4 years later , in the 𝙲𝚒𝚝𝚊𝚍𝚎𝚕, King 𝙷𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛 and his kingsmen were holding a meeting, called by the kingsmen, they had a proposal for the King. They were sitting on a long table with chairs around, only 3 of the Kingsmen were present, the King sat with them instead of sitting on his throne, another attitude to show his closeness to his Kingsmen.
After the usual greetings and the quick routine recap about the kingdom's well being, Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 spoke
"My good Lord, the Kingsmen and I have something that has been bothering us and we called this council to speak to you about it ", King 𝙷𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛 sighed and said
"I was wondering when you'd say this, get on with it " he said already knowing what they were about to say.
"Thank you my King, I'll let Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 speak " Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 said, Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 cleared his throat and aforesaid
"Your grace, I know we've brought this up severally, but you have to really consider this, it is important and you know just that", all the Kingsmen agreed, King 𝙷𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛 looking uninterested replied
" How many times do I have to tell you all that this does not bother me now, I have bigger things to accomplish than getting married "
"Not having an heir does not bother you? " Lord 𝙴𝚞𝚛𝚒𝚙𝚑𝚎𝚞𝚜 pressed
" It does but to a certain degree, we have so many , unsolved matters right now and I prefer to solve them first " King 𝙷𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛 furthered
"I envy your optimism your grace" Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 registered, King 𝙷𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛 got confused and asked
"What do you mean? , Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 "
"You spoke of a time where all the unsolved in this Kingdom will be solved and that time simply does not exists, you know this very well your grace " Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 said, the Kingsmen nodded in agreement, King 𝙷𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛 found sense in his words
"If we keep waiting for that time, we will miss it" Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 concluded
"Also my King, what more can 𝙶𝚛𝚎𝚎𝚔𝚜 or even the world ask of you?" Lord 𝙴𝚞𝚛𝚒𝚙𝚑𝚎𝚞𝚜 probbed
"Exactly, you have done everything already , you have achieved what your fathers before you took decades to achieve, you became King at a very young age and you changed the world, unlike 𝚁𝚘𝚖𝚎 who claims to chase peace through violence, with your status and authority you have achieved peace with peace in so many Kingdoms, you have subdued all wars around us and everyone has experienced peace for a long time. Your name alone stop wars, not only that, since you became King, you have added 5 kingdoms to 𝙶𝚛𝚎𝚎𝚌𝚎 , that's more than your father did in his lifetime, and even though the Kingdoms resisted at first, now they are very happy you did, because being a part of 𝙶𝚛𝚎𝚎𝚌𝚎 , who has the greatest civilization is an honor and their lives has change from the pit they were before. Now their city shines, glimmers, with waterfalls, good roads, tall buildings, and designs they had never seeing before. My point is , my King, you don't have to wait till you have done everything, because you have done enough for a life time and having an heir doesn't automatically stop you from doing all of these " Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 emphasized, King 𝙷𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛 was giving it a thought.
"Your grace, you are almost 40 years old, it's high time you start having kids, for the future of the kingdom, it is necessary, if you truly care about the future of the kingdom, you'd do this immediately, because I'm not sure you want someone that isn't your blood to rule this Kingdom in your absence , ruining everything you have built, but.... If you have your son, raise him in your ways, teach him to be like you, he'll take the Kingdom to an even greater height" Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 deciphered
"Yes absolutely"
"Good point, Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 ", the kingsmen agreed
King 𝙷𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛 exhaled and spoke
" That was very precise, Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 , you made thorough sense..... "
"Thank you, your grace " Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 replied
"..... But, i believe i still have time, i am 𝙷𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛 for god's sake, you all don't think i'll die that easily, do you? " King 𝙷𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛 pressed
"My king, that's not what we meant" Lord 𝙴𝚞𝚛𝚒𝚙𝚑𝚎𝚞𝚜 countered
"Shhhhh, I know what you meant and I'm saying you are all wrong, I can live as long as i want, and for all the unsolved, i must solve all, it sounds impossible but my job has been doing the impossible, am I wrong? "
"No my Lord"
"Of course not, your grace " , the kingsmen responded
"So you have nothing to be afraid of, having a family now will be a big diversion to my ultimate goal and you all know this, you also know i put that operation over anything else, anything " King 𝙷𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛 added
"My Lord, if i may"
"Did you sincerely just asked me that? " King 𝙷𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛 pressed on Lord 𝙴𝚞𝚛𝚒𝚙𝚑𝚎𝚞𝚜 "forgive me Lord" , King 𝙷𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛 sighed and said
"Carry on"
"Very well my Lord. Your great grandfather, King 𝚇𝚎𝚗𝚘𝚗 achieved what he did with several wives and multiple children, that didn't stop him..." Lord 𝙴𝚞𝚛𝚒𝚙𝚑𝚎𝚞𝚜 pointed out, the Kingsmen agreed and he continued
"...and in my honest conviction, you are wiser than him, yes he achieved great things but you're not far off and you're far from over "
" He is right my King, perhaps you underestimate your trajectory a bit, you are certainly able to handle more than you think you can " Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 added , they all paused for a moment while King 𝙷𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛 gave it thoughts
