Jasper was momentarily at a loss for words after what Chloe said.
He looked at the young woman, who was grinning like a cat that got the cream, and sighed in resignation.
"That was all in the past."
He paused. "Samson Upton's background is unique, and he's being specially groomed for great things. Who knows? We might end up working together in the future."
Afraid Chloe would bring it up again, Jasper quickly changed the subject. "The experiment will be over in a few days. What are your plans after this?"
Chloe actually hadn't thought about it.
"I want to go back with my second brother to see my dad first. After that, I'll join my professors and do research."
"And..."
Chloe trailed off, her round eyes suddenly fixed on Jasper.
Jasper was taken aback and couldn't help but ask, "And what?"
A slight blush crept onto Chloe's face. "You're so silly. To talk to my dad about our marriage, of course."
