Chapter 1 - The first meet

We used to go to school every day. Our school was huge. It had a large playground in front of it. There was a beautiful garden. There was also a swimming pool, and many other facilities.

We studied in Room No. 14. There were many students in our class. I, Sanjib, and Kartik were three best friends. Everyone helped one another—whether it was with studies or anything else. Our teachers were also very affectionate toward us. In this way, our days were passing happily.

One day, during our Physics class, our headmaster suddenly entered the classroom. With him was a sweet and beautiful girl. Sir introduced her to all of us. Her way of speaking and her behavior were very gentle and charming. Within a few days, she became close friends with the three of us. In this way, a new member joined our group—sorry, a new female member—Megha (the beautiful girl).

Falling in Love

One day, during our Mathematics class, the teacher gave us some problems to solve. We all started working on them. Megha was weak in mathematics, so she asked Sanjib to show her how to solve one of the problems. Sanjib agreed to help her. But our math teacher was very strict and clever. He noticed them talking and shouted,

"Sanjib! Stand up!"

Sanjib was startled and stood up.

"What happened, Sir?" he asked.

"Why are you showing Megha the solution? Doesn't she know how to solve it herself?" the teacher said.

"Sorry, Sir," Sanjib apologized.

"Keep quiet! Stand there!" the teacher ordered.

After the class ended and the teacher left, Megha apologized to Sanjib.

"I am really sorry for what happened today. If I had known this would happen, I would never have asked you…"

"It's okay," Sanjib replied. "To gain something good, sometimes you have to give up something good."

"What do you mean?" Megha asked.

"Oh, nothing. Leave it. Let's go and play," Sanjib said.

Megha understood what he meant and agreed with his suggestion.

And in this way, the love story of Sanjib and Megha began. They seemed like the most handsome couple in our country. Truly, their love felt eternal—like a symbol of hope and life itself.