"You need an heir your grace, you will live long of course , but let's not take any chances and besides, having children is a wonderful thing" Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 furthered
"They slow you down" King 𝙷𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛 countered
"That's not at all a bad thing, everyone needs to slow down at some point, you said if yourself, you have time. My children has thought me a lot about life, without doing anything. There's an aspect of life you'd never understand if you don't have children, several aspects" Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 made clear
"Ohh, that's very true " Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 agreed
"That reminds me, Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 how is your kid?, you don't talk about her a lot, what's her name again? " Lord 𝙴𝚞𝚛𝚒𝚙𝚑𝚎𝚞𝚜 asked
"Yes, her name is 𝚃𝚞𝚕𝚕𝚒𝚊 and she's doing fine " Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 replied
"How old is she now? " Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 enquired
"Ohh, she will be 5 years old this year"
"Oh really? "
"Yes, yes"
"Wow, time really moves fast, i remember the news like it was just yesterday" Lord 𝙴𝚞𝚛𝚒𝚙𝚑𝚎𝚞𝚜 said
"Yes, yes, yes and how about yours Lord 𝙴𝚞𝚛𝚒𝚙𝚑𝚎𝚞𝚜 ? "
"Which one? " Lord 𝙴𝚞𝚛𝚒𝚙𝚑𝚎𝚞𝚜 asked and they laughed, they knew what they were doing, talking about their kids in front of the King, they were playing mind games as usual
"All of them, we wanna hear about all of them " Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 requested
"All huh!? , let's see...., 𝚁𝚊𝚒𝚓𝚒𝚗 is now a soldier in the 𝙲𝚒𝚝𝚊𝚍𝚎𝚕 "
"Ohh that's awesome, you should be proud" Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 said
"𝙴𝚖𝚒𝚜𝚑, he is still learning about politics and he's being doing really well, very soon, he'll be up here, possibly with our next King as his kingsman " Lord 𝙴𝚞𝚛𝚒𝚙𝚑𝚎𝚞𝚜 continued, King 𝙷𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛 exhaled hard and shook his head
"You guys really think that low of me?, that your petty squabbles about your children will influence my decision? Children you all almost never speak about. Maybe try bringing 𝚃𝚞𝚕𝚕𝚒𝚊 to the council next time and when I hold her, maybe I'll change my mind. Anyways, you guys have made a good argument today, i'll keep in mind, you-" , a knock on the door interrupted King 𝙷𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛 and he hit both of his hands on the table furiously, and groaned
"Who might you be? " Lord 𝙴𝚞𝚛𝚒𝚙𝚑𝚎𝚞𝚜 enquired
"I have news my Lords" the soldier who knocked replied
"Are you lost?, can't you see we are in a meeting? " Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 pressed
"I'm sorry my Lords but this is important", they all looked at the King for response
"Let him in, we are almost done here anyways" King 𝙷𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛 said
"Let yourself in" Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 suggested. The soldier walked in, the look on all their faces scared him, he started stuttering
"My Lords, i - i was...asked-"
"Look at me young man " Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 said and signaled him to take a deep breath, he did, calmed down and said
" Thank you my Lord, i have good news, Lord 𝙰𝚍𝚛𝚊𝚜𝚝𝚘𝚜 wife has just delivered a boy " the soldier announced , they were all shocked, King 𝙷𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛 stood up and and cheered. 𝙰𝚍𝚛𝚊𝚜𝚝𝚘𝚜' wife was sick and the chances of successfully giving birth was slim, so it was a good surprise that she made it. King 𝙷𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛 was genuinely excited and they stood with him, to hug and shake themselves.
"This is so refreshing" King 𝙷𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛 said
" Truly the gods has heard us " Lord 𝙴𝚞𝚛𝚒𝚙𝚑𝚎𝚞𝚜 attested
"This calls for a huge celebration but first, we must see the baby " King 𝙷𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛 suggested. They all made their way out of the council excited.
Meanwhile 𝙰𝚍𝚛𝚊𝚜𝚝𝚘𝚜 was outside the room were his son just got birthed, he wasn't ready yet, he was so excited but didn't show much in his face, because he's always too serious. He heard the baby crying , forced himself and opened the curtain, walked inside, saw his wife smilling, holding the baby. The baby was glowing, had the face of his beautiful mother, she handed him the baby, he hesitated a little but carried the baby, he then smiled and a drop of tears fell from his eyes, his wife couldn't stop crying, tears of joy, she couldn't believe she made it. It was between her and the baby and 𝙰𝚍𝚛𝚊𝚜𝚝𝚘𝚜 told her to live but she chose to do it even if it meant sacrificing herself but now that they both made it. It was genuinely beautiful, so she and the maids couldn't stop crying.
The King and the kingsmen walked in happily, immediately cheering 𝙰𝚍𝚛𝚊𝚜𝚝𝚘𝚜 , King 𝙷𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛 quickly asked to hold the baby, 𝙰𝚍𝚛𝚊𝚜𝚝𝚘𝚜 handed him over, smilling, King 𝙷𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛 held the baby and his heart became warm, he felt something he had never felt
"Such beautiful creature" he said , they all laughed. The wife, 𝚒𝚎𝚛𝚎𝚜, couldn't stop laughing, she then said to him
"Suits you, you should hurry up and get him a friend", they all laughed but it really hit King 𝙷𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛 and for the first time in his life, he felt he needed a child, he suddenly felt a touch on his shoulder, it was 𝙰𝚍𝚛𝚊𝚜𝚝𝚘𝚜, he said to King 𝙷𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛
"It's about time my friend" , King 𝙷𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛 thought about it and smiled, then said
"Good job Kingsmen, I see what you did there ", they all laughed
" This is destiny, I must have my own child " he added
"Ohh"
"Wow, that was.... " the kingsmen, surprised
"Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗, how do i get a wife " King 𝙷𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛 pressed and they all couldn't stop laughing.
