Chapter 299 - Chapter 299 : The Knight King

"Long live the King!"

"Long live the King!"

The chants and cheers echoed throughout the city's enormous main square, which was filled with thousands of people who had gathered to witness their king's return, raising their hands high and shouting at the top of their lungs. Meanwhile, the royal procession slowly made its way through the streets of the city, which were decorated with flags and flowers, and everyone stared toward the Knight King, who rode atop his white horse, his gleaming silver armor reflecting the radiance of the sun, while his knights followed behind him in an orderly formation, resembling an iron wall moving as a single body in a majestic scene.

The reason for this celebration was the great victory the Knight King had achieved over the King of the Giants on Mount Saint-Michel .

a terrifying being that had struck fear into the hearts of the people in this region for many years. He would emerge from his dark cave with his followers, the giants, kidnap women from the nearby villages, and devour them together with his group in blood-soaked feasts that sent shivers down the spine.

No human army had been able to confront him throughout all those years because his strength was overwhelming; every blow from his hand could shatter an entire mountain range.

He was therefore considered an unstoppable calamity, something that no one could possibly deal with and that could only be eliminated through a miracle, until the Knight King and his knights arrived.

After a long and arduous battle that lasted for days and nights, he finally managed to subdue that giant, and in the end, in a scene that no human could have believed possible, the Knight King himself severed its head with his gleaming sword. That single moment was enough to immortalize his name in the hearts of the people as a legendary hero.

Inside the palace, far from the noise of the celebrations, Sera sat in the largest seat around the enormous round table made of luxurious black wood, staring with intense concentration at the map spread out before her, showing the borders of her kingdom and the surrounding regions.

Around her sat the rest of her knights, each wearing his own distinctive armor, their serious expressions reflecting their disciplined spirit.

As for the reason she was called the King instead of the Queen, that had been her own suggestion. When her kingdom began to grow and her fame spread, she noticed that some people, especially those from other nations, looked at her differently simply because she was a woman, as though the throne did not suit her or her strength was somehow inferior.

So she insisted on changing her title to the Knight King because she did not want anyone to belittle her or her achievements because of her gender, and from that point onward, she became known throughout the entire region by that title.

About forty years had now passed since she entered the Inner World. That was not a short period for an ordinary being, but it seemed extremely brief compared to what her other siblings had accomplished.

Sera had entered the Inner World somewhat later in the order than her other brothers and sisters, who had completed their training journeys over the preceding years, each of them leaving behind their own legends that would continue to be told for countless ages.

Some had left behind kingdoms, some had left behind legendary weapons, and some had left behind martial techniques that were still being practiced.

Originally, Sera had intended to leave her position to her twin sister, Nira, but her father, Dan, had told her that the Inner World was still not ready for Nira to enter, because there were other things that had to happen first, and Nira's time had not yet come. She had to continue on her own journey.

When Sera first appeared in the Inner World, she did not know where to go or what she was supposed to do, but she soon found herself in a human region that was suffering terribly from repeated attacks by various evil races and entities.

Some were monsters, some were sorcerers, and others were strange creatures, leaving the humans living in constant fear, sleeping with their weapons beside them and waking to screams of terror, with no one to protect them.

Because of her upright personality and her inability to tolerate injustice, Sera could not simply stand by and do nothing in the face of this tragedy. She began fighting those evil entities herself, and although she was alone at first, her strength and courage attracted the attention of many people.

People began gathering around her, first as small groups of fleeing farmers, then as entire villages seeking her protection. Thus, the first settlement formed around her, and that settlement became the first foundation of her current kingdom. It then began to expand little by little, while powerful warriors who believed in her cause gathered around her. She became known as the Knight King and founded her kingdom together with her knights, naming it the Kingdom of the Lake, after the clear blue lake that lay at the center of her lands and had become a symbol of prosperity and peace throughout the region.
