"Good evening."
Pei Ye tossed the lid aside.
Only then did the "Little Mouse" react, hastily swallowing the noodles stuffed in his mouth.
"Good evening." The "Little Mouse's" voice was unexpectedly pleasant. It didn't match his rugged appearance at all, carrying a distinctly youthful, boyish quality.
He was tall and burly, yet currently huddled in the cramped, damp sewer. His thick beard hadn't been groomed for a long time. With heavy eyebags and bloodshot eyes brimming with exhaustion, he looked incredibly pitiful.
"Excuse me..." the tall, burly "Little Mouse" asked timidly. "Do you need me for something?"
Pei Ye said, "You stole my food."
The "Little Mouse" panicked instantly, not knowing where to put his hands. His knuckles subconsciously gripped his grayish sweatpants. His face flushed red, and he stammered slightly, "Th-this... I..."
"Come up. Let's talk," Pei Ye said.