A week later after the huge celebration for the new child, which was held by King 𝙷𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛 , it was celebrated in the whole of 𝙶𝚛𝚎𝚎𝚌𝚎 . The whole week was dedicated to the child and nothing else was talked about except the child. That was how happy King 𝙷𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛 was, because he knew how greatly 𝙰𝚍𝚛𝚊𝚜𝚝𝚘𝚜 and 𝙸𝚎𝚛𝚎𝚜 has suffered because of her illness and he has always been there to support, the child was named 𝙰𝚎𝚛𝚎𝚜 , after his mother, only the 'A' from his Father, because the kid resembled his mother so much, and he didn't harm his mother while being brought out to life, so the connection was great and because of that they named him after her.
After the celebrations, now that they can talk about something else, Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 and Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 went to see the King, this time not a council meeting, just a visit. The King's palace was the longest house in the kingdom, stretching miles, huge and King 𝙷𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛 lived there alone with maids, cup bearers and entertainers.
They both entered the huge sitting room and sat down. Not long after, the King walked in with a cup of wine, a smile and ordered his maids to offer them drinks. He sat down and said
"Ohh my dear friends, I know why you are here and I've been giving it a lot of thoughts and i have an answer"
"An answer?, i thought you already gave us that " Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 replied
"Oh true, but this is the final answer, you don't expect me to make a decision like that easily , I have to be rational " King 𝙷𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛 pointed out
"True, true my Lord " Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 agreed
"So what say you, your grace " Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 asked
"Yes, yes, I want to get married and have kids, maybe two "
"Ohh great, you really thought this one out" Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 said and chuckled
"Yes, but how do I get a wife, I haven't seen anyone i like yet and I've been around the 𝙲𝚒𝚝𝚊𝚍𝚎𝚕 this passed week, no one " King 𝙷𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛 revealed
"That was quick " Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 said
"Didn't go out to look for a wife, went out for the celebration, that was just a side quest, anyways, I need answers, I'm not attracted to these women, what do i do? " King 𝙷𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛 countered and enquired
"Your majesty, you act as if the 𝙲𝚒𝚝𝚊𝚍𝚎𝚕 Is the only city beneath your grasp, there's no way in the whole of 𝙶𝚛𝚎𝚎𝚌𝚎 there's no woman that attracts you, it's impossible" Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 denoted
" Yes but i thought they said the 𝙲𝚒𝚝𝚊𝚍𝚎𝚕 has the finest of women. Very well, what do you suggest? " King 𝙷𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛 questioned
"Everything in 𝙶𝚛𝚎𝚎𝚌𝚎 belongs to you and you alone, take a tour all over 𝙶𝚛𝚎𝚎𝚌𝚎 and take home any woman you find. You're King 𝙷𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛 , anything you want, you get, nobody will dare argue with you " Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 proposed.
"You don't expect me to leave my throne and wander around the kingdom like a dog, who's gonna look over when I'm not around? " King 𝙷𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛 pressed
"It's just a week tops, the whole kingdom isn't gonna collapse , you built strong pillars" Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 answered
"And if there's anything that needs to be attended to in your absence, we are here, your most trusted men" Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 added
"Hmmm, I don't know, I'll think about that" King 𝙷𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛 said
" Go, take any woman you want " Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 urged
"What if she's married? " King 𝙷𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛 asked
"That should be an exemption" Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 responded
"Exemption?, he is the King, he gets whatever he wants, you know that, if the woman he likes is married then unfortunately for them... " Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 countered
"That'll be forcing, that's not how it should be done. Your grace, there are thousands of young women that aren't married in 𝙶𝚛𝚎𝚎𝚌𝚎, surely you'd find them attractive" Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 said
"Calm down you two, you know i can't stop myself once i see some thing I want right? , you are well aware " King 𝙷𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛 probbed
"I'm aware that you always get what you want, and no one and nothing gets in your way or you crush them, but is that really how you want it, taking someone's wife? " Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 enquired
"If the woman I end up wanting is married then they have to end it, do you have a problem with that? " , Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 hesitated for seconds and replied
"Of course not your grace "
"Let's not argue about something that hasn't happened yet, how are we so sure the woman he ends up wanting would be married? " Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 pointed out
"Before you both proceed, I have to tell you this, immediately as we suggested you get married, I've being conducting researches on marriage, and the law it behold and not long ago I came across a page that states that; in 𝙶𝚛𝚎𝚎𝚌𝚎, nobody, not even a King , has the right to someone else's marriage, you can't marry a married woman or a man without their consent, a law enforced by King 𝚇𝚎𝚗𝚘𝚗 himself" Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 stated
"Is that true? " King 𝙷𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛 asked
"It is, I'm surprised you both don't know of this " Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 responded
"I do, I just thought since he's King, he can change the rules" Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 spoke
"No, no, I didn't know, I obviously haven't read anything about marriage, it wasn't in the main Corriculum. Well now that you mentioned, if she is married then we'll have to ask for her consent, if she says no then no it is " King 𝙷𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛 concluded
"Thank you your grace, that's better " Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 said, Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 bowed.
"Now where do i begin" King 𝙷𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛 asked
"Don't you worry about that my Lord, I will figure everything out, just let me know when you are ready" Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 offered
"Thank you, both of you" King 𝙷𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛 appreciated, they both bowed and he walked inside, they both made their way out while talking.
