during recruitment. Atheline had naturally chosen Luther since he was quiet and had the highest score.

Atherion lords were equivalent to Dukes which ment Athelines family held a lot of power in the kingdom.

There were only four Atherion lords who served under the King and the villainess' husband was the son of one of them.

"Has everyone woken?"

He stepped forward into the white pristine hallway and closed the door behind him.

"Yes master," Luther answered while following behind him.

He made sure to maintain a respectable distance from his master.

They both walked slowly down the hallway and came to a stop in front of a glass door.

Luther stepped forward and pressed one of the two buttons at the side of the door revealing the small square chamber behind the door.

It slid open and Atheline stepped in with Luther following behind him. The door closed softly behind them, and they started to descend.

'I can't believe they managed to create elevators using wind'

Atheline thought. Something he had considered normal was now becoming weird. He had to applaud the author for their imagination.

At least they made the architecture a bit unique.

Unlike the normal elven perception of living in the forest in trees. The elves in this world were more developed magically and in architecture.

A marvel of a forest integrated with magic-filled infrastructure.

The elevator came to a slow stop and he stepped out and into the dining room. The room wasn't large, but big enough for the servants to stand at the sides.

"You're late today?" His older brother, Helther said the moment Atheline stepped out of the elevator. He had long black hair and blue eyes that screamed mischief. He was rough around the edges since he was a knight.

Atheline smiled and walked over to him. He pulled the chair next to him and sat down.

"Where is father?" He asked.

His father, Helmer, was the main advisor of the king among the four Aetherion lords. He was always quite busy most of the time and was rarely at home.

It was hard as it is to meet him except for breakfast. Atheline had been looking for him for a few days now.

"The king called just a few moments ago," his mother answered.

Atheline nodded and took a sip of the fruit juice mixed with honey.

"You should wake up early next time, " his older brother ruffled his hair," Why were you late today?"

"Stop it i worked hard to make it look good," Atheline pushed his brother's hand off his head and tried to smooth his hair down.

'Now I have to redo this again, having long hair is really annoying '

Unfortunately for him, he couldn't cut it down since hair represented prestige.

"You shouldn't be so upset.."

"I am not upset," he cut his brother off mid-sentence.

"Ooh.. look at you acting all mature and..."

"Stop teasing your brother," his mother shot his brother down before he could add anything else.

Atheline cast a smug smile at his brother who rolled his eyes and went back to eating.

To say he was blessed wouldn't be a stretch, in his previous life he had been an orphan but right now he had a full complete family.
