Chapter 3 - The Call of Darkness – 3

Scene One: Arif Alone

Niloy is missing.

Rahat is no longer the same.

Even in the middle of a crowded city, Arif feels completely alone.

He no longer looks into mirrors.

Every mirror in his room is covered with cloth.

But the problem is —

reflections don't live only in mirrors.

One night, he sees his reflection in a glass of water.

Behind him stands Rahat.

And behind Rahat —

the girl.

Arif drops the glass.

Scene Two: The Decision to Return

Arif realizes —

if he doesn't end this, he won't survive.

Where it began,

it must end.

He returns to that village in Murshidabad.

The villagers look at him with fear.

The old man speaks again:

"I warned you, boys…

She wants belief…

But belief has a price…"

Arif asks,

"How do I end this?"

The old man replies slowly:

"The truth no one accepted…

must finally be accepted by all."

Scene Three: Return to the Mansion

Night.

Arif stands once again in front of the mansion.

The door opens on its own.

Inside, it feels colder than before.

New portraits now hang on the walls.

Rahat.

Niloy.

Sagar.

Their pictures are trapped inside old frames.

A voice speaks from behind:

"You came…"

Arif turns.

Rahat is standing there.

But there is no life in his eyes.

Scene Four: Face to Face

The large mirror room.

The mirror is whole again.

The girl is now fully visible.

She speaks calmly:

"They called me mad…

What will you call me?"

Trembling, Arif replies:

"I believe you."

The room shakes.

But this time, instead of laughter —

tears form in her black eyes.

She whispers:

"I only wanted someone to know the truth…"

Arif says,

"I know.

And I will make sure everyone knows.

Your story will not stay buried."

Scene Five: Release

A storm erupts.

The portraits fall one by one.

The shadows of Rahat, Niloy, and Sagar separate from the walls.

The girl's figure slowly begins to break into light.

She says one final word:

"Thank you…"

Then — silence.

The house stops shaking.

The darkness grows lighter.

Final Scene: A New Morning

Morning sunlight touches the river.

Arif walks out of the mansion alone.

He turns back.

The house now looks empty.

Lifeless.

Days later —

A newspaper publishes the true story of the zamindar's daughter.

Her suffering.

Her loneliness.

Her truth.

For the first time, the villagers pray for her.

Rahat, Niloy, and Sagar are never found.

But sometimes, when Arif stands by the river,

he feels a peaceful presence.

No laughter.

No shadow.

Just a soft breeze.
