Chapter 2 - The Necklace of Whatever [Part 2]

Just around the corner was the school. The building was quite modern, and its structure was mainly glass, which made it resemble an office building. The school was not elite. The city was rich, and as a result, a large part of the taxes covered the education young generations. As always, groups of friends gathered at the gate. Unfortunately, no one was waiting for the Apostle of Destruction. Well, almost no one.

"Oh, please..." he groaned when he saw the girl waiting at the gate. She stood out from

the crowd, so he noticed her immediately. Her golden hairband sparkled in the bright sun. She wore a shorter skirt than her peers. Had a navy blue sweatshirt tucked into her waistband, revealing a white shirt. All students had to honor this part of the uniform. Full of vigor, she scanned the area. Their eyes met and there was no turning back.

"Hey!" She joined him as he crossed the threshold of the gate. For a moment, he wondered if she was that mysterious girl who was looking for him. However, after a moment, he dismissed that possibility. She didn't need to look for him because she knew he would be here.

"My answer remains the same." He knew where she was going with this.

"Come on!" She grabbed his sleeve. Susan could be really persistent. Since

the beginning of the school year, she had been trying to recruit the boy. He was honestly tired of it, but there was something nice about being in demand.

"We're putting on a big show in a month. We really need you!"

"I'm not an actor!" he said seriously.

"When was the last time you looked in the mirror?" She grabbed a bunch of his red hair.

He did look strange. The earrings, necklace, and contact lenses gave him an eccentric aura.

"You have a talent for it. Listen..." She wanted to say his real name, but decided not to. "Apostle of Deduction..."

This time, the boy decided not to correct her.

"Do you really believe that you bear this title..." She grimaced because just saying it was embarrassing. "Destroyer of Worlds"?

"Destroyer of Worlds" is not just a title. - He had to correct her after all. He couldn't afford to be so vague. - It's also a level of power scaling. - Hearing this, the girl mimicked him, because she was heartily tired of listening to such nonsense.

"Do you believe it or not?" she asked firmly.

"Of course not." He waved his hand. "Do you think I'm completely crazy or something?"

He entered the school building. Susan stopped, picking her jaw up off the ground. She hadn't expected such a response.

The first thing he did was go to the bathroom. He washed his face because he felt a little uncomfortable. He decided that next time he would agree to the proposal. After all, he had been waiting patiently for this moment. The moment when he could take off his mask and start real life. As he made his way through the hallway, he felt that the students were talking about him.

It was in situations like this that his alter ego was a godsend. As he entered the classroom, he noticed that all the conversations had stopped. This was normal, as everyone considered him a weirdo. Without a word, he took his seat at his desk. He became sad, realizing that no one had noticed his new necklace.

A moment later, the teacher entered the room. The dark-haired woman with a stern look nodded her head toward her students. From the look on her face, it was clear that the lesson would begin a little differently.

"Today..." She placed the register on the desk. "We will welcome a new student to the class."

The door opened and a gray-haired young man entered the room. He was

handsome and well-groomed, and as a result, his peers immediately took a liking to him. Strangely, the color of his hair seemed natural, which was uncommon. The newcomer's golden eyes carefully examined the other students. He raised his

his eyebrows when they stopped at the Apostle of Destruction. As there were many empty seats, he chose the ones right next to him.

"I'm Jase," he said briefly. The red-eyed boy didn't even look at his new classmate. He had to gather his courage, and for that he needed time. The lesson ended, which meant it was time to attack. The Apostle decided that today was the day. He would to befriend him.

"Hey..." He looked at Jase. "I'm..." His manner made him forget that deep down shy. "Apostle of Destruction..." Realizing how he had introduced himself, he grabbed his face. He really wanted to say his real name, but his habit had other plans.

"Hahahaha!" He didn't expect such a reaction. He smiled slightly, seeing the joy

his interlocutor. "Do you fight demons? Or evil souls?" he asked. There was not a hint of mockery or condescension in his voice.

"Usually it's the same thing," he explained. He didn't even notice that his stress had disappeared.

"I travel through various dimensions. I have the rank of Destroyer of Worlds..." He began to tell an incredible story. With each word, Jase seemed to believe him more and more. After a long conversation, the smile disappeared from his face, giving way to deadly seriousness.

"So what are you doing here?" A sober question. A hero like him wouldn't have to go to ordinary school.

"Rest. It's in worlds like this that I take a break from endless battles." he replied patiently. Looking at the face of his new acquaintance, he realized that his eyes were following the gold necklace. "Are you curious about it?" He took the ornament off his neck.

"Yes." He admired the red diamond. He looked mesmerized.

"This is the necklace... of Agelarg." He lifted it, revealing the ornaments in all their glory.

"What can it do?" The apostle smiled as he was ready for such question. He was glad that his interlocutor was so eager engaged in such role play.

"It can destroy space-time. If I used it, the world around us would fall into pieces. A dangerous artifact..." He placed it on the desk. Jase sat in motionless. He was clearly fascinated by the artifact. The Apostle of Destruction decided to perform a heroic deed.

"You can take it." He could see that he liked it. It was priceless, so he could certainly he could buy a new one, maybe even a better one. The gray-haired man reacted euphorically to these words euphorically. He jumped up and down, thanking him for the wonderful gift. Holding the artifact in his hand , he ran out of the classroom.

Does he know we still have classes...?