Now 10 years old 𝙽𝚢𝚡𝚊𝚛𝚊 was walking her way home from thier new shop, not too far from their house, unhappy. she grew fast, looked bigger than the average 10 year old, 𝙰𝚜𝚕𝚛𝚘𝚗 was taking good care of her, making sure she gets whatever she needs, emphasis on need, not want. She was carrying a basket of fruits, singing, when 𝚉𝚊𝚗𝚑 yelled
"Hurry up" ,on a horse, waiting to pick her up, she picked up the pace.
"We're gonna be late " he added, she hurried, got on the horse and they got on their way.
Meanwhile at home, 𝙰𝚜𝚕𝚛𝚘𝚗 and 𝙻𝚢𝚜𝚊𝚗𝚍𝚛𝚊 and few other friends and neighbors were decorating the house, waiting to surprise 𝙽𝚢𝚡𝚊𝚛𝚊 for her birthday, she completed 10 that day. When she and 𝚉𝚊𝚗𝚑 got home, she saw the decorations and quickly figured it was her birthday the decorations was for, she thought they forgot, they intentionally sent her to the shop to give them time to decorate the house, neighbors brought gifts, food and all, it was an all out party 𝙰𝚜𝚕𝚛𝚘𝚗 has been planning to mark her 10th birthday. She saw these and started crying, 𝚉𝚊𝚗𝚑 smiled and held her. 𝙰𝚜𝚕𝚛𝚘𝚗 , 𝙻𝚢𝚜𝚊𝚗𝚍𝚛𝚊 and others came out to cheer her, she was so happy, she ran and hugged 𝙰𝚜𝚕𝚛𝚘𝚗 and 𝙻𝚢𝚜𝚊𝚗𝚍𝚛𝚊 tightly together, still crying. Later on, they started giving her gifts, like fabrics, cheese, olives and a lot more, she was happy but there was something she was anticipating the most. Not long later, while everyone was eating, dancing, singing, 𝙰𝚜𝚕𝚛𝚘𝚗 called 𝙽𝚢𝚡𝚊𝚛𝚊 out and took her to the backyard where he kept the horse he bought for her. He knew that's what she wanted the most, he wasn't sure if a 10 year old can ride a horse but got one for her regardless.
"Oh my days, thank you so much brother, you're the best " she said .
"Don't mention" he replied, she hugged him tight and said
"I love you so much"
"Love you too. Alright go on and have fun"
"Can't I ride the horse now? "
"No you have guests, you have to be there with them " 𝙰𝚜𝚕𝚛𝚘𝚗 told her, she frowned a little and said
"Alright", then she walked away.
𝙻𝚢𝚜𝚊𝚗𝚍𝚛𝚊 walked up to him and held him, smiled
" This is nice" she said
"Yes, this is what I always wanted, she looks so happy"
"She's always happy, why won't she be, you do everything for her"
"I try my best. not quite enough yet but we are getting there" 𝙰𝚜𝚕𝚛𝚘𝚗 mentioned
"C'mon, you've come a long way, got a new shop, new house, not the best but it's definitely better than the last one, you're doing amazing my love" 𝙻𝚢𝚜𝚊𝚗𝚍𝚛𝚊 stated
"Yeah, thanks sweet" he replied , held her hand and walked to crowd, signaled 𝚉𝚊𝚗𝚑 who was having a drink. 𝚉𝚊𝚗𝚑 picked up a spoon and hit it on his cup to grab their attention, they all turned around and face them, 𝙰𝚜𝚕𝚛𝚘𝚗 then picked up a cup of drink, raised it up and said
"Today we celebrate my beautiful little hardworking sister's birthday, cheers to her new age ", they all cheered, then he continued
" But that's not all for today, today is for the 2 most important people in my life " , everything became quiet, everyone was curious, not quite sure what he was talking about, they thought it was just a birthday party. In the spur of moment, he dipped his hand in his pocket, for a second it felt suspenseful, everybody's eyes followed his hand right into that pocket including 𝙻𝚢𝚜𝚊𝚗𝚍𝚛𝚊, probing what's he's going to bring out. All of a sudden, he pulled out a tiny shiny object, they weren't sure what it was yet, it was 𝙻𝚢𝚜𝚊𝚗𝚍𝚛𝚊 who first noticed, her face suddenly brightened, her eyes and mouth became wide open, she started yelling in excitement, that's when everybody realized it was a ring. They were all shocked too and started cheering hard, clapping and banging on the table. 𝙻𝚢𝚜𝚊𝚗𝚍𝚛𝚊 has been waiting for this for years and it's finally happening. 𝙰𝚜𝚕𝚛𝚘𝚗 put the ring on her finger everybody got silent waiting for him to talk and he spoke
"I know we've both been waiting for this for a very long time, and i wanted to become the best version of myself before we do this but I just couldn't wait any longer, everyday without you feels like a thousand years, I guess we'll have to become the best version of ourselves together, marry me 𝙻𝚢𝚜𝚊𝚗𝚍𝚛𝚊 , there's nobody on this EARTH I'd rather be with", she jumped up of excitement and screamed
" Yessss" , the cheering resumed, louder this time, 𝙽𝚢𝚡𝚊𝚛𝚊 started crying again and ran to hug them, Meanwhile 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 was only clapping, surprisingly not looking as happy as he should, since they've all been waiting on this.
"Took you long enough" 𝙻𝚢𝚜𝚊𝚗𝚍𝚛𝚊 mentioned
"Any longer than today, I would've ran away " she added, everybody laughed. The party continued till night fall, the air was fresh, everybody happy.
