They stumbled backward together, falling gently onto the bed and into the soft flower decorations spread across it, laughing softly between their kisses.
Matteo deepened the kiss, his hands moving swiftly to untie and slip off his long black cape. He shrugged it from his shoulders, letting the smooth fabric fall onto the plush carpet beside the bed. He shifted slightly and reached for the fastenings of Adrian's own sweeping cape.
But before he could loosen it, Adrian caught his wrists, a wicked little twinkle suddenly flashing in his eyes.
"Babe, wait," Adrian whispered, breathless.
Matteo froze instantly, his chest heaving as panic flashed across his face. He dropped his hands, staring at him in disbelief. "What? What is it, babe?"
Adrian tilted his chin up, keeping a completely straight face. "What if we don't do anything tonight? What if we just… pray all night? What about that?"
