"Maya, you think I'm a gigolo, but the truth is—"
"Sebastian."
The voice cut through the café atmosphere like ice, stopping him dead in his tracks.
Sebastian's jaw clenched immediately, his entire demeanor shifting as if someone had just walked over his grave. From his reaction, it seemed like he didn't even need to turn around to know who had spoken—the tension radiating from his body told me everything I needed to know.
I glanced toward the window's reflection and spotted her. Tall, blonde, expensive everything. The kind of woman who probably had her morning coffee served on actual china. She looked at me briefly, dismissively, before focusing entirely on Sebastian.
I had zero clue who she was, but I could tell this wasn't a conversation I wanted to witness.
"Right, so I'm gonna bounce," I said, practically leaping from my chair.
Sebastian's attention snapped back to me, those intense eyes searching my face like he was trying to solve a puzzle.