"When do we start preparing for the wedding " 𝙽𝚢𝚡𝚊𝚛𝚊 pressed
"Relax 𝙽𝚢𝚡𝚊𝚛𝚊 , it's still your birthday, we'll start preparing tomorrow, okay? " 𝙰𝚜𝚕𝚛𝚘𝚗 assured
"Fine, I can't wait" 𝙽𝚢𝚡𝚊𝚛𝚊 replied, 𝙻𝚢𝚜𝚊𝚗𝚍𝚛𝚊 and 𝙰𝚜𝚕𝚛𝚘𝚗 couldn't stop smiling.
One week after 𝙰𝚎𝚛𝚎𝚜 birthday celebration had died down, 𝙰𝚜𝚕𝚛𝚘𝚗 and 𝙻𝚢𝚜𝚊𝚗𝚍𝚛𝚊 could finally start preparing for the wedding. Their house were lively, people all around, live stocks, fabrics, decorations, gifts and so much more. 𝙰𝚜𝚕𝚛𝚘𝚗 and his family were popular in 𝙰𝚛𝚌𝚊𝚍𝚒𝚊 for reasons we know of, but they were also loved, because they were kind people and never get into trouble, they were envied even, for being too peaceful , and their hardwork really made a lot of people admire them. They weren't rich yet but compared where they were close to a decade ago when they first met, they've came a long way.
𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 had an appointment in the 𝙲𝚒𝚝𝚊𝚍𝚎𝚕 that morning, he was a man of many jobs, a jack of all trades, he wasn't just a farmer and trader, he always worked on building projects and was very good at it, that's how he landed a job in the 𝙲𝚒𝚝𝚊𝚍𝚎𝚕.
"𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗, are you leaving already" 𝙽𝚢𝚡𝚊𝚛𝚊 asked
"Yes, 𝙽𝚢𝚡𝚊𝚛𝚊 " he replied
"Are you sure I can't come with you?, I haven't been to the 𝙲𝚒𝚝𝚊𝚍𝚎𝚕 before "
"Yes, I'm sure you can't come with me, what are you gonna do there? " 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 enquired
"I'm strong, I can help with the bricks" she responded, 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 scoffed and said
"Not with those small muscles, you can't" and he continued laughing, she frowned, and squeezed her lips
"Don't worry, you'll go there someday, you might even end up living there " 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 stated
"Really?, you think so? " 𝙽𝚢𝚡𝚊𝚛𝚊 asked , 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 sighed and said
"I'll get you something on my way back, go inside and tell them I'll be on my way "
"Alright, what about breakfast? "
"I'll eat something there, don't worry, just go " 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 said, 𝙽𝚢𝚡𝚊𝚛𝚊 walked in the house and 𝙻𝚢𝚜𝚊𝚗𝚍𝚛𝚊 came out, before 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 could get on his horse, she yelled
" Father! "
"Yes? "
"You're leaving already? "
"Sorry honey, I have to hurry " 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 clarified
"Hmmm, are you okay?, this is kinda strange, you're leaving before breakfast " 𝙻𝚢𝚜𝚊𝚗𝚍𝚛𝚊 bothered, asked
"No, honey, c'mon honey, I'm fine, this is the first time I'm getting an opportunity like this, I have to be punctual" 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 aired
"You're always punctual, and you always eat breakfast" she countered
"Honey..... " he said, walked up to her, held her and spoke
"I don't know what you're insinuating but I am fine, just have to be quick, I'll be home right after I'm done, okay? ", she exhaled and said
" Ok father, have fun in the 𝙲𝚒𝚝𝚊𝚍𝚎𝚕 " , he chucked and said
"I will honey " , he then walked to his horse,climbed and rode away, she was still worried , walked inside and went on with her activities.
Few hours later 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 got to the 𝙲𝚒𝚝𝚊𝚍𝚎𝚕, specifically the building he was called to work on. Upon arrival, he met some other workers there, and a strange bald man, looked extravagant and immensely rich, wore a garment, with jewelry stones all over, not to talk of the jewelry he was already wearing. 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 was stunned, he always admired wealth and always wanted to be that wealthy, he couldn't stop staring.
"Who is that man " he asked one of his coworkers
"You don't know that man? " coworker returned
"Will I be asking if I do? "
"Fair enough, that man right there, is Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗, the richest man in 𝙶𝚛𝚎𝚎𝚌𝚎 , are you leaving under a rock? "
"Ohh, I have certainly heard the name, just didn't know how he looked" 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 clarified
"Well now you do "
"What is he doing here anyways? "
"What is he doing here?, he owns this place " the coworker responded
"Of course, of course, but rich people just don't appear in one of the many places they own " 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 pointed out
"True, he might have a reason, that I do not know off, maybe this project is very important" the coworker suggested
"Apparently he is here looking for a particular man " another coworker who has been eavesdropping, said
"A particular man? " 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 asked
"Yes, yes, haven't you heard? " the other coworker asked
"Heard what ? " 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 questioned
"You really do live under a rock " The coworker concluded
"The King is in search of a bride, and has set out to look for one " The other coworker said
"Ok, so... where's the correlation? " , they both sighed, about to speak when a soldier asked
"You there, what is your name? "
"Me? " The two coworkers simultaneously asked
"No, not you" the soldier said, pointed to 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗'sdirection
"Me? " 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 asked
"Yes, you"
"My name is 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 "
"From 𝙰𝚛𝚌𝚊𝚍𝚒𝚊? "
"Yes"
"Get up and come with me"
"Uhmm, did I do something wrong" 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 asked
"No, Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 wants to have a word with you", 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 stood up and followed him curiously.
