Chapter 1 - The last night

The rain The rain had not stopped for three days.

In the small, silent town of Ravenhill, people stayed indoors, whispering about the strange light that appeared every midnight near the old clock tower.

But Aarav was not afraid.

"Ghosts don't scare me," he muttered, pulling his jacket tighter as he stepped into the stormy night.

The wind howled.

The clock tower stood ahead — tall, broken, and watching like a giant eye. As the clock struck twelve…

DONG… DONG… DONG…

A pale blue light appeared.

Aarav froze.

From the light, a soft voice whispered,

"Why have you come?"

His heart pounded, but he forced himself to speak.

"I want the truth."

The light slowly formed into the figure of a young girl, her eyes filled with sadness.

"No one ever asks for the truth," she said quietly.

Thunder cracked across the sky.

Aarav stepped forward. "Tell me."

The girl raised her hand, and suddenly the air filled with moving shadows — memories of the past.

Ravenhill… burning.

People running.

The clock tower collapsing.

"They forgot us," the girl whispered. "We were left here."

Aarav's voice shook. "How can I help?"

For the first time, the girl smiled.

"Remember."

The blue light burst into thousands of tiny sparks, rising into the dark sky like lost stars.

The rain slowly stopped.

And from that night on, the people of Ravenhill never forgot the story of the lost souls in the clock tower.

But sometimes…

On very quiet nights…

The clock still rings at midnight.
