Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 Will Behrens

By the time Professor Flitwick left, the sky had already grown dim.

Will closed the door, his expression returning to indifference. Back in the living room, he glanced at the photo frame on the wall. The woman was beautiful and captivating, and the boy in her arms forced a somewhat stiff smile; Will's thoughts began to wander.

On May 16, 1980, a baby boy was born in a private room at St. Mary's Hospital in London. His mother, Dorothy Berens, named the baby Will Howard.

It is worth mentioning that the contemporary Duke of Norfolk was named Miles Fitzalan Howard.

Will's biological father was Edward Fitzalan Howard, the Duke's son and the Earl of Arundel.

On May 27, 1980, Dorothy Berens' dream of marrying into a prestigious family was shattered. The Earl of Arundel did not marry her, and her son did not receive the Howard surname. Under the other party's influence, Will Howard became Will Berens.

Two months later, Dorothy Berens received a residence in London for her and her child to live in. The Duke's son was not entirely heartless; a generous sum of child support arrived every month. The other party agreed to support the mother and son, but only after signing an agreement strictly forbidding the disclosure of Will's identity. However, Dorothy Berens was not satisfied. After multiple unsuccessful negotiations, she became neurotic and began to drink and smoke heavily.

Young Will Berens didn't know why he was locked in a dark room, and scars began to appear on his body, hidden beneath his clothes. His personality became introverted and timid; until a magical outburst occurred.

During that magical outburst, little Will was sobbing in the darkroom. The violent magical outburst made him enter a chaotic state; little Will was surprised to find himself a white phantom, able to see himself sleeping in the darkness. Young as he was, he didn't yet know this state was called death.

Subsequently, Will only felt like he had a dream, a different world, a different life. He didn't know if it was a dream or reality; it was just that when he woke up again, he had become a completely new person, not the timid little Will, nor the'small-town scholar'.

He was Will Berens, a chosen one with a golden finger, a born Wizard who could see the flow of magic.

And after he realized his classmate was named "Hermione Granger," he intentionally sought out the magical world and successfully found it. The pounds he took from his drunken mother could be exchanged for enough Galleons at Gringotts, so he could naturally afford magical books.

The existence of the "system" on Will allowed him to gain more positive feedback from his studies; coupled with Will Berens' own fervent pursuit of magic, the wonderful sensation of magic flowing through his body and being compiled and exported by Spells made him so comfortable he forgot himself.

Seeking knowledge and exploring truth was a physiological need for Will, almost like eating. In places Dorothy Berens couldn't see, Will was constantly studying magic, even though he would still be beaten and grounded. But for Will, those were just matters of a few spells; without a contract, there wasn't even a Trace in his wand, and Will didn't care what would happen if he used a Memory Charm or a Muggle Repelling Charm on his biological mother.

A year and a half ago, Dorothy died in a car accident; Will felt nothing special. Born but not raised, a broken finger can be repaid. Will remembered that saying.

He had already repaid Dorothy's debt, and he was not sad; or rather, every wound on his body, every scar on his body, was his sorrow.

Subsequently, Will, free from all worries, became engrossed in magic, forgetting to eat and sleep.

He quickly mastered many things. He learned Charms quickly and well, and in just over a year, he had already mastered the third-year Charms Class; as for the subjects that required memorization, he was still not bad. Not only the curriculum, but he also purchased a large number of magical books.

His talent was very high; he could see the flow of magic, and even, to some extent, the changes in magic. When he studied Spells, he found them very wonderful. magic was the basis of Spells, and Spells were like a programming language that shaped magic into specific things and then exported them.

Will came back from his memories, pushed open the study door, and pulled open a hidden bookshelf, where a large number of magical books were displayed.

"Eccentric Wizards," "Analyzing Your Brain – Occlumency," "Secrets of the Dark Arts," "Most Poisonous magic," "'Sinful' magic – Analyzing Dark Arts," "Herpo's Wonderful Creations – Horcrux," "Are Werewolves Naturally Born?," "Soul Transference – Talking Goats"; Professor Flitwick's feeling was correct, Will's interests were indeed wide-ranging.

Will pulled out "Most Poisonous magic" and read it with relish.

After choosing the additional ability for Charms LV4, Will continued to delve into knowledge, and his experience constantly increased.

The study light stayed on until late at night before Will went to rest.

After the magical outburst, his energy had always been abundant, sometimes even allowing him to immerse himself in books for a day or two without sleep.

In the following days, Will lived a solitary life of "reading – practicing magic – eating – sleeping" day after day. Time flowed, and it was soon September.

Today was a rare clear day. Will made himself a somewhat oddly paired breakfast and casually put his lunchbox into his trunk; the Chinese soy milk was a failure, mainly because using the Exploding Charm on soybeans didn't seem to produce soy milk very well, and he hadn't discovered any magic for grinding beans.

However, the steamed dumplings and fried dough sticks were good, and paired with coffee, although a bit strange, it was still delicious.

After casting an Undetectable Extension Charm on his small trunk, Will cast a Levitation Charm on it, then carried the trunk and left the house he had lived in for eleven years.