"Wait here" the soldier instructed , he waited as the soldier walked up to Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 and spoke to his ears, Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 looked back and saw 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 , walked up to him, looked at him deeply, 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 was confused. Without saying a single word, Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 instructed his soldiers to carry him, 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 quickly understood and pulled out his knife to defend himself. He got surrounded before he could even process what was going on completely
"How dare you raise your weapon in front of Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 " one of the soldiers asked, all the coworkers already knew there was trouble and they quietly walked away. 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 understood that he was completely outnumbered and there was nothing he could do, so he raised his hands and surrendered.
"Is this the man you were talking about? " a man who just came out of his chariot asked , 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 got even more frightened
"Yes Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 according to my sources " Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 replied
"Ohh, so why are your soldiers surrounding him?. Leave him be" Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 instructed, Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 signaled his soldiers to step down and they did
"So you are 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 ? " Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 enquired
"Yes" 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 replied, hesitantly
"Good good, somebody get him a horse. You're coming with us, don't worry you're not in any trouble" Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 said as he and Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 got on their chariots and rode away. A horse was brought to 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 but he refused it and rode his horse instead.
"Oh yeah, he's in big trouble" the coworker said
"Or not" the other coworker said
"What do you mean? "
"What if he was the man they came to look for , I mean, obviously, he's the man they came for ", the other coworker denoted, the first one started laughing and said
" You mean the great Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 andLord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 would come looking for an average man from 𝙰𝚛𝚌𝚊𝚍𝚒𝚊? "
"Well.... It's possible, you just saw it happen"
"Yeah sure" he said sarcastically as he kept laughing.
Few minutes later, Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 , Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 and 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 was sitted in an empty bar, they were both sitting in front of him, more like an interrogation setting, he was still nervous and confuse
"First of all, before we begin, you don't have to be frightened, you should be happy instead, because we brought good news " Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 stated
"I thought I was here to work " 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 mentioned, they both burst into laughter, he was confused
"You think- you think YOU, came to work here in the 𝙲𝚒𝚝𝚊𝚍𝚎𝚕 , a farmer " Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 said and his laugh increase, Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 was laughing too
"I'm also a builder, not just a farmer " 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 defended but that just made the laugh worse
"Just.... Just stop, don't try to explain" Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 insisted. They waited a few seconds for Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 to finish his laughter and then Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 said
"We have hundreds of professional builders here in the 𝙲𝚒𝚝𝚊𝚍𝚎𝚕 , we just didn't want any complications, that's why we called you as a builder "
"So why am i here then, did you bring me here to mock me? "
"No, no calm down, Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 please, explain" Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 requested
"Ahh yes, so King 𝙷𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛, wants a wife, even though we want him to go for a tour and find a wife, we'll like to find the wife for him, so he doesn't stress much and also so he can find the right woman " Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗
"So....? " 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 dug
"So.... for months we've been scouting for a wife all over 𝙶𝚛𝚎𝚎𝚌𝚎 untill one of my sources told me about a young woman in 𝙰𝚛𝚌𝚊𝚍𝚒𝚊 . They say she's the most beautiful woman there, but beauty isn't enough, we want quality, standards, knowledge and virtue, so we investigated, watched her for months and she ticked all the boxes and that my friend is why you are here" Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 concluded, 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 was still a little confused, still haven't grasped what was being said.
"I don't understand, what does this have to do with me? " 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 asked , they both looked disappointed, Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 exhaled and said
"Ok, here's what's going on, we want your daughter to marry the King" , 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 was shocked, he had mixed feeling about it although he was still piecing it together
"Wait, so let me get this straight, the woman you've been spying for months was my daughter? " 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 probed, they both looked at each other , then Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 spoke
"Uhhh, yeah, pretty much "
"Look we had to make sure who we're picking, sorry it had to be that way" Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 added
"Sorry?, no that's not what I meant " 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 said as his face brightened.
"So what did you mean? " Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 enquired
"That my daughter is worth being scouted by the Kingsmen "
"Ohh" they both expressed
"Well.... right, anyways-"
"Wait, are you guys serious about... choosing my daughter for the King, you mean the King 𝙷𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛? " 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 checked, so excited he couldn't hide it
"Uhh yeah, not sure there's any other King her but anyways, we have a problem" Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 mentioned
"There's a problem? " Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 asked
"A problem, they can't be any problem, I mean what can it possibly be, he's the King, right? " 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 prest
"Yeah, but the problem isn't coming from him. Mr 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 , I understand your daughter is getting married in a fortnight, to a young man she has been in a relationship with for several years" Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 revealed
"Really?, my sources didn't mention that" Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 said
"No... " 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 said, laughed awkwardly and continued
"....he's just a friend, that's all, family friend"
"A friend huh?, that's not what my sources say" Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 countered , drew a book out of his garment, opened it and read
"Here it says.... 'they both kissed in the garden ' another part says 'in the Cornfields' another one says 'in the market. I don't think a family friend should be kissing that much, no? "
"Woah, you sneaky bastard " Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 said and laughed and they both looked at 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 who is surprised how much information they had on her , he sighed and spoke
"Well... that's a little bit excessive, don't you think? "
"I'm sorry my friend, but it had to be done" Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 defended
"Ok, yeah they are in a relationship, but they aren't married yet, so the King doesn't have a problem, I mean even though they're married, he's the King right? " 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 interjected
