"Tsk, tsk. Humble pie might be served late, but it's never off the menu."
Pei Ye arrived after receiving a call from Officer Tang. Inside the hotel room sat the director, the assistant director, and a few supporting actors who had witnessed the fierce ghost's attack. Officer Tang was currently taking statements. When Pei Ye walked in, he didn't even get up to greet her, but the director eagerly stepped forward to sweet-talk her. Who could blame him? He had offended her during the day, and now he had to bite the bullet and make amends.
"They were terrified," Officer Tang said. Having dealt with Pei Ye a few times, he knew she hadn't the faintest idea how to show tenderness to women. The female lead had just narrowly escaped death, yet Pei Ye's first instinct was to mock her. If a normal person had such a sharp tongue, they would have been shoved into a sack and beaten up long ago.
