Maya's POV
Sebastian was exactly where I knew he would be when I walked into his office, hunched over his mahogany desk with documents scattered everywhere like a paper hurricane had torn through the room. Reports, contracts, and financial statements created towers around him, and he was so absorbed in his work that my entrance went completely unnoticed.
"You would starve if I didn't intervene," I announced, carefully placing the lunch tray on the only clear space I could find among the chaos.
His head snapped up, those piercing gray eyes blinking several times as if he was surfacing from deep water and returning to the present moment.
"You are a lifesaver," he murmured, his lips curving into that devastating smile as he examined the carefully arranged plate. "The paperwork is drowning me, but there was actually something I needed to discuss with you anyway."
