Maya's POV
The golden afternoon light filtered through the estate grounds as I finally ventured outside after being confined to bed. Sebastian had monitored my recovery with an almost obsessive attention to detail, checking my temperature regularly and ensuring I consumed enough fluids to float a small boat.
My strength was slowly returning after days of fighting the virus that had knocked me flat. The persistent fatigue still clung to me, but the fresh air felt like freedom after being trapped indoors with nothing but broth and tea.
I wandered through the meticulously maintained gardens, admiring the precise symmetry of the hedge maze. Arthur had mentioned this was a recreation of some famous Castorian design, designed by his own father when the mansion was built.