"Woww, but he already proposed" Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 countered
"So what Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 ?, that's not marriage " Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 intercepted
"Exactly, they aren't married yet " 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 supported
"Do you not like this young man? " Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 pressed
"I do, I genuinely do, but it's the King, can't refuse him" 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 fended
"Do not use the King's superiority as an excuse for greed, I know a lot about you too Mr 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 , your ambitions, I know you love wealth and would do anything to obtain it. So, don't do that here " Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 flung
"I'm sorry my Lord" 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 apologized, Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 sighed and asked
"By the gods, Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 , why do you care? , the rules say married and they are not "
"Still we can't force it, has to be her consent " Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 returned
"No it doesn't, the law said marriage " Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 countered
"So you really want the King to forcefully marry a bride, that'd stain his reputation" Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 intercepted
"Nobody has to know. Look, we don't even know if he'd like the woman, but if he does, then he's gonna get her , these blabber are unnecessary" Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 implied
"You can force her if you want " 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 jumped in
"I beg your pardon? " Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 was shocked, even Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 was a little stunned and chuckled
"Look, all my life, I've been waiting for an opportunity like this, all my life. I wanna be wealthy, live huge lives, you guys have it, then why can't i, I do 4 times the job you do and I get nothing for it. I needed this and I'm getting it in the best way possible, by the King himself and I must have " 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 expressed
"Even though it means giving your only daughter away? " Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 pressed
"Don't make it sound like that, I'm doing her a favor, a lifetime favor, she might get married to the greatest King in the world at the moment, you call that giving away? " 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 defended
"What if she doesn't want it?" Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 asked
"Ohh she will, she must, this is generational" 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 replied, Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 scoffed and shook his head
"He has a point Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 " Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 said
"If she doesn't agree to it, then this whole thing is called off, we'll find another woman " Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 implied
"That'll take months to accomplish" Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 pointed out
"I don't care, she is supposed to get married in 2 weeks. Do whatever magic you're gonna do and get her to marry the King before she marries that man. Because I don't think she'll agree easily, from my report, they are madly in love and once again, do not pressure her , understood? " Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 pressed
"Yes my Lord" 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 said and bowed as Lord 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗 stood up abruptly and spoke
"We're done hear, we'll be on our way "
"I'll meet you outside, let me have a quick word with him " Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 said
"Suit yourself" he replied as he walked away.
"You know who i am right? "
"Yes I do"
"Who am I? "
" Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 , the richest man in 𝙶𝚛𝚎𝚎𝚌𝚎 "
"Then you know I can change your life in a snap of a finger? "
"Yes I'm aware "
"Good..." Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 said, snapped his finger and a servant walked in with a chest, opened it and it was filled with gold , 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 gasped, couldn't believe it
"... this is yours, you can have it" Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 offered
"No way, are you serious? "
"Yes this is nothing compared to what I'll give you, lands, houses, properties, golds, you name it, all you have to do is get your daughter to marry the King, I don't care the method, just make sure it happens, okay? "
"Okay, thank you so much, I'll make sure it happens, I swear it "
"Good good good, you are a smart and ambitious man, you remind me of my old self. I'll take my leave now, I'll wait to hear from you"
"And you shall" 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 replied and Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 walked away, leaving him stunned and excited.
Later that evening, 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 got home, carrying the things he bought on his way home, including the ones he bought for 𝙽𝚢𝚡𝚊𝚛𝚊. Everyone home was surprised the amount of things he carried home.
"Woww, that much on your first day? " 𝙻𝚢𝚔𝚘𝚗 asked, 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 only scoffed and kept walking
"Maybe I should get a job there too" 𝙻𝚢𝚔𝚘𝚗 added
"Yeah?, good luck with that " 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 said.
𝙻𝚢𝚔𝚘𝚗 , who was 𝙰𝚜𝚕𝚛𝚘𝚗's bully is now a friend to the family. In that 4 years, 𝙻𝚢𝚔𝚘𝚗 grew mature in sense and realized that instead of hating 𝙰𝚜𝚕𝚛𝚘𝚗 , he could just work with him, because at a point, it got obvious that 𝙰𝚜𝚕𝚛𝚘𝚗 was making progress. He joined 𝙰𝚜𝚕𝚛𝚘𝚗, 𝙰𝚜𝚕𝚛𝚘𝚗 being a thoughtful man he is, accepted him but as a worker, from there, they became friends.
𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 dropped the load he was carrying and called 𝙽𝚢𝚡𝚊𝚛𝚊 , she quickly rushed outside, 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 gave her the lots he bought for her and she got excited,jumping and rushed to hug him, but then she said
"How did you manage to get this much already? "
"If you don't want it, give it back" 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 suggested
"Of course I want it, I'm just asking"
" well, don't! "
𝙻𝚢𝚜𝚊𝚗𝚍𝚛𝚊 walked in
"Father, I thought I heard your voice, how was it? " she asked
"It went surprisingly well" 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 answered
"Ohh, I see.... whose are those? " 𝙻𝚢𝚜𝚊𝚗𝚍𝚛𝚊 enquired when she saw the load
"What do you think?, bought them on my way home" 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 responded
"YOU , bought them? " 𝙻𝚢𝚜𝚊𝚗𝚍𝚛𝚊 pried
"Yes, I just said that" 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 retorted
"How? "
"With money? " 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 flung back
"I know father, where did you get that much money from? " she enquired
"Ohh great, now I have to report everything to my daughter " 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 resisted
"That's not what i meant "
"I just got home, please allow me go inside and rest my head" 𝚉𝚊𝚗𝚑 requested
"Alright Father, I'm sorry" she said. She has never seen her dad in such manner, she knew something was wrong from that morning he refused to eat breakfast. 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 nodded to her apology, stood up and went inside his room, on his way he saw 𝙰𝚜𝚕𝚛𝚘𝚗 and Completely ignored him, 𝙰𝚜𝚕𝚛𝚘𝚗 was surprised, saw 𝙻𝚢𝚜𝚊𝚗𝚍𝚛𝚊 walking in and asked
"Is he okay? "
"Something isn't right, he's hiding something" 𝙻𝚢𝚜𝚊𝚗𝚍𝚛𝚊 answered
"C'mon, maybe he's just a little tired, your Father doesn't hide anything from you " 𝙰𝚜𝚕𝚛𝚘𝚗 countered
"Go outside and see for yourself" she urged
"See what? "
"Just go"
𝙰𝚜𝚕𝚛𝚘𝚗 went outside and saw the load
"Woahh, he brought this? " 𝙰𝚜𝚕𝚛𝚘𝚗 asked, she nodded
"Damn, maybe you should talk to him" 𝙰𝚜𝚕𝚛𝚘𝚗 steered
"I tried, he isn't letting" 𝙻𝚢𝚜𝚊𝚗𝚍𝚛𝚊 said
"Ohh I'm sure it's nothing. Whatever is going on, it can't be that serious, you know" 𝙰𝚜𝚕𝚛𝚘𝚗 assumed
"You're right, you're right" she agreed, so they resumed with their preparations.
