"Eric Linaeas," said a blonde-haired young man with a smile that left many of the female students visibly flustered. Most people in the room already knew who he was, which made it obvious he was a high ranker.
That guy is bad news, Lorelle thought, watching Eric take his seat.
[Did he eventually become a villain?]
"He did. He was responsible for the death of a hidden heroine, all because he got jealous over his fiancée," Lorelle muttered under his breath.
The next person stood up.
"Allen," said a young man with grey-white hair and merlot-red eyes, not bothering to give his full name before sitting back down. He carried himself with a natural authority, and his face was the kind that made other guys instinctively want to look away.
Allen, Lorelle thought, keeping his eyes on him as he sat at the front row with his group. He was probably there to keep up the image of a model student.
[Villain or…]
"Do you even need to ask at this point? Look at who he's sitting with, and you already know who he's engaged to," Lorelle said, not bothering to elaborate, and leaned back in his seat.
"Micheal Rolphen," said a young man with long blonde hair and sharp features, his face almost too refined, his skin smooth and clear, the kind of look that could easily turn heads without him trying.
"Scarlet Raphiel," said the girl seated right next to him, with long black hair and the same merlot-red eyes. She was striking in a way that was hard to ignore, her features precise and her presence composed.
[Who are they?]
"The guy's a prince, from one of the kingdoms within Illuminon," Lorelle said, stretching his arms to work out the stiffness. "The girl is his fiancée, though not for much longer," he added, and strangely felt none of the usual irritation he got when thinking about the major characters.
[Why not?]
"You've been asking a lot of questions and it's getting exhausting," Lorelle complained, his ash-white eyes drifting to the next person standing up.
[You should be grateful I'm having a conversation with you instead of finding new ways to mess with your head.]
"Really glad you held back today," Lorelle said flatly.
[Just tell me.]
"He falls in love with some commoner named Liliana," Lorelle muttered, leaving the rest unsaid.
[So he ends up neglecting his fiancée while chasing after her?]
"Exactly."
[Is his fiancée a heroine?]
"Really?" Lorelle rolled his eyes.
[Okay, fair enough. But what about…]
The voice was about to continue when a girl with pale pink hair and matching eyes stood up, and something shifted in the room immediately. Every guy in the class felt it, though none of them could explain it, they were just suddenly drawn to her in a way that didn't feel entirely voluntary. Lorelle wasn't immune to it either.
"Liliana Creamwell," she said with a smile, and several people were already halfway in love with her before she even sat back down.
"She's dangerous," Lorelle muttered, pulling himself together.
[A villain?]
"Through and through. But you'd never guess it from how innocent she comes across. She deliberately made that fool fall for her, and it was all for one reason," he said, then stopped.
[Which is?]
"Tell me how you knew about my destiny first, and then maybe I'll tell you more," he said.
[…]
"Then I guess I'll be keeping my secrets too."
[It's better you don't know. It's for your own good.]
"I decide what's for my own good, not you," he said, and then looked up as someone he hadn't wanted to see face to face for years stood up from their seat.
"Eloisa Carlien," said a girl with white hair laced with blue at the ends, and the same blue eyes. She was beautiful, there wasn't any other way to put it.
[A heroine?]
Lorelle said nothing.
[Come on, just tell me.]
Still nothing.
[Tch. Stubborn human.]
The voice faded.
Lorelle watched her and felt a rush of emotions he couldn't easily sort through or name, and the one that came through clearest was guilt.
Eloisa.
"Rizel Steelburn," said another girl, with a striking look all her own, and after her another stood up, "Ariana Frosten," and more than a few of the guys in the room couldn't help wondering what it would be like to end up with one of these girls as a permanent roommate.
