Chapter 414 - Chapter 414: Specialized Intensive Training for Ten Days

All seventy one Pokémon currently in the ranch, regardless of size, gathered in the open space in front of the cabin.

Since this was an intensive training session, everyone had to participate together. Pokémon like Meowth and Morpeko, who usually lazily around the ranch, could take this opportunity to slim down a bit.

"Get yourselves ready. Today is the first day of intensive training, so bring out your energy and spirit."

"Kang!"

"Draa~"

"Cyc!"

"Jiggly~"

"Cin!"

The Pokémon responded loudly, their morale high and full of fighting spirit.

"Very good, that is the energy I want to see." After praising them, Silas began assigning different training tasks.

Because their roles differed, the training intensity for each Pokémon varied greatly.

For those like Cinccino, Jigglypuff, Alcremie, and Rowlet, things were the easiest. Together with the five Chikorita, they shared the same training volume, jogging around the ranch under the guidance of the younger Indeedee.

"Brother Indeedee, help me supervise the two Meowth, Morpeko, and Tropius. Do not let them slack off."

There was no need to mention Meowth, since it had already grown chubby from not working.

Morpeko was the same. With endless snacks during winter, it had gained an entire extra layer of fat.

As for Tropius, it had been dragged over by Meganium. Tropius after child rearing, its body had expanded horizontally compared to before it arrived at the ranch.

"Indee."

Older brother Indeedee nodded in agreement. As he supervised the four chubby Pokémon in their weight loss routine, Silas observed for a while before moving on.

On this side were Perrserker, Torracat, Clawitzer, Charcadet, and little Aerodactyl. What they were undergoing was professional battle training.

This included not only physical conditioning, but also endurance training to withstand hits, followed by specialized move enhancement training.

A single Pokémon could learn at least forty to fifty moves, yet the number they could truly master and integrate perfectly was fewer than ten.

This was the origin of move sets. Both trainers and Pokémon had limited energy.

Generally speaking, if a rookie trainer could bring out a Pokémon with four well mastered moves, they would at least make it into the top sixteen in a regional league tournament.

Unless it was an especially long lived Pokémon.

For example, Silas's own Dragonite had a certain level of proficiency in all its moves.

It could be said that no matter what kind of opponent it faced, it could always pull out an appropriate move to respond.

Of course, there were drawbacks. None of its moves had reached complete mastery. At the Champion level, where exchanges were decided in seconds, being faster or slower by even a single second could determine the outcome of a small match.

Taking Extreme Speed, a move Dragonite could use, as an example, the average activation time was about three seconds. However, Lance's Dragonite could execute it instantly within one second.

Often, before the opponent could even react, Dragonite had already appeared right in front of them.

The result was obvious.

Silas's Dragonite was only slightly better than average, at around two point five seconds.

What could a difference of one and a half seconds do?

It was enough for Kangaskhan to land a Fake Out followed immediately by a Power Up Punch.

After all, the extreme limit of Fake Out was only half a second.

As for this ten-day special training, Dragonite's main goal was to strengthen its moves proficiency. Extreme Speed, Dragon Breath, Blizzard, Air Slash, and Draco Meteor all needed to reach a passing standard, otherwise it would suffer greatly.

After arranging Dragonite's training plan, Silas moved on to the next Pokémon. He had prepared different enhancement plans tailored to each one.

Half an hour later, once Diancie understood his instructions, the intensive training officially began, and the ranch became a bustling scene.

Everyone worked hard toward a shared goal. Silas moved among them, occasionally offering guidance, correcting mistakes, or delivering food and water to replenish their stamina.

This structured and rhythmic routine continued for ten days, ending on the last day of October.

During the training period, Silas had almost completely cut off contact with the outside world.

If anything needed handling, he would let Diantha take care of it and simply inform him before going to bed.

Throughout these ten days, Silas also held himself to strict standards. Once business was discussed, he would end the call immediately without lingering.

…

October 30th, League Calendar, eleven in the morning.

The Pokémon had grown accustomed to this lifestyle. Without needing Silas to urge them, they completed their daily training on their own.

Clap clap clap.

Silas clapped his hands to gather their attention and spoke loudly, "The ten day intensive training ends today. This afternoon, everyone is free to relax."

There was no need to push too hard on the final day. Completing the daily routine was enough.

"Morpe!" (Yay!)

Morpeko was the first to cry out excitedly. For it, not having to train was simply wonderful.

However, Silas's next words immediately dragged it back down.

"Oh right, Morpeko, your weight loss has not reached the target yet. You still need to keep working." Silas said with a half smile while squeezing one of Cinccino's fluffy paws.

In the next second, Morpeko froze. Its expression looked worse than crying as it sat down on the ground, looking up at Silas pitifully.

"Do not look at me."

Silas said bluntly, "Who told you to sneak snacks at night? You even gained another half pound."

"Morpe Morpeko!"

Morpeko tried to defend itself, but the extra chubbiness on its body was undeniable.

Older brother Indeedee walked over and used psychic power to lift Morpeko, then called over the two Meowth and Tropius, supervising them as they continued their weight loss training.

With its head drooping, Morpeko accepted this harsh reality.

It reached into its little pouch and pulled out its remaining snacks.

Since things had come to this, it might as well eat.

It tossed the snack into the air, opening its mouth to let it fall in.

But when Morpeko opened its eyes, it saw the snack floating in midair. It immediately turned to stare at older brother Indeedee.

"Indee."

Older brother Indeedee shook its head. Silas had just instructed that Morpeko could only eat after completing its training.

On the other side, the Pokémon burst into cheers.

Cinccino and the others chased and played around, while little Aerodactyl acted like a hawk pursuing them.

The Mudsdale brothers was sent by Silas to the river for a bath, as they were so dirty that he did not even know where to start cleaning them.

Silas leaned against Dragonite's creamy white belly, which was as soft as Snorlax.

In his arms were Torracat and shiny Charcadet. Cyclizar was forced to act as a makeshift table beside him, several notebooks placed on its back.

Silas quickly wrote down records of the improvements each Pokémon had made over the ten days.

Kangaskhan and Greninja showed only slight improvement. Significant growth for them required long term accumulation of training, but even each small step forward was worth celebrating.

As for the most obvious improvement, it was undoubtedly Dragonite. It was no longer just a reckless fighter relying solely on brute strength.

Dragonite's talent was absolutely among the very top tier. In just ten days, it had made tremendous progress.

Its Extreme Speed could now reach a fastest activation of one point five seconds, with a normal range of about one point eight to two seconds.

This speed was not slow and was sufficient to handle most battles.

Moves like Dragon Breath and Blizzard had also reduced their activation times by one or even two seconds. Dragonite was gradually realizing its potential.

Seeing such improvement was truly gratifying. Silas continued recording the progress of the other Pokémon.