He didn't see Jase for the rest of the day at school. First day and he skipped class. His as a student got off to a pretty bad start. Probably something came up and he had to go home. That's how it is. You can't always control your life.

He left school lazily. Decided to go home and then go to sleep. He needed a good, long rest. Just walking along the cobbled street tired him out. Passing by a candy store, he simply nodded to a friend. The man waved at him, knowing that he didn't want to get into a conversation. After fifteen minutes, he reached the door. He took the key out of his pocket and inserted it into the lock. He realized with horror that the door was already open. He quickly entered the apartment.

In the hallway, he saw an unfamiliar girl. The first thing that caught his attention was

her hair. The bright pink color was certainly not natural. Also, the fashon style left much to be desired. She was wearing short denim shorts and a light and T-shirt. A white hat lay on the floor next to her. Now the Apostle of Destruction was sure

that she was the one who had asked about him that morning. She may have been pretty, but she had no right to break into into someone else's house.

She was crouching as if nothing had happened, petting the cat. She looked at

the newcomer with her multicolored eyes. The right one was green, the left one blue.

The boy didn't know what scared him more. The fact that a stranger was in his apartment, or her sense of style. The girl's colors clashed mercilessly, giving him the shivers.

- ... - Without a word, he took his wallet out of his pocket and handed it to the burglar. She just looked at him. Was clearly surprised by his behavior and did not understand the subtle gesture.

"What's his name?" She pointed to the cat.

"Scarlet Link of Destruction," he replied. The girl suddenly blushed. She released the animal from her embrace and knelt before it.

"I'm sorry... I thought it was just a regular cat. I had no idea it was also a warrior!" The Apostle raised his eyebrows.

"No, it's just his name..." He didn't get to finish, because this time the girl knelt before him. "I apologize for my unworthy behavior! Great Apostle of Destruction..." She was stressed. He could read those emotions in her. Despite, he didn't quite know why.

"Yes... I'll have to call the police now." He carefully took out his phone. "

„You have violated my personal rights. Article 7, paragraph 43..." He spouted random numbers.

He wanted her to get out of his apartment as soon as possible. The girl got up without a word. She ran towards the window and then jumped out onto the street without hesitation. It was strange, but he didn't live particularly high up. It was enough for him that she was gone. He sighed heavily when he heard the doorbell ring. Opening the door, he saw the same strange girl.

"I am Lesteria De Feen!" she introduced herself, shaking with stress. "I apologize for this intrusion!" She bowed low. "I should know my place..."

The young man grabbed his head. He knew he had to explain this strange

misunderstanding, whatever it was.

"Please come in," he invited her back inside.

The newcomer sat down on a dirty armchair in the living room. The condition of the apartment was not great. However, she was an uninvited guest, so it would be rude to complain. She a moment, she looked around, her eyes wandering around the room. Her shoes involuntarily tapped the floor, revealing her nervousness. The apostle glanced at her, not knowing what to expect.

"Tea?" he offered.

"I wouldn't dare..." She bowed.

"I don't have any anyway." He opened the cupboards, looking for anything he could offer his guest. Unfortunately, they were empty, which meant he had to restock.

He pulled up a chair so that it was facing the girl. When he sat down, he began to ask questions.

"So what do you need me for?" He chose his words carefully.

"I am a representative of a new organization called Sphinxphere. We are a branch

a larger organization called the Executors. Our task is to protect worlds vulnerable to takeover by evil forces." The more she spoke, the less stressed. The Apostle of Destruction listened attentively. He had to admit that the story impressed him. He would change a few things, but that was not his concern.

"Why two organizations? Wouldn't it be better to have just one?" He scratched his head. "

It will be easier to remember. Lesteria looked confused. She hadn't expected such an interruption.

"I apologize. I understand you don't have time... Let's simplify it to one organization.„

"That's not what I mean..." He didn't get to finish, because the story continued.

"I'm looking for powerful heroes who could lead such an organization."

"I see... Good luck?" He didn't know how else to respond.

"Mr. Apostle of Destruction..." She rose from her seat. "I humbly ask you to reconsider my offer."

You must be joking. I think she got too caught up in role play...

He decided to fight fire with fire. He hoped that the newcomer would disappear from his life as quickly as she had appeared. He looked her straight in the eye. His gaze was as cold as ice. He could feel her terror.

"Do you think I care about such trifles? I am a Destroyer of Worlds and..."

"I am aware of that. That is precisely why you are the ideal candidate. World Destroyers don't usually stay in such peaceful planes of reality. Now that you're here, you would be able to eliminate evil from the lives of those who are unable to defend themselves... She knelt before him.

She's smooth... What should I say? Some excuse...

"How noble. Unfortunately, I cannot participate in this initiative."

"Why?" She widened her eyes.

"I don't have my necklace with me... Necklace of... Aterg." He pointed to his bare neck. It should work. He can't help because he can't use his full power.

"Where is it?"

„Currently, a student from my class has it..." He frowned when he saw the girl's eyes were burning.

"He stole a powerful artifact from you..." She jumped to her feet. "There's no time, lets go!"

"I gave it myself..." Unfortunately, the girl was no longer listening to him. She nimbly jumped out the window just as she had before. The boy stood motionless. He had a small hope that if he stayed here, he would never see her again. Cruel reality poured a bucket of cold water.

"Are you coming?" She opened the door, calling for her companion.

"Yes, yes..." He replied resignedly.