The next morning , 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 , who woke up earlier than usual, stood up, walked outside his room and saw 𝙰𝚜𝚕𝚛𝚘𝚗 and 𝙻𝚢𝚜𝚊𝚗𝚍𝚛𝚊 cuddling in the living room, huge smile on their faces even while asleep, he stopped and looked hard at them, contemplating for some minutes, he then exhaled sharply and said
"This will be for her own good, she may not appreciate now but in the long run, she'll understand. This is a chance to pull out the whole generation out of poverty, she must do it, for the greater good" to himself, then he rushed back into his room, picked up his freshly folded garment, wore it and stormed out of the house. It even woke 𝙽𝚢𝚡𝚊𝚛𝚊 up, she was wondering what the sound was she walked outside, and saw 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 getting on his horse and rode away furiously.
Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 was having his morning cup of tee in one of his many taverns when he heard a commotion outside. He ignored it at first, continued his tea but it only got worse, so he stood up abruptly , walked outside and saw his soldiers restricting 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗
"You saw me with him the other day, let me through, he knows me" 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 argued, not a single word from the soldiers then Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 sighed and said
"Yes, yes, I know him, let him go"
They released him
"Thank you my Lord" 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 thanked
"Why are you here Mr 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 , unless you already persuade her , because I don't see any other reason you'd want to disturb my peace, on a peaceful morning " Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 pushed
"Sorry my Lord, I had to reach you somehow and they said here's the only place I can find you in the morning" 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 explained
"What do you need? " Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 pressed
"I need an hospital" 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 requested, Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 and his soldiers was confused and starred at each other , then Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 spoke
"An hospital? , who do you think I am, a doctor? "
"I need an hospital for the plan to be successful, maybe you'd have to bribe the doctor, but I need a fake report today and everybody there to play along " 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 proposed
"Ohh, i like the way you think. Where are you from again? " Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 questioned
" 𝙰𝚛𝚌𝚊𝚍𝚒𝚊 , my Lord "
"Hmmm, lemme see.... 𝙼𝚢𝚔𝚘𝚗𝚘𝚜 , do i own any hospital in 𝙰𝚛𝚌𝚊𝚍𝚒𝚊? " Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 asked his cup bearer
"Not yet, my Lord" 𝙼𝚢𝚔𝚘𝚗𝚘𝚜 replied
" So you do have a hospital? " 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 denoted
"Hospitals! " 𝙼𝚢𝚔𝚘𝚗𝚘𝚜 corrected 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗
"Yes, yes I do in fact. You don't meet the owner when you need a hospital, you need a doctor, that's why I answered you such " Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 clarified
"Ohh... " 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 expressed, impressed.
"Anyways, since I don't have any hospital in your home town-"
"You don't have to, you just have to bribe the doctors" 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 interrupted.
"Or....? " Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 prest
"Or what? " 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 countered, Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 exhaled, disappointed and aforesaid
"You really think like a poor man, why bribe the doctors when you can just buy the hospital? " Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 stated , 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 gasped loudly, Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 pointed at him and laughed with his soldiers.
"Ohh that look, i love when you poor people do that " Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 added and couldn't stop laughing, 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 was speechless, felt a little angry but heavily embarrassed. The laughter went on for about 30 seconds, then Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 calmed himself, and said
"My apologies Mr 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 , we didn't mean to, sometimes these things just happened"
One of the soldiers burst out laughing again but got shushed by Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 who was trying to hold his. 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 just stood there speechless, couldn't believe it
"So, as I was saying, take a crest pin from of my soldiers, wear it there and purchase the hospital, do whatever you want with the hospital, I'll sort out the rest " Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 stated. 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 couldn't believe it and asked
"Is that all? "
One of the soldiers sniggered, they all tried holding the laughter
"Yes, yes that's it " Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 replied
"No coins, just a crest " 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 added
"Yes, just a crest, you should leave now, please hand him the crest " the crest was handed to him and Lord 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚗 waved at him, gesturing him to leave, as soon he started walking away, they all burst into intense laughter. 𝚉𝚊𝚑𝚗 felt embarrassed. In what world do people think buying a hospital is normal and instead,bribing the doctor is strange and funny, he took this as another motivation to become rich so he can relate to jokes like that.
