Return to Kamar-Taj
"Are you guys okay?!"
Carl returned to Kamar-Taj. For now, he chose to stand on the Avengers' side—he no longer intended to clash with anyone.
Seeing him back, Diwan quickly hid her snacks in her hands and smiled.
Carl walked over, shook his head, and said calmly,"It's fine. They'll handle things themselves from now on."
He took the spicy snack she had hidden, lightly pinched her cheek, and said,"Don't eat this on an empty stomach."
Diwan snorted softly."Then what am I supposed to do?"
She had already seen the news about Carl. In fact, almost no one in the world hadn't.
The entire world believed he had massacred a city. He had been pushed to the edge—left with no way out.
Carl glanced at her, and suddenly a lamb pastry appeared in his hand.
"Eat breakfast first. Didn't you eat properly when you were pregnant?"
Diwan's eyes lit up as she took it happily.
(He had prepared it earlier while passing through the Celestial Empire, knowing she would skip breakfast and wait for him.)
Quiet Before the Storm
"Why haven't we seen Gu Yi lately?" Carl asked.
Ancient One had been absent for nearly half a month, rarely appearing at Kamar-Taj.
Diwan mumbled with a full mouth,"Mmm… mmm…"
Carl's expression darkened slightly."Swallow first, then talk."
She quickly chewed and said,"I don't know. Mordo mentioned he recently found traces of Kaecilius."
Carl nodded and said nothing more. He simply lay down on the bed.
Two Days Later — New York
Yes… New York.
A city that always seemed to attract chaos, as if some unseen force drew evil toward it.
Above the city—
A massive spaceship.
It hovered in the sky like a giant whale, blotting out the sun.
Panic spread instantly. People fled in terror, officials scrambled to evacuate civilians.
And that… was only a small ship.
The true mothership remained hidden in space.
From the hovering vessel, hundreds of smaller crafts poured out—attacking the city the moment they appeared.
This was even more devastating than the Chitauri invasion.
Each strike collapsed buildings, blasted craters into the streets—and the bodies of those killed… vanished.
Screams.Cries for help.Despair.
The situation spiraled completely out of control.
There had been no warning.
The Avengers Arrive
By the time the Avengers reached New York, the city was already in ruins.
The ground was shattered, buildings reduced to nothing.
Bodies lay everywhere.
It looked like hell.
And the death toll… had already reached into the millions—far exceeding the tragedy in Italy.
Seeing this, the Avengers' eyes turned red with rage.
"Kill them!"
A voice shouted over the comms—and instantly, every Avenger launched into action.
The Battle Begins
Natasha took cover among the ruins, pulling out her custom pistol and aiming at the ships above.
She didn't hit anything—but she was spotted.
A blast came straight toward her position.
BOOM—
Smoke cleared.
She was gone.
In another part of the ruins, Quicksilver set her down. Natasha gasped for air.
"You're not exactly light," he said.
She shot him a glance."That's not how you talk to a lady."
Then she stood, checked her weapon, and moved out again.
No time for small talk.
A massive figure appeared in the distance—
Scott Lang, grown to giant size, smashing ships out of the sky with his fists.
"What is that…?" Natasha muttered in shock.
She had only met him yesterday—and hadn't even understood his abilities yet.
Now… she did.
Elsewhere, Steve and Bucky fought side by side.
Vision fired beams from his forehead, blasting ships apart.
A towering Ultron figure—nearly four meters tall—was also tearing through enemy crafts.
At the center of Manhattan—
Wanda stood still.
Her eyes glowed crimson, chaos energy surging around her.
Dozens of ships fired at her—but every attack was blocked by her scarlet power.
"AHHH!"
With a deafening roar, her energy exploded outward—
Dozens of ships were obliterated instantly.
But it was only a fraction.
For every ship destroyed, more fell from the sky.
Tony's Strike
Tony witnessed everything and charged toward the massive "whale" ship in the sky.
"Friday, analyze the target."
"Sir, the surface is protected by an energy shield. We cannot penetrate it."
Tony didn't respond. He just stared at it.
Only when he got close did he say—
"Call Carl."
The smaller ships were already difficult enough.
That thing? Impossible.
For the first time, Tony realized—he was relying on Carl.
But he didn't even know if Carl would come.
Missiles fired.
BOOM—
Like sparks against a mountain.
The five-to-six-kilometer-long ship remained completely unaffected.
Not even a ripple in its shield.
"Sir, a nuclear missile is ten kilometers out."
Tony immediately contacted everyone.
"Get out of—"
Before he could finish—
A streak of light tore across the sky.
The Turning Point
A beam of light descended from above—
It obliterated every ship in its path—
And pierced straight through the massive whale ship.
BOOM—
Explosions echoed endlessly.
The giant ship began to fall, crushing the air beneath it and forming a massive storm.
The ground trembled. Dust filled the sky.
Even the incoming nuclear missile was caught by that light—dragged upward into space.
Silence.
Then—
"What… was that?" Steve's voice came through the comms.
Tony replied,"I was just about to ask the same thing."
"We won!" Quicksilver shouted.
Tony snapped back,"Kid, this wasn't you."
"That light is coming back," Barton said, looking up with his bow in hand.
A New Arrival
The light descended again.
It landed—and a figure appeared.
Rhodey frowned."Who is that?"
At first, they thought it was Superman.
Only someone like him could destroy an entire fleet—and casually throw a nuclear missile into space.
But this person…
They didn't recognize her.
"Her name is Carol Danvers," Fury's voice came through their earpieces."Former elite pilot."
Steve frowned."Why didn't you call her sooner? Manhattan is already destroyed."
"She needed time to get here."
Tony asked,"Where did she come from?"
"I don't know… she's not exactly easy to track."
The Avengers gathered together as Captain Marvel—Carol Danvers—flew toward them.
"Hello," she said.
They were about to respond—
When suddenly—
Another humanoid figure descended from the sky.
Carol looked up—
At someone she recognized.
