Chapter 1 - Mother’s Day.

On a quiet Sunday morning, the sun rose softly over the small village of Greenfield. Birds were singing, and the air felt fresh and warm. It was Mother's Day.

Emily woke up early. She looked at the calendar and smiled. "Today is the day," she whispered to herself. She wanted to do something special for her mother, Mrs. Anna, who had always worked hard to give her a happy life.

Emily's father had passed away when she was very young. Since then, her mother had been her whole world—her guide, her friend, and her greatest supporter. Mrs. Anna worked as a tailor in the village. Every day she stitched clothes for others, but she always made sure Emily had the best books and a warm meal.

This year, Emily didn't have money to buy an expensive gift. But she had an idea.

For weeks, she had been secretly writing letters. In each letter, she wrote one memory she loved about her mother—like the time her mother stayed awake all night when she was sick, or the way she cheered the loudest at her school competition.

She carefully folded the letters and placed them inside a small handmade box. On the cover, she wrote in colorful ink:

"To the Best Mom in the World."

When her mother woke up, Emily brought breakfast to her bed—simple toast and tea, but made with love. Then she gave her the small box.

Mrs. Anna looked surprised. "What is this, my dear?" she asked.

"Open it, Mom," Emily said softly.

As Mrs. Anna read the letters one by one, tears filled her eyes. Each word touched her heart. She realized that all her sacrifices had not gone unnoticed. Her daughter had seen everything. She had understood everything.

After reading the last letter, Mrs. Anna hugged Emily tightly.

"This is the most precious gift I have ever received," she said with a trembling voice. "Not because it is beautiful, but because it comes from your heart."

Emily smiled. "You taught me that love is the greatest gift of all."

That day, they didn't need expensive presents or big celebrations. They spent the afternoon together, laughing, cooking, and sharing stories.

And in that small house in Greenfield, love shone brighter than the sun.

Because the greatest gift for a mother is knowing she is loved.
