The moment he said this,
the other three men stared in astonishment.
The emperor could be chosen at will.
They hadn't expected Yan Shao'an to be so ruthless as to suggest such a thing.
This would be tantamount to making Xuan Yang Bai Yuan's personal domain, with whoever sat on the throne being nothing more than a puppet.
Moreover, Bai Yuan wasn't even sixty years old.
He still had more than five hundred years of life ahead of him. By the time he was gone, it would be nearly impossible for the Li Family to ever reclaim power.
If Bai Yuan were to choose an emperor from a distant branch of the Li Family,
it was questionable whether the Li Family as they knew it would even exist anymore.
The vice dean of Bailu Academy chuckled. "Lord Yan's proposal aligns with the will of Heaven. If Lord Bai is willing, I can submit a formal memorial in the name of Bailu Academy."
Bai Yuan raised an eyebrow.
'They originally came to persuade me not to rebel.'
