The morning sun filtered through the curtains, painting the mansion in soft gold. Inside, laughter usually echoed, but today tension crackled in the air like static.
Ryūjin stood in the living room, arms crossed, jaw tight, golden eyes flashing with unspoken power. His eight children, four sons and four daughters, sat nearby, sensing the unusual tension.
Meilin Aiko's face was firm — her expression sharp, but her eyes betrayed worry.
Confrontation with the Newcomer (NC)
"You cannot treat the children like this," Ryūjin said, voice low but dangerous. "Do you understand? They are my family — my blood. And I will not allow you to harm them, emotionally or otherwise."
The NC — a family friend who had been acting careless toward the children — stammered. "I… I was just trying to… discipline them!"
Ryūjin's golden eyes narrowed. "Discipline? By fear or scorn? That is unacceptable. You forget whose children these are. Do you know who their father is?"
A Family Defense
The children instantly reacted, their voices overlapping in worry.
"No! Mommy! Please don't break up Dad!"
"We love our father!"
"He's always protected us!"
Ayame, Kaizen, Haruto, and the others spoke as one, their tiny voices filled with conviction and love.
Meilin's hands trembled slightly. "Ryūjin… I…"
He shook his head, frustration and sorrow in his eyes. "I am angry… and disappointed. But my anger is not toward you, Meilin. It is toward anyone who fails to respect our family. If you do not fix this, I cannot allow it to continue. I… may have to leave."
Ryūjin's Anger and Concern
The NC looked shocked and fearful. "I… I understand… I'll fix it!"
Ryūjin's voice softened, though his eyes remained firm. "See that you do. The children are precious. Their hearts, their growth… are more important than anything else in this world."
He glanced at the children, his golden gaze lingering on each one. They were small now, but even at a fraction of their full power, he knew: they could feel his strength and love, even if they did not fully understand it.
Children's Perspective
Kaizen whispered to Rikuya: "Father… why is he so angry?"
Rikuya shrugged. "Because he cares… more than anyone else."
Ayame stepped forward and said softly, "Father… we promise to be careful… and to protect each other too."
Ryūjin's jaw relaxed slightly. His anger softened into something warmer — pride and love. He knelt to meet their gaze.
"You all… are my heart. Never forget that. I will protect you — no matter what. But understand… my wrath is just as real. And if anyone threatens this family… they will regret it."
Resolution and Emotional Hook
Meilin stepped closer and took his hand. "I'll fix it. I promise."
Ryūjin gave a small nod, still serious, but the tension eased slightly. The children gathered around their parents, holding hands, smiling nervously.
Even with all the cosmic threats they might face, nothing in this world could break the bond of this family.
